Optical and Infrared Lightcurve Modeling of the Gamma-ray Millisecond Pulsar 2FGL J2339.6-0532

  • We report the detection of a quasi-sinusoidally modulated optical flux with a period of 4.6343 hour in the optical and infrared band of the Fermi source 2FGL J2339.7-0531. Comparing the multi-wavelength observations, we suggest that 2FGL J2339.7- 0531 is a ${\gamma}$-ray emitting millisecond pulsar (MSP) in a binary system with an optically visible late-type companion accreted by the pulsar, where the MSP is responsible for the ${\gamma}$-ray emission while the optical and infrared emission originate from the heated side of the companion. Based on the optical properties, the companion star is believed to be heated by the pulsar and reaches peak magnitude when the heated side faces the observer. We conclude that 2FGL J2339.7-0531 is a member of a subclass of ${\gamma}$-ray emitting pulsars -the 'black widows'- recently revealed to be evaporating their companions in the late-stage of recycling as a prominent group of these newly revealed Fermi sources.

대규모 스마트폰 센싱을 위한 문서 클러스터링 기법 (Document Clustering Scheme for Large-scale Smart Phone Sensing)

  • 스마트폰에 탑재된 센서들을 사용하여 사회 조직에서 발생하는 다양한 현상들을 모니터링하는 스마트폰 센싱 분야에서 대규모 데이터 처리 및 품질 향상과 수집된 정보를 공유하기 위해 시멘틱 데이터를 관리하는 것은 중요한 이슈 중에 하나이다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 대규모 시멘틱 데이터 관리 구조에서 서버의 부하를 줄이기 위한 문서 클러스터링 기법을 제안한다. 제안된 클러스터링 기법은 헤드 노드와 멤버노드를 갖는 하이브리드 백엔드 구조에서 서버단의 부하 감소를 위해 유사한 메타데이터를 갖는 노드들로 클러스터를 구성한다. 시뮬레이션을 통해 제안 기법이 기존의 거리기반 클러스터링 기법에 비해 서버부하를 줄일 수 있다는 것을 검증 하였다.

The antidiabetic drug rosiglitazone blocks Kv1.5 potassium channels in an open state

  • An antidiabetic drug, rosiglitazone is a member of the drug class of thiazolidinedione. Although restrictions on use due to the possibility of heart toxicity have been removed, it is still a drug that is concerned about side effects on the heart. We here examined, using Chinese hamster ovary cells, the action of rosiglitazone on Kv1.5 channels, which is a major determinant of the duration of cardiac action potential. Rosiglitazone rapidly and reversibly inhibited Kv1.5 currents in a concentrationdependent manner (IC50 = 18.9 μM) and accelerated the decay of Kv1.5 currents without modifying the activation kinetics. In addition, the deactivation of Kv1.5 current, assayed with tail current, was slowed by the drug. All of the results as well as the usedependence of the rosiglitazone-mediated blockade indicate that rosiglitazone acts on Kv1.5 channels as an open channel blocker. This study suggests that the cardiac side effects of rosiglitazone might be mediated in part by suppression of Kv1.5 channels, and therefore, raises a concern of using the drug for diabetic therapeutics.

119구급대의 법적분쟁 예방에 관한 연구 (Research on the prevention of legal dispute over 119 rescue team)

