  • The Younsijo is a stream of Korean poem. not simply an aggregate of stanzas, but an organic structure. Younsijo was an appeared in the 16th century. The 16th century was focused on the literature of Sadaebu (noble family, 사대부). And the make an appearance is Danhyungsijo (simply-sijo, 단형시조), Yonsijo and Kasa(가사). In that case, a social stratum is why does singing each other form. The 16th century set metaphysics(성리학) as the national ideology. Metaphysics became most prevalent at the end of the 16th century. Yonsijo also appreared during the 16th century and was closeiy related to the idea of metaphysics. Both Younsijo and metaphysics were formulated by noble family, The Yonsijo was Formed in 16th century. And the 17th century was succession. The Yonsijo in 16th century is devide to Kanghosijo (강호시조) and Hunminsijo (훈민시조). Also, Kanghosijo is devide to Youkgaline Younsijo (육가계 연시조) and Sasigaline Yonsijo (사시가계 연시조). Hunminsijo used an expressive on the order of Oryoun(오륜). Therefore, this study is forced on , , and . These things, all of the end of the utility. This paper deals with Danhyungsijo and Kasa with main emphasis on works of Songgang(송강) Jungcheol(정철). The reason for dealing one writer's works is the discussion needs consistent standard. In analyzing Songgang's Danhyungsijo, Younsijoand and Kasa, one would discern the differences among three. As a result, one could conclude that both Danhyungsijo and Kasa mainly projects individual's emotional esthetic feeling, particularly, Danhyungsijo for emotional implication, and for in-depth emotional revealing. Younsijo were chosen as it supplements the shortcoming of Sijo(as it consists of three-line only) to effectively contain the ideas of metaphysics.

  • Toson-Shibigok(Twelve Songs of Toson) which T'oegye, Yi Hwang, composed has received a lot of attention in terms of its educational implications. These implications have become the essential part of Gojeon Sigas(classic songs and poems), and solid evidence has also been accumulated in the literature. Therefore, the purposes of this study are twofold, that is 1) to explore the impact of T'oegye's fundamental structure of the first education at that time and 2) describe how these educational attitudes will eventually yield meta- educational values. What T'oegye meant by fundamental structure of the first education was that Sijos originated from his own experience should be the vital part of teaching method. One can say that T'oegye's teaching method is more integrative than that of modern literature education in that it includes songs. Not only using his own teaching method, but T'oegye tried to demonstrate his own literary structure to his colleagues and the future generations. In the end, Meta-Education which comprises the heart of recent educational theories well reflects Toegye's theoretical propositions. Rather than giving practical knowledge, his method offers the paradigms of thought patterns and shows the learners' attitudes in approaching the truth. Moreover, T'oegye's teaching method has become a good example to the future generations as well as his contemporary followers. In sum, although a lot of years have passed since he died, T'oegye's Sijo works and life still have invaluable impact on the field of education.

  • Adoration for nature constitutes one of the primary subjects that literature has tackled since the origin of human history. Nature expressed through a poet's subjective imagination is the internalized and reorganized nature. This study examines the view on nature enacted in Ch'o-Jung's three-verse poems (sijo) in light of the traditional views on nature implicated in the ancient three-verse poems (koshijo), which is in line with the long-established Oriental view on nature. To dignitaris(sadaebu) in the Chosun Dynasty, nature appeared as the idealistic subject for moral culture ($shims{\breve{o}}ngsuyang$), which also becomes the literary space where the purity and justice of the world view of Neo-Confucianism(Sungrihak) is contained in the form of the three-verse poem, the lyrical poetic space where the "I" is united with nature by way of "enjoying of wind and moon"($umpungnongw{\breve{o}}i$) and "living in quiet retiremen"($yuyuchaj{\breve{o}}k$), and the object for the poetical perception of the surrounding world. Ch'o-Jung' s three-verse odes are found in Reed pipe ($Ch'oj{\breve{o}}k$), Sixty Five Pieces of Three-Verse Odes (Samhaengshi-$yukshipopy{\breve{o}}n$), Autumn Fragrance ($Hyangginam{\check{u}}n-ga{\check{u}}l$), and The Words of Zelko va Tree ($N{\check{u}}tinamu{\check{u}}i-mal$). This study analyzes 212 pieces of Ch'o-Jung' s three-verse poems chosen from theses books. In Ch'o-Jung's poems, the traditional view on nature expressed in the ancient three-verse poems is rendered in such a way that metaphysical understanding of nature is indirectly transmitted through the objective correlatives found nature. Nature is no longer the object of straightforward utterance, but transformed, displaced, and removed: that way, nature gets objectified to form a complicated and multi-layered structure. In conclusion, the view on nature manifested in Ch'o-Jung's three-verse poems is based on traditional metaphysics. Second, nature is the object of lyrical nostalgia and adoration. Third, nature is imbued with the fundamental affection for parents. Fourth, nature is associated with organic life. Fifth, the nature in Ch'o-Jung's poems reveals the beauty of stillness endorsed in Lao-tse's and Chung-tze's philosophy. And last, nature is the agent for self-realization and meditation.

