서울 및 6대 광역시의 기상요인을 고려한 대기오염이 주요 알레르기질환에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Air Pollution on Allergic Diseases Considering Meteorological Factors in Metropolitan Cities in Korea)

  • Objectives: We investigated the effects of air pollution on allergic diseases (allergic rhinitis, asthma, atopic dermatitis) in metropolitan cities in Korea, adjusting for meteorological factors. Methods: Data on daily hospital visits and hospital admissions for 2003-2010 was obtained from the National Health Insurance Cooperation. Meteorological data was obtained from the Korea Meteorological Administration. We then calculated daily mean temperature, daily mean humidity, daily mean air pressure at sea level, and diurnal temperature range. We used data on air pollution provided by the National Institute of Environmental Research. Maximum daily eight-hour average ozone concentrations and the daily mean $PM_{10}$ were used. We estimated excess risk and 95% confidence interval for the increasing interquatile range (IQR) of each air pollutant using Generalized Additive Models (GAM) that appropriate for time series analysis. Results: In this study, we observed an association between ozone and hospital visits for allergic rhinitis, asthma, and atopic dermatitis in all metropolitan cities, adjusting for temperature, humidity, air pressure at sea level, diurnal temperature range, and day of the week. Ozone was associated with hospital visits for allergic rhinitis, asthma, and atopic dermatitis across all metropolitan cities. However $PM_{10}$ was associated with allergic-related diseases in only select cities. Also, ozone and $PM_{10}$ were associated with hospital admission for asthma in all cities except Gwangju. Hospitalization for the other diseases failed to show consistent association with air pollutants. Conclusion: In the findings of this study, there was a significant association between air pollutants and allergic-related diseases. More detailed research subdivided age group or conducting meta-analyses combining data of all cities is required.

평택지역의 맹꽁이 대체서식지 모니터링 및 기상요인 분석 (Monitoring the Alternative Habitat of Kaloula Borealis and Analysis on Meteorological Factors in Pyeongtaek)

  • 본 연구는 평택시 죽백동 일원에 서식하는 맹꽁이를 2019년에 대체서식지로 이주시킨 후 2020-2022년까지 사후모니터링을 통해 대체서식지가 갖춰야 할 최소 조건과 맹꽁이 모니터링의 효율성 제고를 목적으로 진행되었다. 대체서식지의 서식 환경을 분석한 결과 습지, 초지, 하천과의 거리는 5 m 이내, 저층 초지 공간은 6,000 m2 이상, 깊이 20 cm 이상의 부드러운 토질, 임시 습지의 면적은 5,000 m2 이상으로 서식지 적합성 기준에 부합하였으며, 모니터링 과정에서 이주된 개체군의 체장길이 및 몸무게가 유지되는 것을 확인하여(p>0.05) 서식지와 산란지의 근접성, 먹이공간(초지공간) 확보, 토질, 습지의 조건이 갖춰진다면 대체서식지의 기능을 수행할 수 있는 것으로 나타났다. 맹꽁이 개체군에 영향을 주는 기상요인을 분석한 결과, 체장길이는 최저기온, 최고기온, 상대습도, 강수량과 통계적으로 유의미 하였다(p<0.05). 개체수 및 번식의 경우 강수량과 번식에서 유의미한 정(正)의 상관관계가 나타났으며(p<0.01), 개체수는 평균기온, 최저기온, 상대습도에 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다(p<0.05).

기상 특보 발표가 기상청 콜센터 상담 건수에 미치는 영향 분석 (The Impact of Severe Weather Announcement on the Korea Meteorological Administration Call Center Counseling Demand)

  • The effective management of call centers under special circumstances is critical to improve customer satisfaction. In order to effectively respond to call center counseling demand, this paper aims to identify factors having the greatest impact on the number of Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) call center counseling. To do so, we propose to combine call center data with severe weather announcement data and investigate how the severe weather announcement affects the number of KMA call center counseling. A time lag analysis is conducted and it is found that the severe weather announcement takes about an hour to be reflected in the number of KMA call center counseling. Based on the result of the time lag analysis, we conduct a comparative analysis according to time and season using the data collected from 1 January 2012, to 29 June 2016. The results show that the number of KMA call center counseling increases at lunchtime and decreases during nighttime, and the average rate of change in call center counseling demand tends to be larger under the severe weather announcement. For the comparative analysis according to the season, there are significant differences in the effect of severe weather announcement on the number of KMA call center counseling in spring, fall and winter.

