병렬형 모션 시뮬레이터의 기구학적 해석과 강인 궤적추종 PID 제어기의 설계 (Kinematics and Robust PID Trajectory Tracking Control of Parallel Motion Simulator)

  • This article suggests an inverse kinematics analysis of a two degree of freedom spatial parallel motion simulator and design methodology of the robust PID controller. The parallel motion simulator consists of a fixed base and a moving frame connected by two serial chains, with each serial chain containing one revolute joint and two passive spherical joint. First, an inverse kinematics problems are solved in order to find the joint variable necessary to bring the end effector to track the desired trajectory. Second, an inverse optimal PID controller is proposed to track trajectories in the face of uncertainty. And the $H_{\infty}$ optimality and robust stability of the closed-loop system is acquired through the PID controller. Finally numerical results show the effectiveness of the PID controller that is designed by square/linear tuning laws.

  • A vehicle driving simulator is a virtual reality device which makes a human being feel as if the one drives a vehicle actually. The driving simulator is effectively used for studying interaction of a driver-vehicle and developing the vehicle system of new concepts. The driving simulator consists of a motion platform, a motion controller, a visual and audio system, a vehicle dynamic analysis system, a vehicle operation system and etc. The vehicle dynamic analysis system supervises overall operation of the simulator and also simulates dynamic motion of a multi-body vehicle model in real-time. In this paper, the main procedures to develop the driving simulator are classified by 4 parts.   • A solar array simulator (SAS) consists of an engine that generates a setpoint according to panel characteristics, a power stage that provides the actual output, and a controller. Particularly, if the control method is not suitable due to the nonlinearity of the solar panel output curve depending on the irradiation amount and the temperature, and the variation of the curve factor depending on the various panel materials, then the panel simulation function cannot be performed properly. Current and voltage mode controls are usually used for the conventional control method. However, these control methods deteriorate the control performance near the maximum power point; thus, a hybrid control method using two or more controllers has been investigated. In this study, we analyze the hybrid control method using three controllers divided into different areas. The design equation of the controller is derived based on the small signal modeling of each controller, and the simulation performance of the solar array simulator verifies its stability and response speed.

  • A solar array simulator is a special power supply that regulates the output voltage and current to simulate the characteristics of a photovoltaic panel. The operating point of the panel is difficult to control with a single controller because of the non-linearity of the output curve, which is determined by the amount of irradiation, temperature, and panel material. In the conventional method, the output curve is divided into sections through the current and the voltage mode controls. It reduces the overall performance of the system due to the interchanging control mode. By using the single mode controller, the noise interference of the measured value and the stability of the control around the maximum power point were demonstrated. To solve these issues, this study proposes a new unified controller. The stability of the controller was analyzed along with operating principles, and performance improvement was experimentally verified.

PXI embedded real-time controller를 이용한 Bimodal-tram Simulator (Bimodal-tram Simulator using PXI Embedded Real-time Controllers)

  • In this paper we present the Bimodal-tram simulator using the PXI embedded real-time controllers. The Bimodal-tram is developed in KRRI (Korea Railroad Research Institute). The vehicle can be automatically operated by navigation control system (NCS). For the automatic driving, the vehicle lanes will be marked with permanent magnets that are placed in the ground. The vehicle is controlled by NCS. NCS governs the manual mode and automatic mode driving. The simulator is designed by an identical conception with the real control condition. The dynamic motion of vehicle is simulated by the nonlinear dynamic model. The control computer calculates the control values. The signal interface is linked by CAN communication. The simulation is processed by real-time base. The test driver can see the graphic motion of vehicle and can operate the steering wheel, gas and brake pedal to control direction and velocity of vehicle during the simulation. At present, the simulator is only operated by manual mode. The automatic mode will be linked after the control algorithm is finished. We will use the simulator to develop the control algorithm in the automatic mode. This paper shows the simulator designed for Bimodal-tram using real-time based controller. The results of the test using the simulator are presented and discussed.

