Objectives : In order to study the effects of Harpagophyti Radix Aqua -acupuncture in rats with arthritis induced by Freund's complete adjuvant, performed several experimental items : that is edema rate, number of WBC, hemazocrit, platelet, total protein and albumin. Methods : In this study rats were divided into five groups : Normal group (non treated group), Control group (non-injected group in rats with arthritis induced by FCA), ST group (0.2cc normal Saline-injected group at right Chok-Samni(Zusanli,$ST_{36}$) once in every two days during the two weeks in rats with arthritis induced by FCA), HRS group (0.2cc Harpagophyti Radix-subcutaneous injected group once in every two days during the two weeks in rats with arthritis induced by FCA), HRST group (0.2cc Harpagophyti Radix-injected group at Chok-Samni($ST_{36}$) once in every two days during the two weeks in rats with arthritis induced by FCA). Results : 1. In the right plantar edema, HRS group showed a decrease with statistical significance on the 2 weeks and HRST group showed a decrease with statistical significance on the 1 weeks as compared with control group. 2. In the WBC, HRST group showed a meaningful decrease with statistical significance and also HRS group showed a decrease with statistical significanae as compared with control group. 3. In the platelet, HRST group showed a decrease with statistical significance as compared with control group. 4. In the hematocrit, HRS group showed a increase with statistical significance as compared with control group. 5. In the serum total protein and albumin, HRS group showed a increase with statistical significance as compared with control group. Conclusions : According to the above result, it is concluded that Harpagophyti Radix Aqua-acupuncture showed the therapeutic effect of antiinflammation in adjuvant arthritis and it is suggested that further studies and researchs for clinical use be needed.

The ultimate goal of periodontal disease therapy is to promote the regeneration of lost periodontal tissue, there have been many attempts to develop a method to achieve this goal, but none of them was completely successful. The purpose of this study was to compare the effects of treatment using BBP(R) with control treated by only modified Widman flap. 22 intrabony defects from 12 patients with chronic periodontitis were used for this study, 10 sites of them were treated with BBP(R) as experimental group and 12 site were treated by only modified Widman flap as control group. Clinical parameters including probing depth, gingival recession, bone probing depth and loss of attachment were recorded at 6 months later, and the significance of the changes was statistically analyzed. The results are as follows : 1. Probing depth of control(${\triangle}2.7{\pm}1.3mm$) and experimental group(${\triangle}3.6{\pm}1.8mm$) weres reduced with statistically significance(P<0.05), but this changes were not different between the two experiment, control group with statistically significance. 2. Gingival recession showed statistically significant increase in control group(${\triangle}2.1{\pm}1.2mm$)(P<0.05), but not in experimental group(${\triangle}0.5{\pm}0.7mm$), and this changes were different between the two experiment, control group with statistically significance(P<0.05). 3. Bone probing depth showed statistically significant decrease in experimental group(${\triangle}2.9{\pm}1.0mm$)(P<0.05), but not in control group(${\triangle}1.1{\pm}1.4mm$), and this changes were different between the two experiment, control group with statistically significance(P<0.05). 4. Loss of attachment showed statistically significant decrease in experimental group(${\triangle}3.1{\pm}1.7mm$), but not in control group(${\triangle}0.6{\pm}1.2mm$), and this changes were different between the two experiment, control group with statistically significance(P<0.05) On the basis of these results, treatment using BBP(R) improves the probing depth, bone probing depth and loss of attachment in intrabony defects.

Objective : The purpose of this study was to compare and analyze the effect of ILIT and ELIT according to sex, age, disease on Hypercholesterolemia. Methods : The 73 patients who were irradiated to the Intravascular Laser and the 57 patients who were irradiated to the Extravascular Laser from 1999 to 2005 in Sam-se oriental medicine hospital were the study group. They were irradiated two or three times a week and checked total cholesterol before and after ten times of irradiation. The checked total cholesterol point, 150-199 were normal, 200-239 were borderline, over 240 were abnormal. They were classified into male and female(43 persons, 87 persons), adult and 01d(62 persons, 68 persons), cardiovascular disease and the other diseases(70 persons, 60 persons). Results : 1. Male, adult, and the other diseases groups were more effective in cholesterol reduction and in convertible change of each group than female, old, and cardiovascular disease groups, but only the convertible change of each group had statistic significance. 2. In male, old, and cardiovascular disease, ELIT was more effective than ILIT in cholesterol reduction and convertible change of each group, but this result didn't have statistic significance. 3. In female, ELIT was more effective than ILIT in cholesterol change but this result didn't have statistic significance. ILIT was more effective than ELIT in convertible change of each group and this result had statistic significance. 4. In adult and the other diseases, ILIT was more effective in cholesterol reduction, but this result didn't have statistic significance. ILIT was more effective than ELIT in convertible change of each group too and this result had statistic significance. Conclusion: It was thought to be undesirable to decide which is more effective treatment, but to be more desirable to choose one of ILIT or ELIT according to sex, age, disease than to decide it indiscriminately.