도시지역 공중화분 농도와 기상조건과의 관계 (Relationship between Pollen Concentration and Meteorological Condition in an Urban Area)

  • This study attempted to determine important meteorological parameters related to airborne pollen concentrations in urban areas. Hourly pollen measurement data were prepared from a regular sampling with a volumetric Burkard spore trap at a site in the Ulsan city, during the spring season (March~May) of 2011. Results showed that the daily mean and maximum concentrations for total pollen counts during the spring season were statistically significantly correlated with both air temperature and wind speed; daily mean pollen concentration was the most highly related to daily maximum temperature (r=0.567, p<0.001). It was also identified that pollen concentration has a stronger relationship with wind speed at the rural site than at the urban one, which confirms that strong wind conditions over the pollen sources area can be favorable for pollen dispersal, resulting in increases in airborne pollen concentrations downwind. From the results of an oak-pollen episode analysis, it was found that there was a significant relationship between hourly variation of oak pollen concentrations and dynamic meteorological factors, such as wind and mixing height (representing the boundary layer depth); especially, a strong southwestern wind and elevated mixing height was associated with high nocturnal concentrations of oak pollen. This study suggests that temperature, wind, and mixing height can be important considerations in explaining the pollen concentration variations. Additional examination of complex interactions of multiple meteorological parameters affecting pollen behavior should be carried out in order to better understand and predict the temporal and spatial pollen distribution in urban areas.

  • 7개 재배지역산 참당귀의 decursin 함량변이를 조사하였으며, 각 재배지의 기상요인들과의 상관분석을 통하여 기상환경이 당귀 근의 decursin 함량에 미치는 영향을 파악하고자 수행된 실험결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 참당귀 근의 유효성분인 decursin과 decursinol angelate의 정량은 순상컬럼을 사용한 HPLC법이나 GC법이 양호하였다. 2. 참당귀 뿌리의 decursin 함량은 봉화산 4. 86%, 영천산 4.75%이며 수원산은 2.33%로 재배지역에 따른 함량변이가 비교적 컸다. 3. 생육기간별 각 기상요인들과 decursin 함량과의 상관분석 결과 통계적 유의상관은 보이지 않았으나, 평균기온과 강수량은 대체적으로 부의 상관을 보였으며 일교차, 일사량, 일조시수등은 정의 상관을 나타냈다.

무등산 인공 침엽수림에서 테르펜과 기상인자의 상관성분석 (Correlation Analysis Between Terpene and Meteorological Factors at Artificial Coniferous Forest of Mt. Moodeung)

  • There are many factors to influence the amount of terpene at the forest. However, it is poorly understood whether the amount is altered by meteorological factors. In order to study correlation analysis between terpene amount and meteorological(i.e., temperature, humidity, wind speed, solar radiation) and environmental factors(i.e., oxygen, carbonb dioxide) at the artificial coniferous forest of Chamaecyparis obtusa (site 1) and Cryptomeria japonica (site 2) nearby the $1^{st}$ reservoir at Mt. Moodeung, the research was executed during April to November in 2011. Forest density at site 1 was 1,692 trees/ha, being occupied with 87.2% of Chamaecyparis obtusa, higher than 925 trees/ha at site 2. Carbon dioxide at site 1 was in the range of 385~410 ppm in June, similar to at Anmyundo(395 ppm in 2010). Solar radiation has positive correlation with ambient temperature and inversely negative with relative humidity. Main species of terpene released were ${\alpha}$-pinene, camphene, ${\beta}$-pinene, cymene, ${\delta}$-limonene and camphor at two sites and terpene was more effluent at spring and summer than at fall. The large amount of terpene was emitted in the afternoon than in the morning under the influence of the wind speed and the topographical property. The terpene amount has positive correlation with relative humidity and oxygen, and negative with wind speed and soil temperature. Because correlations of ${\alpha}$-pinene and other terpene materials showed statistically significant within p=0.01. ${\alpha}$-pinene could be suggested as the basic material in explaining the amount of other terpene materials.

기상인자에 따른 대기 중 미세먼지 감소 및 빗물 특성 연구 (The Effect of Meteorological Factors on PM10 Depletion in the Atmosphere and Evaluation of Rainwater Quality)

  • 본 연구는 다변량 통계분석을 이용하여 다양한 기상인자가 대기 중 미세먼지(pariculate matter 10, PM10) 농도에 미치는 영향을 분석하였으며, 대기 중 PM10 농도에 따른 빗물 수질 변화를 평가하였다. 총 11회의 강우 이벤트를 대상으로 강우 전후의 대기 중 PM10 농도를 실시간 측정하였으며, 총 183개 빗물 샘플을 수집하여 pH와 EC (electrical conductivity)를 실시간 측정하고 양이온(Na+, Mg2+, K+, Ca2+, NH4+) 및 음이온(Cl-, NO3-, SO42-) 농도를 분석하였다. 측정된 데이터를 바탕으로 대기 중 PM10 농도, 기상인자, 빗물 수질 간 상관관계를 규명하기 위해 주성분 분석(principal component analysis, PCA)과 피어슨 상관분석(Pearson correlation analysis)을 실시하였다. 강우 유형 1(강우 강도: > 5 mm/h)의 경우, 누적 강우량에 따른 대기 중 PM10 농도는 유의한 음의 상관관계(r = -0.55, p < 0.05)를 보였으며 대기 중 PM10 농도는 빗물 내 수용성 이온(r = 0.25) 농도와 EC (r = 0.4)를 증가시키는 요인으로 작용하며, 빗물의 pH는 감소시키는 것으로 나타났다(r = -0.7). 반면, 강우 유형 2(강우강도: <5 mm/h)의 경우, 누적강우량과 대기 중 PM10 농도는 음의 상관관계를 보이지 않았으며, 대기 중 PM10 농도와 빗물 수질 간 통계적으로 유의한 상관관계가 나타나지 않았다.