  • 본 논문에서는 비행장 관제 시뮬레이터 구현을 위해 필요한 사항을 살펴본다. 비행단계 중 비행장에서의 이착륙 단계는 항공 안전관리 측면에서 매우 중요시 다루어져야 한다. 그 이유는 전 세계 항공기 사고 및 준사고의 60%이상이이 단계에서 발생하는 것으로 조사되기 때문이다. 본 논문에서 항공교통관제 시뮬레이터의 평가 기준인 실습 유형, 장비 형태, 그리고 현실성의 충실도를 통하여 국내 항공교통관제 시뮬레이터의 구현 단계를 평가하고, 현업에 종사하는 항공교통관제사의 설문을 통해 현재 운용 중인 시뮬레이터의 문제점을 검토하여 그 해결방안을 살펴보았다. 또한 이를 바탕으로 개선된 HI-FI 항공교통관제 시뮬레이터의 구현 방향을 제시하고자 하였다.

조향감을 고려한 자동차용 전동조향장치의 퍼지제어기의 개발 (Development of Fuzzy Controller for Electric Power Steering Considering Steering Feel)

  • The test method using simulator to objectively measure the steering feel from several drivers was proposed. It has also described the ideas to analyse the principal factors affecting the steering feel of the driver using the correlation analysis of the measured data and the questionnaire. Proportional Derivative(PD) controller has been used to measure the steering feel, and the control parameters have been selected to obtain the optimal steering feel. Membership frictions of Sugeno fuzzy model are constructed from the assist torque values calculated from PD controller at each steering state. Moreover to verify the performance, this fuzzy controller has been compared with the another fuzzy controller of which membership frictions are derived from the knowledge of drivers. As a result it can be concluded that the proposed fuzzy controller improves the steering feel at each steering state more than any other conventional methods.

  • This paper presents a real design and implementation of an intelligent client-server equipment controller in computer-integrated manufacturing systems. An automated manufacturing process is commonly controlled by a number of PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers), which are attached to various equipments. A manufacturing cell consists of a set of equipments or workstation, which are also controlled by equipment or cell controller. We propose an intelligent equipment controller which has two function: one is to request (collect) an important information from each equipment and the other is to send the collected equipment information to the upper level controller (shop floor controller). Two-phase approaches are considered for the development of equipment client-server controller. The first events are generated virtually using computer simulation. Using the virtually generated activities, operating software of equipment server is developed. The second phase is to embed the virtually developed software (controller) into a real manufacturing system. The proposed methodology might be a novel design and implementation of a virtual simulator, which could be used for developing an intelligent equipment server.

  • In this paper, a simulator is designed along with S/W package for crane controllers. Due to trolley's acceleration or deceleration, cranes inherently cause swing motion of the objects in transporting heavy objects. This swing not only deteriorates the crane handling safety but also increases the processing time. To overcome these drawbacks, the fuzzy rule-based simulator is developed with inhibitory swing at final action. The computer simulation shows that the swing at initial and final positions is removed fast with small position error. The proposed simulator can be used for handling object stabley and the study of effectiveness in unmanned operation of cranes.

자연 순환식보일러의 퍼지제어 모사기 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on Fuzzy Control Simulator of Naturally Circulated Boiler)

  • The engineering equations, which have been used in many engineering companies, were employed for the dynamic modelling part in order to develop the naturally circulated boiler simulator. The fuzzy algorithm, which is similar to the algorithm of making decision by the human being, was developed for the boiler simulator controller and its simulated variables were compared with those of classical PID simulations to verify the stability and the effectiveness of fuzzy controller. The simulator is for the naturally circulated boiler and the main components are the furnace, the drum, the super heater, and the economizer. The combustion and thermal radiation dominant equations were used within the furnace and the mass conservation and the energy rate balance equations were employed for the drum part. The heat transfer rates were calculated using the logarithmic mean temperature differences both for the super heater and for the economizer. The simulations are very useful to understand the boiler operations and the engineering design of the main components. The main program was developed under the PC window condition by linking the fuzzy controller to the main boiler program using the Visual C++ language. The various operational conditions such as the abrupt changes of load, the changes of water supply pipes and the diameter of drum were simulated.
