  • This paper introduces a monolithic chip 3.3V high-performance continuous-tune filter used in a CDP that can reconstruct the PDM or PWM signal output of a .SIGMA..DELTA. D/A converter. We also mentioned an active RC filter structure and filter order satisfying high-linearity and the design specification. In desigining the OP-AMP, using a structure that accepts some distortion we could reduce the chip area, and reducing the DC path using a new biascircuit gave us better power performance. The designed.SIGMA..DELTA. D/A converter post-processing filter does its smoothering operations and reconstructs the data without reducing the performance of the system.

  • In this research, we have compared and analyzed the value driven from theoretical equation of Boussinesque, Westergaard, Newmark and K$\"{o}$ogler with our experimental value from the model test on the underground stress distribution condition. As a result of conducting the Model Test, a change in the underground stress according to the loading was proven to be very similar to the tendency shown in the theories of Westergaard. A tendency of increasing in a straight line was shown in the underground stress according to the increase of loading. When compared to that of the theoretical equation, underground stress values were great until the depth of 15cm. However, after that depth, a tendency of showing smaller value than that of the theoretical equation was shown. Correlations between Moving Repeated Load (or) and Underground Stress ($\Delta\sigma$) show $\Delta\sigma\;=\; 0.009\cdot{\sigma}r-0.1$(depth 60 cm).

  • This paper introduces a sigma-delta DAC with a fully-differential current-mode semidigital IFIR postfilter. A proposed fully-differential postfilter exhibits not only an improved SNR(signal-to-noise ratio) but also a reduced opwer dissipation.

  • We introduce a new class of ${\sigma}$-coherent frames and show that HA is a ${\sigma}$-coherent frame if A is a ${\sigma}$-frame. Based on this, it is shown that a frame is ${\sigma}$-coherent iff it is isomorphic to the frame of ${\sigma}$-ideals of a ${\sigma}$-frame. Finally we show that ${\sigma}$-COhFrm and ${\sigma}$Frm are equivalent.

  • A sigma-delta modulator based class-D audio amplifier is presented. Parallel digital input is serialized to two-bit output by a fourth-order digital sigma-delta noise shaper. The output of the digital sigma-delta noise shaper is applied to a fourth-order analog sigma-delta modulator whose three-level output drives power switches. The pulse density modulated (PDM) output of the power switches is low-pass filtered by an LC-filter. The PDM output of the power switches is fed back to the input of the analog sigma-delta modulator. The first integrator of the analog sigma-delta modulator is a hybrid of continuous-time (CT) and switched-capacitor (SC) integrator. While the sampled input is applied to SC path, the continuous-time feedback signal is applied to CT path to suppress the noise of the PDM output. The class-D audio amplifier is fabricated in a standard $0.13-{\mu}m$ CMOS process and operates for the signal bandwidth from 100-Hz to 20-kHz. With 4-${\Omega}$ load, the maximum output power is 18.3-mW. The total harmonic distortion plus noise and dynamic range are 0.035-% and 80-dB, respectively. The modulator consumes 457-uW from 1.2-V power supply.

  • Since the examination of CTOD problem revealed that the discrepancy among CTOD's was a matte., of definition, the relationships among parameters based on different definitions have been studied Particularly, the relationship between $\sigma$BS R-curve based on BS 7448 and R-curve based on the recently introduced $\sigma$5 parameter was investigated in this research. For the comparison, compact tension specimens of used 1Cr-0.5Mo steel, heat treated 1Cr-0.5Mo steel to mimic the new one, A12024-T6, and A12024-T351 were prepared and tested. Consequently, the relationship between $\sigma$5 and $\sigma$BS R-curves for tested materials were established by shifting the rotational center which could determined by rotation factor and ligament size.

  • The Hammett's substituent constants were analyzed for the substituted-benzoic acid, -benzene and -naphthalene by LCAO MO method. Hammett's ${\sigma}$-values have been theoretically proved to treat as the sum of independent contribution of inductive effect and resonance effect. That is, Is (static inductive effect) and Id (dynamic inductive effect) corresponding to inductive effect are chosen as net charge and approximate self atom polarizability indices respectively, and ${\Delta}E^{HOMO}$ which is the difference in HOMO energy level between substituted molecule and unsubstituted molecule as resonance effect. In conclusion, it has been found that the observed ${\sigma}$-values depend on the sum of Id, Is and ${\Delta}E^{HOMO}$.

  • In this paper, we present a low-power delta-sigma based digital frequency synthesizer with high frequency resolution for bio sensor networks. Biomedical radio-frequency (RF) transceivers require miniaturized forms with a long battery life and low power consumption. For the technology scaling, digital circuits have become preferable compared to analog circuits because of the aggressive cost, size, flexibility, and repeatability. Therefore, the digital circuits based on standard-cell library are used to reduce a power consumption. Additionally, a delta-sigma is used for making fractional frequency tuning range. From the simulation, we confirmed that proposed scheme has good performance in accordance with power and frequency resolution.

  • A digital input class-D audio amplifier is presented for digital hearing aid. The class-D audio amplifier is composed of digital and analog circuits. The analog circuit converts a digital input to a analog audio signal (DAC) with noise suppression in the audio band. An interpolated digital delta-sigma modulator is used to convert data types between digital signal processor (DSP) and digital-to-analog converter (DAC). An 16-bit, 25-kbps pulse code modulated (PCM) input is interpolated to 16-bit, 50-kbps by a digital filter. The output signal of interpolation filter is noise-shaped by a third-order digital sigma-delta modulator (SDM). As a result, 1.5-bit, 3.2-Mbps signal is applied to simple digital to analog converter.

  • By examining the fatigue deformation properties of 12% Cr rotor steel which has been proved to have high fatigue and creep rupture strength around 600deg. C, authors reviewed major fatigue life prediction models such as Manson, Langer and Morrow equations, and following results were obtained. (1) A simple life prediction model for 12% Cr rotor steel was obtained as follows : DELTA..epsilon.$_{t}$ =2.18+.sigma.$_{u}$ /E+ $N^{-0.065}$+ $e^{0.6}$ $N^{-0.025}$ This equation shows that fatigue life, N, can be easily determined when total strain range, DELTA..epsilon.$_{t}$ and ultimate tensile strength, .sigma.$_{u}$ are known by simple tension test on the given test conditions. (2) Life prediction equation with equivalent maximum stress, DELTA..sigma./2, corresponding maximum strain in one cycle at room temperature is as follows: DELTA..sigma./w=-7.01logN+96.69+96.69