서울시 대기중 오존의 오염도와 그 영향인자 분석 (An Analysis of Influencing Factors on Ozone Concentration in the Ambient Air in Seoul)

  • This study is carried out to determine the concentration of the ozone and the factors affecting the variation of ozone concentration in the ambient air in Seoul. The one-hour average concentration of ozone $(O_3)$, sulfur dioxide $(SO_2)$, nitrogen oxides (NO and $NO_2$), suspended particulate (TSP), carbon monoxide (CO) and non-methane hydrocarbon (NMHC) at 5 sites in Seoul measured from September to October in 1983 and 1984 were analysed statistically along with meteorological data for the same period. The results were as follows; 1. The average concentrations of ozone at 5 sites during the period ranged from 3.3 to 9.1 ppb, they were below 20 ppb of the ambient air quality standard of Korea. 2. The maximum hourly concentration of ozone occurred between 2 and 3 p.m. in a day and concentration at night were very low but higher concentrations were observed at around 4 a.m. 3. The concentration ratio between NO and $NO_2$ in Seoul was relatively lower than that for the cities of foreign countries reported so far. 4. The ozone concentration has negative correlationships with the concentration of other primary pollutants$(SO_2, NO, NO_2, CO and NMHC)$ in simple regression analyses. 5. The ozone concentration was positively correlated to wind speed, temperature and insolation intensity but negatively correlated to relative humidity. 6. Stepwise multiple regression analysis of the ozone concentration to the pollutants and meteorological factors indicate that insolation intensity and $[NO_2]/[NO]$ were the primary influencing factors. 7. The three factors of insolation intensity, $[NO_2]/[NO] and NO_2$ concentration had a significant combined effect on the ozone concentration $(r^2 = 0.47-0.57)$.

대규모 기후인자와 관련된 우리나라 봄철 산불위험도 변동 (Spring Forest-Fire Variability over Korea Associated with Large-Scale Climate Factors)

  • This study investigated the variability of spring (March-May) forest fire risk in Korea for the period 1991~2017 and analyzed its relationship with large-scale climate factors. The Forest Weather Index (FWI) representing the meteorological risk for forest fire occurrences calculated based on observational data and its relationship with large-scale climate factors were analyzed. We performed the empirical orthogonal function (EOF) analysis on the spring FWI. The leading EOF mode of FWI accounting for about 70% of total variability was found to be highly correlated with total number of forest fire occurrences in Korea. The high FWI, forest fire occurrence risk, in Korea, is associated with warmer atmosphere temperature in midwest Eurasia-China-Korea peninsula, cyclonic circulation anomaly in northeastern China-Korea peninsula-northwest pacific, westerly wind anomaly in central China-Korea peninsula, and low humidity in Korea. These are further related with warmer sea surface temperature and enhanced outgoing longwave radiation over Western Pacific, which represents a typical condition for a La $Ni\tilde{n}a$ episode. This suggests that large-scale climate factors over East Asia and ENSO could have a significant influence on the occurrence of spring forest fires in Korea.

묘삼수량에 미치는 기상요인의 영향 (Study on the Meteorological Effect on the Yield of Ginseng Seedling)

  • 묘삼수량에 미치는 기상요인의 영향을 알고자 7개년간의 묘삼수량을 이용하여 조사 분석하였던 바 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 기상요인의 년차변이는 강수량이 가장 컸고 다음이 일조시수였으며 기온에서 가장 작았다. 평균기온의 년차변이는 6월에서 가장 컸고 4월에서 가장 작았다. 2. 묘삼소질별수량의 연차변이는 중량미달묘삼에서 가장 컸고 사용가능묘삼에서 제일 작았다. 3. 사용가능묘삼수는 묘삼생산총본수와 높은 정(+) 상관이 인정되었으며 묘삼생산총본수는 1-3월간의 강수량과 정의 상관이 인정되었다. 4. 사용가능묘삼수와 7월의 기온간에는 부(-)상관이, 5월의 강수량과는 정의 상관이 각각 인정되어 묘포에서의 수분관리는 5월부터 시작하여야됨이 시사되었다.