  • Newly discovered ${\lceil}Gogeummyeongjakga{\rfloor}$ is a copy collection of the old poetry SI-JO, which is specified in the book of yellow Gojeongji. {$\lceil}Gogeummyeongjakga{\rfloor}$ is guessed to be copied before the 17th year of King Yeongjo's reign(1740) and thus it's the early collection in the history of the Korean verse, Shijo. According to our research, there are 78poems in the collection and nine out of them hasn't been yet reported to the Korean Academy. The characteristics of Shijo in the book are followed. First. The collection is different from other books since the book was written in Korean instead of Chinese characters, which shows the uniqueness of the Korean literature in the late 17th and the early 18th century. Secondly, there are different versions of a poem in the collection, which is quite unusual in the other collections. There are different words or phrases used in different versions and even the whole verse is modified in some cases. Thirdly. two out of newly discovered nine short lyric songs is transformed from and that are kind of Chinese Ak-Bu. By the way, the compiler of ${\lceil}Gogeummyeongjakga{\rfloor}$ seemed to understand the co-relation between Ak-Bu and Shijo. and that's why he chose transformed Shijo from Ak-Bu not Chinese poetry. Among nine poems, <9> and <10> are newly discovered responding songs unknown up till now.

  • The purpose of this study is to consider factors such as one's sight of viewing afar, expressional principles, and basic aesthetic category, which are treated importantly by the poets of the Joseon Dynasty era in appreciating nature. 'Afar' of the viewing afar is actual distance and aesthetic distance at the same time. Viewing afar is to find geographical features, depth, and details of a mountain, seeing the whole nature at a high place. Also, it can make possible escape from the external limitation of nature and get mental superiority and enhancement. Ultimately, viewing afar is to find out everlasting change of the nature and reason of natural creation. One's sight in viewing afar makes an appreciator's mind empty and calm, and it makes chance to harmonize human with nature. Viewing afar is to unite human nature to naturality beyond realistic value, idea, and artificiality. The mind from viewing afar has peacefulness and it is a state of serenity without any secular atmosphere. Viewing afar is an eye for beauty to leap toward an endless free state from narrow sight about objects. It rejects modification and technics in achieving an world of harmony. It means that objects should not be restrained by human's recognition. There are three expressions, which are high, horizontal, and transcendental viewing afar. The aesthetic category and beauty of peaceful mental state are realized by the expressions. The peaceful mental state makes peaceful mind from realistic conflicts and makes us experience a profound reason of nature.

It was published a little SiJo and SiJo would reflected a phenomenon of society and a character of literature. A representative characters of the Si-Jo in substance at that time was summed up three. First it described a warmth of farm village. Expecially make full use of a sensuous description expressed a landscape of farm village. Otherwise it revealed a life of austerity in farming area. Second it reflected a phenomenon of return to their home village. People who was familiar with their country loved to come back their old home. To relax their mind and body they came back home and they pursuit romantic life. Third it was a poetry of historical retrospect. Although their country was colonial situation they longed fot their country's independence. Because of this anxiety they expressed their heart by means of old sijo. Mainly using old castle, ring, historic site they revealed a hidden feelings thst they had. • The purpose of this study is about to consider the structure of dualistic recognition between "Gang-Ho"(ideal sanctuary) and real world in the "Songs of Fisherman" written by Lee Hyeon Bo. In order to do this job, I analized the arrangement of the contents and extract the exact in and outward meaning of elements and expressions; usage of them between lines of this Song. Based on these works, I tried to explain the confronted recognitions of the two worlds. At the first, about the arrangement and contents of this poem, It is consisted of 5 independent sub-poems and each of them are describing the value of fisherman's life(at the poem 가), separation from mundane world(나), satisfaction of fisherman's life(다), nature of "Gnag-Ho"(라), domiciliation in the place(마). It looks like that the writer intended to have the arrangement probability and likelihood connecting poems. Secondly, It contrast the nature of the "Gang-Ho" and real world. The sanctuary is a place of 'absence of worldly desire' and 'cordiality' that could afford one's harmonious life. On the other hand, the real world is a troublesome place which always conflicts political confrontations. For those reasons, the writer wants to satisfy with his living in "Gang-Ho" separating himself from the real world. Thirdly, The nature of "Gang-Ho" is 'absence of worldly desire' and 'cordiality' that one could be deserved his diligency becoming a part of the harmonious idealistic living place. Fourthly, on the character of story teller. Originally he is a incomer of "Gang-Ho" from real world. so that reason, he is showing dualism not to deny the loyalty oath to his king, while he intends to satisfy with the life in "Gang- Ho" separating himself from real world. As a gentry, at that time, the loyalty oath is inevitable one and that is found from writer's other works either. Fifthly, Characters of the different world recognition. The main reason of his intention to "Gang-Ho" roots on out of worldly confrontations, his separation from real world is on a joyous peaceful life just like in "Gang-Ho". this study believes the writer imply that 'absence of worldly desire' and 'cordiality' of "Gang-Ho", be a key role to resolve the confrontation of real world. Lee Hyeon Bo himself regards the two elements as a advisable attitude of life. At last, Seeing the writer's other work and literature's educational effect, this study defines that even if the poem outwardly express one's lyricism but inside it warns governors ruling attitude.

  • This study describes the acceptance of Hae-Dong-Yu-Yo(海東遺謠), which is a book the 19th century to 20th century, into the genre of poetry. In chapter 2, I searched for lists, constructions and arrangement of poems in Hae-Dong-Yu-Yo(海東遺謠). The book has not only 39 poems (gasa) in Korean, but also more than 20 poems (hansi) in Chinese. I also found two new poems by the editor of the book. This shows that the receiver fully accepts the poetry and that he has equal consideration for Korean songs as well as hansi ones. In chapter 3, I focused on the red and blue points inside letters. When we read only the red and blue points within the poetry, I realized that Hae-Dong-Yu-Yo(海東遺謠) created these for poetry's literary value, not for music or songs. This reveals how the editor of Hae-Dong-Yu-Yo(海東遺謠) received the older famous poems as his own. This shows us the degree of acceptance of Korean classical poetry and songs, and therefore leads us to believe that this can be of use to present learners as well.