Background : Nowadays many researches about it s cure are going on world widely since cancer is one of the most human health threatening diseases. In Chinese and North Korean medicine, Duchesnea india(Audra.) Foche. is practically used to treat many kinds of cancer, but in Korea it is rarely used. So, we need to scientifically identify anti-tumor effects of Duchesnea india(Audra.) Foche. Objective : We are aimed to identify anti-tumor effects of Duchesnea india(Audra.) Foche. on the stomach cancer cells through molecular biologic methods. Material & Methods : We used AGS as stomach cancer cells from American Type Culture Collection. We added the boiled extract of Duchesnea india(Audra.) Foche. $5{\mu}l$(Sample I), $10{\mu}l$(Sample II) to cultural media(ml)for 0,6, 12, 24, 48 hours. We measured the killing effect on stomach cancer cells through Tryphan blue exclusion test and the suppressive effect on viability of stomach cancer cells via MTT assay. the quantitative RT-PCR was used to examine their effect on the revelation of Bcl-2, Bcl-XL, and Bax, which are genes related to apoptosis. We measured change of mitochondria membrane permeability and membrane potential via flow cytometry. Result : 1. The killing effect on stomach cancer cells showed that each test groups killed more stomach cancer cells than the control group with a time(6 hours later) and density dependent manner, which was statistical significance. 2. The suppressive effect on viability of stomach cancer cells showed that each test groups had more suppressive effects on viability of stomach cancer cells than the control group with a time(6 hours later), which was statistical significance. 3. In the test about the revelation of genes related to apoptosis, the revelation of Bcl-2 and Bcl-XL decreased with a density manner which was statistical significance. but the revelation of Bax was not changed with statistical significance. 4. As a result of this test, Duchesnea india(Audra.) Foche. caused apoptosis by decreasing the absorbance of mitochondria with statistical significance. and also induced apoptosis by decreasing the membrane potential of mitochondria. Conclusion : This experiment showed that Duchesnea india(Audra.) Foche. has anti-tumor effect with statistical significance. This is in vitro experiment and basic experiment on Duchesnea india(Audra.) Foche. We hope more progressive researchs on Duchesnea india(Audra.) Foche. will go on and its anti-tumor effects will be more practically identified.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to confirm the Efficacy and Safety of "Functional cosmetics containing Humulus japonicus Extract" on dry skin due to mild atopic dermatitis. Methods : A total of 48 patients who visited Semyung Oriental Medical Center from March 20th, 2018 to July 5th, 2018 were included in the study. In this study, the patients were treated with Functional cosmetics containing Humulus japonicus Extract and positive control group. For 6 weeks of gross examination, instrumental assessment were made before and after the study to evaluate how well the products for treatment group with positive control products for control group in recovering the dry skin barriers by mild atopic dermatitis. Results : 1. In the primary endpoint, Skin Hydration showed a statistically significant increase and Transepidermal Water Loss(TEWL) showed a statistically significant decrease in treatment group between Baseline and 6 weeks. 2. In the secondary endpoint, Skin Hydration showed a statistically significant increase in treatment group between Baseline and 3 weeks, but TEWL showed no statistical significance. 3. In the secondary endpoint, Skin Hydration showed a statistically significant increase in treatment group between 3 weeks and 6 weeks, but TEWL showed no statistical significance. 4. In the secondary endpoint, Change of Skin Hydration and TEWL between treatment and control group showed a statistical significance in 6 weeks. 5. In the secondary endpoint, Change of Skin Hydration of 1cm below the medial aspect of the elbow between treatment and control group showed a statistical significance in 3 weeks. 6. In the secondary endpoint, Change of Skin Hydration between treatment and control group showed a statistical significance in 3 weeks and 6 weeks except Center between the medial aspect of the elbow and the wrist in 3 weeks, and Change of TEWL between treatment and control group showed a statistical significance in 6 weeks. 7. To evaluate the safety of the products for the human body, Adverse events, EASI Score, Itching Symptoms Assessment, vital sign check were conducted; There were no severe adverse events during this study. And both experimental group and control group showed no abnormal level. Therefore, it is suggested that products, if used for certain period, should be safe for the human body. Conclusions : According to the above experiments, it is suggested that "Functional cosmetics containing Humulus japonicus Extract" should be effective for dry skin due to mild atopic dermatitis.

P-values are often perceived as measurements of degree of compatibility between the current data and the hypothesized model. In this paper, a new concept of Bayesian p-values is proposed and studied under the non-informative prior distributions, which can be thought as the Bayesian counterparts of the classical p-values in the sense of using the concept of significance level. The performances of the proposed Bayesian p-values are compared with those of the classical p-values through several examples.

This paper deals with the problem of testing the existence of change in mean and estimating the change-point using nonparametric bootstrap technique. A test statistic using Gombay and Horvath (1990)'s functional form is applied to derive a test statistic and nonparametric change-point estimator with bootstrapping idea. Achieved significance level of the test is calculated for the proposed test to show the evidence against the null hypothesis. MSE and percentiles of the bootstrap change-point estimators are given to show the distribution of the proposed estimator in simulation.

In this paper, we evaluate performance of existing similarity measurement metric and propose a novel method using user's preferences information entropy to reduce MAE in memory-based collaborative recommender systems. The proposed method applies a similarity of individual inclination to traditional similarity measurement methods. We experiment on various similarity metrics under different conditions, which include an amount of data and significance weighting from n/10 to n/60, to verify the proposed method. As a result, we confirm the proposed method is robust and efficient from the viewpoint of a sparse data set, applying existing various similarity measurement methods and Significance Weighting.

We propose some properties of fuzzy p-value and fuzzy significance level to the test statistics for the fuzzy hypotheses testing. Appling the principle of agreement index, we suggest two method for fuzzy hypothesis testing by fuzzy rejection region and fuzzy p-value with fuzzy hypothesis $H_{f,0}$.
