선박의 거동 및 파랑하중 계산을 위한 약산식 비교 검토 (A Comparison Study on the Simplified Formulae for Ship Motion and Global Loads in Waves)

  • The global performance of various ships estimated by simplified formulae of classification societies is compared with the numerical results by a strip-theory-based whipping analysis program including slamming impact(USLAM). Heave acceleration, pitch angle and the vertical acceleration are compared and the effectiveness of simplified formulae is evaluated. Four different ship models are used for comparison study, which include S175, Flokstra, 6000TEU and 8100TEU container ships. In order to verify the numerical results, the vertical bending moment of S175 is compared with the results of ITTC workshop data.

유한 수심에서 반원형 부유체의 부가질량계수 약산식 개발 (Development of Simplified Formulae for Added Mass of a 2-D Floating Body with a Semi-Circle Section in a Finite Water Depth)

  • This study is to develop the simplified formulae for added mass coefficient of a 2-D floating body with a semi-circle section in a finite water depth. The semi-circle floating body may represent a simplified midship section transformed by Lewis form, which can be used for the ship motion analysis by strip theory. Since the added mass coefficient varies with motion frequencies and sea bottom effect, the correction factor representing the effect of water depth and frequencies is developed for accurate prediction of added mass. Using a two-dimensional numerical wave tank (NWT) technique based on the boundary element method (BEM) including sea bottom boundary the reference values of added mass are calculated to develop the correction factor. For verification and effectiveness of the formulae, the predicted added mass coefficients for various frequencies and water depth ratios are compared with the calculated values from NWT technique.

  • In several design codes and specifications, simplified formulae and charts are given for determining the effective lengths of frame columns. It is shown that these formulae may yield rather erroneous results in certain cases. This is due to the fact that, the code formulae utilise only local stiffness distributions. In this paper, a simplified procedure for determining approximate values for the buckling loads of braced frames is developed. The procedure utilises a fictitious load analysis of frames and yields errors less than 10%, which may be considered suitable for design purposes. The proposed procedure is applied to several numerical examples and it is shown that all the errors are in the acceptable range.

  • The research on the confinement behavior of ultra high performance concrete without and with the use of steel fibers (UHPC and UHPFRC) has been extremely limited. In previous studies, authors experimentally investigated the axially compressive behavior of circular steel tube confined concrete (STCC) short and intermediate columns with the employment of UHPC and UHPFRC. Under loading on only the concrete core, the confinement effect induced by the steel tube was shown to significantly enhance the utimate stress and its corresponding strain of the concrete core. Therefore, this paper develops a simplified stress - strain model for circular STCC columns using UHPC and UHPFRC with compressive strength ranging between 150 MPa and 200 MPa. Based on the regression analysis of previous test results, formulae for predicting peak confined stress and its corresponding strain are proposed. These proposed formulae are subsequently compared against some previous empirical formulae available in the literature to assess their accuracy. Finally, the simplified stress - strain model is verified by comparison with the test results.

  • 앵커식 고정지지 널말뚝의 설계요소는 널말뚝의 최소 근입깊이, 앵커가 부담하여야 할 장력 및 널말뚝이 받는 최대 휨모멘트이다. 널말뚝 설계는 Rankine의 토압이론을 근거로 가정한 토압분포를 적용하여 변곡점을 중심으로 위쪽과 아래쪽을 나누어 단순보로 보는 Blum의 등가보법이 흔히 쓰이고 있다. 설계용도표가 개발되어 있으나 기하학적 조건과 지반조건의 제약으로 실무적으로 이용하기에 불편함이 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 불편함을 해소하기 위해 설계용 도표를 개발하였다. 또한 다양한 설계조건에 대하여 컴퓨터 프로그램으로 생성된 출력자료를 회귀분석하여 설계용 간편식을 제시하였다. 간편식은 설계과정을 단순화하고 오류를 줄이며 필산의 결과에 대한 검산으로도 활용할 수 있다.

  • This paper presents an effect of cross magnetization to the generator simplified linear model which is used for multi-machine power systems. The formulae of reactances and time constant with saturation effect are presented. The simulation results show that cross magnetization has an effect which can not be ignored, to the reactances, time constant and eigenvalues in one machine infinite bus system of simplified linear model.

  • Simplified formulae for axial and bending natural frequencies of bellows are developed using an equivalent thin-walled pipe model. The axial and bending stiffness of bellows is determined using lumped transfer matrix method. Accordingly, the Expansion Joint Manufacturers Association (EJMA) formula for axial and bending stiffness calculation is modified using two different equivalent radii. The results from the simplified formulae are verified by those from a experiment result and a finite element (FE) model and good agreement is shown between the each other.
