The influence of outdoor sky conditions on photosensor signals were examined to determine an appropriate index that is effectively used for optimum illuminance fluctuation when a daylight dimming system is used for a small office. Field measurements were conducted under various sky conditions. Results indicate that the outdoor global and vertical illuminance fluctuated within narrow ranges under clear and overcast sky conditions. The fluctuation of sky ratio under partly-cloudy sky caused wide ranges of illumnance fluctuation. A partially-shielded photosensor at backwall produced 56% of light output from fixtures controlled by a photosensor at ceiling. This implies that the photosensor at backwall does not always guarantee target illuminance due to the less output. The fluctuation of light output from fixtures were insignificant under clear and overcast sky. The fluctuation range of photosensor illuminance under partly-cloudy sky caused wide fluctuation ranges of light output. Regression result implies that the outdoor vertical illuminance was recommended for an effective index that is used for control of light output.
At present, using of electromagnetic control valve (ECV) in external variable displacement swash plate type compressor is a common issue. Solenoid operated ECV controls vehicle air conditioning system through a pulse width modulation (PWM) input signal that supplied from an external source. Different port pressure controls the swash plate movement inside the compressor at certain angles that finally determines the refrigerant flow rate to the vehicle compartment for passengers comfort. In this paper, crankcase pressure flow (Pc flow) is calculated with some ECV samples with corresponding to amount of variable supply of current ranges from 0.20Amp to 0.95Amp.

This paper presents a method for estimating the noise source contribution of a pulse combustion burner in a multiple input system where the input sources may be coherent each other. By coherence function method, it is found that the biggest part of the noise source in the pulse combustion burner is generated by the part of the combustion chamber. This analysis is modeled as three input / single output system because the noise generating mechanism of the pulse combustion burner is very complicated. The coherence function method is proved to be useful tool for the identification of noise source. The overall levels of the radiated source pressure by coherence function method are compared with those measured and calculated by the frequency response function approach. The experimental results have shown a good agreement with the results calculated by the coherence function method when the input sources are coherent strongly each other. The estimation of shield effect by FRF method indicates that significant reduction can be achieved in sound radiation if only transmission path generated by the part of combustion chamber is acoustically shield.
Many kinds of conditioning monitoring technique have been studied, so this study has inverstigated the possibility of checking the trend in the fault diagnosis of ball bearing, one of the elements of rotating machine, by applying the cepstral analyisis method using the adaptive noise cancelling (ANC) method. And computer simulation is conducted in order to verify the usefulness of ANC. The optimal adaptation gain in adaptive filter is estimated, the performance of ANC according to the change of the signal to noise ratio and convergence of least mean square algorithm is considered by simulation. It is verified that cepstral analysis using ANC method is more effective than the conventional cepstral analysis method in bearing fault diagnosis.

This study was performed to evaluate sleep efficiencies and conditions for comfortable sleep based on the analysis of sleep efficiency and MST under four thermals conditions ($22^{\circ}C,\;24^{\circ}C,\;26^{\circ}C,\;30^{\circ}C$). Five female subjects who have similar life cycle and sleep patterns were participated for the sleep experiment. Their age was from 20 to 22 years old. They were healthy, and had regular sleep with consistent bed and wakeup time. It was checked whether they had a good sleep before the night of experiment. Experiments were performed in an environmental chamber using thermo-hygrostat. The physiological signal (EEG) for sleep stage were obtained from C3-A2 and C4-Al electrode sites. Sleep stages were classified, then SWS latency and SWS/TST were calculated for the evaluation for sleep efficiencies on thermal conditions. As results, mean skin temperature for comfort sleeping was $34.5{\sim}35.4^{\circ}C$. Considering sleep efficiency and mean skin temperature, indoor room temperature of upper limit was $28.1^{\circ}C$.
Photovoltaic conditioning systems normally use a maximum power point tracking (MPPT) technique to deliver the highest possible power to the load continuously when variations occur in the insolation and temperature. A unique method of tracking the maximum power points (MPPs) and forcing the boost converter system to operate close to these points is presented through deriving small-signal model and transfer function of boost converter considering input capacitor. This paper aims at modeling boost converter including fairly large equivalent series resistance(ESR) of input reservoir capacitor by state-space-averaging method and PWM switch model and compares both methods using Bode plots. In the future, properly designed controller for compensation will be constructed in 3kw real system for maximum photovoltaic power tracking control.

Increasing of the nonlinear type power electronics equipment, power conditioning systems (PCS) have been researched and developed for many years in order to compensate for harmonic disturbances and reactive power. PCS's not only improve harmonic current and power factor in the ac grid line but also achieves energy saving used by the renewable energy source (RES). In this paper, the implementation of a current controlled voltage source inverter (CCVSI) using RES for PCS is presented. The basic principle and control algorithm is theoretically analyzed and the design methodology of the system is discussed. The proposed system could achieve power quality control (PQC) to reduce harmonic current and improve power factor, and demand side management (DSM) to supply active power simultaneously, which are both operated by the polarized ramp time (PRT) current control algorithm and the grid-interactive current control algorithm. A 1KVA test model of the CCVSI has been built using IGBT controlled by a digital signal processor (DSP). To verify the proposed system, a comprehensive evaluation with theoretical analysis, simulation and experimental results is presented.

An experimental facility consisting of two $3{\times}4.4{\times}3.8m$ rooms identical in construction is built. Each room has a control system and storage tank supplying hot water to the radiant floor heating system. The facility enables simultaneous comparision of two different control stratigies each implemented in a separate room. The operating performance of three kinds of flow control scheme is tested and compared in this study : (i) conventional on-off control based on feedback from room air temperature (ii) TPSC(two parameter switching control) (iii) TPOC(two parameter on-off control). Results show that TPSC and TPOC using room air and surface temperature sequentially as feedback signal to control hot water supply is the better temperature regulation scheme than conventional control based on feedback from only room air temperature. They are good candidates for the room with radiant floor heating system under continuous and intermittent heating mode.

As a result of the depletion of fossil fuels and environmental contamination, it has become important to use renewable energy. For the stable utilization of renewable energy sources, energy storage devices must be used. In addition, renewable and distributed power sources with energy storage devices must operate stably under grid-connected mode. This paper proposed dynamic response modeling for renewable power generation systems including a charger/discharger with an energy storage device in order to derive a method to guarantee stable operation while fully utilizing the energy from the energy storage device. In this paper, the principle operation and design guidelines of the proposed scheme are presented, along with a performance analysis and simulation results using MATLAB and PSIM. Finally, a hardware prototype of a 1kW power conditioning system with an energy storage device has been implemented for experimental verification of the proposed converter system.