  • Purpose : To check the legal relation between rescue team and patient as well as legal responsibility for patient's damage intentionally or erroneously caused by rescue member, a public official, in the performance of relevant job ; to prevent legal dispute over rescue team and to present program for fair settlement of dispute and equitable and feasible burden of damage. Method : First, the legal principle of Civil Law, Criminal Law and Administrative Law related to the theme of this research will be investigated around research by literature. Second, the case of dispute related to rescue team will be introduced. Result: 1. If 119 rescue members as a public official intentionally or erroneously cause damage to patient in the performance of job, they shall bear civil, criminal and administrative responsibility. They shall bear civil responsibility for indemnity for damage due to default or tort. The typical criminal responsibility includes accidental homicide arising out of duty, preparing falsified official document, dereliction of duty, etc. In the administrative side, the state is responsible for indemnity for peculiar status of the rescue member, public official. 2. Though raising civil petition or legal dispute over unsatisfactory rescue service may be reasonable to guarantee the right of nation, such action may cause stress to rescue member as well as may lead to mental shrinking and defensive attitude only to take the basic first aid treatment which has low possibility of mistake instead of active first aid treatment so as to avoid legal responsibility. 3. The program that may prevent legal dispute over 119 rescue team includes expansion of manpower specialized in first aid treatment, enhancement of education on legal environment, development and application of standard job guideline, formation of mutual trust with patient, detailed explanation, preparing and keeping minute record, improvement of the rescue members' ability of first aid treatment and development of medical instruction mode. Conclusion : The best policy is to prevent legal dispute. If it is impossible to basically exclude the possibility of dispute, however, we need to make effort to minimize the occurrence, settle fairly and divide damage equitably and feasibly. To improve the preventible death rate of our first aid system to the level of advanced country, 119 rescue team which is in charge of the stage before hospital needs to positively enforce special first aid by improving the qualitative level of rescue service and to strive to prevent legal dispute that may occur in the process.

에폭시 코팅 처리된 PS강선의 정착부착성능 실험 (Tests on Transfer Bond Performance of Epoxy Coated Prestressing Strands)

  • 프리스트레스 프리텐숀 보의 전달길이를 위하여 콘크리트의 변형율에 의하여 부착력을 계측하는 간접적인 방법을 일반적으로 사용하여 왔다. 이 트랜스퍼 실험은 실제 보에서 행하여지므로, 실제 상태의 정착부착력을 계측할 수 있다는 장점이 있으나, 최대 정착부착응력과 부착강비를 구하기 난해하며, 그 결과가 매우 분산되어 있으므로, 구조 설계자가 안전한 적정기준을 이해하고 선택하기 어렵다. 콘크리트의 변형을 측정하지 않아도 PS 강선의 정착부착 성능을 얻을 수 있는 대안을 소개하였다. 실제 보에서 PS강재의 긴장을 풀 때와 유사한 상황에서 정축부착 응력을 직접 구하였다. 하중재하부에서 풀려진 PS강선의 긴장력은 하중재하부쪽 강선의 단면증가를 가져오고, 콘크리트 블록에 정착부착력을 발생시키며, 다른 방향(고정부 쪽)으로 슬립을 유발시킨다. 두 개의 중공 로드셀로 양단하중을 최대 부착응력 또는 전면슬립이 일어날 때까지 계측하였다. 프리텐션 콘크리트보의 정착부착 길이를 구하기 위하여 이 방법을 기존의 트랜스퍼 실험방법과 병행하여 사용할 것을 제안한다.

감은사지 삼층석탑 구조에 관한 연구 (A study on the structure of the Three storied Stone pagoda in Gameunsa Temple site.)

  • Three-story Stone pagodas in Gameunsa Temple site, one of the early staged stone pagodas, has been known as a standard of Silla stone pagodas. A stone pagoda is not only a stone art work and but also a stone architecture. In understanding the stone pagoda it is very important to be approached with technological side in which we can investigate the stone pagoda deeply and as well as to have been approached with art historical view. Also it needs that we should see the stone pagoda in view of structural safety. We can get many high technique from our ancestors who made Gameunsajiseoktap. 1. To reduce any deformation such as relaxation and sinking of members which is caused by a heavy load the members such as the lower tier of the base is made up of the foundation stone and side stone in each, comprising one stone. 2. A special construction method for connection between wall stone and column stone in stereobates was invented. It is to make column stone projected partially and wall stone be caved in that two members should be jointed well. This unique method is not used any longer after the three-story Stone pagodas in Gameunsa Temple Site. 3. In each side upper and lower member are not engaged as the size of roof stones and support stones of roof stones are different. It can be done for a distribution of perpendicular load and a prevention for relaxation of members. 4. It makes sure that to make upper ends of support stones 10mm lower was to be avoid upper loads to it judging from survey in disassemblying east pagoda. It proves that ancestors who made this stone pagoda had a technique to understand the structural matters to make small members as big as possible, not to engage in joint, to avoid in ends of members from upper load.

매입말뚝의 인발저항특성에 관한 연구 (Analytical Study on the Pullout Resistance Characteristics of Bored Pile)

  • 압축 부재인 PHC 말뚝(직경 600mm)도 강선의 부착력을 높이면 83.6~91.6tonf의 극한 인장력에 대해 구조적으로 저항할 수 있는 것으로 실험결과 나타났다. 이러한 시험결과에 안전율을 고려하여 적절한 허용값을 제시하면 부상방지 앵커를 대체하거나 절감시킬 수 있는 것으로 기대되었다. 이를 위해서는 구조적 인장성능과 함께 실제 지반에 시공된 매입말뚝의 인발저항 거동이 규명되어야 한다. 본 연구에서는 현장에 시공된 실제 매입말뚝의 인발거동 특성을 파악하기 위하여 정적 인발재하시험을 실시하여 주면마찰력 산정식과 비교하였다. 또한, 간편하게 인발저항력을 평가하기 위하여 PDA를 이용한 동재하시험을 실시하여 정적 인발재하시험 결과와 비교하였다. 그 결과, 매입말뚝의 시멘트풀이 충분히 경화한 후인 15일 후에는 LH 주면마찰력 산정식의 마찰력과 정적인발재하시험결과가 잘 일치하였고 동재하시험에서 구한 마찰력과도 비교적 잘 일치하는 것으로 나타났다.

차량충돌해석 적용을 위한 간단화한 성형이력 고려 방법 (A Simplified Method to Consider Forming Effects in a Car Crash Analysis)

  • This paper introduces a simplified method to consider forming effects in a car crash analysis. Representative value was used to consider forming effects simply. Four representative values, which are the mean value of thicknesses and effective plastic strains at nodes, the median of thicknesses and effective plastic strains at nodes, were evaluated. A crash analysis of a front side member shows that analysis results from the suggested methods are similar to those from the conventional method to consider forming effects. Use of the mean effective plastic strain shows the best results. A car crash analysis for a ULSAB/AVC model under the condition of US SINCAP were carried out to demonstrate the validity of the suggested method. Analysis results show that the error of suggested method is less than 1.5%.

리브 형상 변경에 의한 알루미늄 범퍼 백빔의 경량화 설계 (Light Weighted Design of Aluminum Bumper Backbeam by Rib Shape Change)

  • Optimized section shape of aluminum bumper backbeam for enhancing the front high speed crashworthiness was investigated. Front body analysis model of a convertible vehicle was built up and parameter studies were carried out with changing the inner rib shape and the section thickness distribution. First an inner rib shape displaying most efficient structural performance was selected. Next, for the selected section the effect of section thickness combination was examined. Also, a light weighed backbeam section displaying crash performance over the current design was suggested. Finally RCAR front low speed impact analyses were carried out for the optimized models.

승용차량에 대한 경트럭 및 SUV의 공격성 연구 (Research on Aggressivity of Light Truck Vehicle and SUV to Passenger Vehicle)

  • When two cars impact each other, it is usually known smaller vehicle's passenger likely to be more seriously injured than bigger one's. Generally it is known that SUVs and Light Truck Vehicles (LTVs) are bigger and heavier than passenger vehicles and their drive height such as bumper rail and side member, and front end stiffness are higher than those of passenger vehicles. Because of these characteristics the occupants of passenger vehicle struck by SUVs or LTVs are more likely to experience severe injury or fatal injury. To evaluate SUV and LTV's aggressivity to passenger vehicle, SUV to passenger vehicle and LTV to passenger vehicle head-on crash test have been carried out. And finally the way how to reduce incompatibility between SUV and LTV and passenger vehicles is suggested.
