  • This paper presents the characteristics of a double-cone broadband antenna with compact and three-dimensional structure that can be used in UWB system. The theoretical analysis is conducted using a finite difference time domain(FDTD) method. The parameters are the radius, a height of broadband double-cone antennas with shorting plate, and the number of plates on a ground plane. This paper examines influence of structural parameters on return loss. The results show that a condition for an optimum structure of broadband double-cone antennas with shorting plate exists. It also shows that the broadband double-cone antennas with shorting plate have radiation patterns similar to those of a dipole antenna. To verify the theoretical analysis, computed results are compared to experimental results.

  • A very small patch-type RFID tag antenna (UHF band) using ceramic material mountable on metallic surfaces is presented. The size of the proposed tag is 25 mm${\times}$25 mm${\times}$3 mm. The impedance of the antenna can be easily matched to the tag chip impedance by adjusting the size of the shorting plate of the patch and the size of the feeding loop. The measured maximum reading distance of the tag at 910 MHz was 5 m when it was mounted on a 400 mm${\times}$400 mm metallic surface. The proposed design is verified by simulation and measurements which show good agreement.

  • A novel folded dipole type microstrip patch antenna designed for ultrahigh frequency (UHF) band radio frequency identification (RFID) tag is presented in this paper, which can be used on the metallic objects. The presented antenna is fabricated on a very thin Rogers 5880 substrate with a thickness of 0.508 mm. The structure consists of two folded dipole and two symmetrical shorting pins placed at both sides of feed point. An adjustable frequency response can be easy obtained via modify the location and radius of the shorting pins. The antenna has been analyzed by full wave simulations soft. The simulated bandwidth is about 67.2 MHz, which covers the Europe and North America UHF RFID frequency range. A manufactured prototype has been fabricated and measured to demonstrate the antenna performances. The simulation results agree with the measurement data well. The measured maximum reading range of the prototype can be reached 4.1 m in free space, and 3.2 m on a metal plate whose size is $150{\times}150{\times}8mm^3$.

  • In this paper, multi-band internal antenna which can adjust both resonant frequency and input impedance of antenna as using lumped inductor between shoring plate and ground plane is proposed. The structure of proposed antenna consists of PIFA (Planar Inverted F Antenna) structure and half-wavelength loaded line structure and has two shorting plates and one feeding plate. One shorting plate is shared. The operating frequency bands of designed antenna are GSM, GPS in the PIFA structure and DCS, US-PCS, W-CDMA in half-wave loaded line structure as varying the inductor value in 2.2nH, 3.3nH, and 4.7nH. As varying the inductor value in the shared shorting plate, input impedance of antenna is varied. To minimize the gain variation of antenna as adding lumped element, the inductor value is restricted at maximum of 6.8nH. The maximum gain of proposed antenna is measured as -1.60dBi in the GSM band, -1.16dBi in the GPS band, and 1.41dBi in the DCS/US-PCS/W-CDMA band.

  • In this paper, an internal wideband DVB-H antenna using parasitic patch is proposed. The antenna consists of rectangular patch with system ground and shorting plate. The -10 dB impedance bandwidth of proposed antenna is about 530 MHz ($470{\sim}1000\;MHz$). Radiation patterns are nearly omni-directional for operating frequency. It is suitable for DVB-H application.

  • In this thesis, characteristics of compact PIFA are analyzed for operation in dual frequencies (dual-PIFA) as variety of parameters. The antenna is composed of two patches. These are operated in high frequency and low frequency. The dimension of experiential antenna is fixed for attaching at the handset. The variable parameters are dimension of small patch, length of shorting strip and dimension of folded conductor plate, the frequencies are 900 MHz and 1800 MHz. The compact antenna is implemented with 2-layer type, electric field intensities and radiation patterns are simulated. In order to analyze characteristics of a performance as variety of parameters, FDTD method is used.

  • Recently, research on the development of a composite slab system for shorting the construction period by simplifying the process by omitting the form work and the reinforcement placing is underway. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the long-term behavior of a simplified slab system that replaces the form work and tensile reinforcement using structural deck-plate and replaces the temperature reinforcement using steel fiber reinforced concrete. In the conventional composite deck-plate slab method, w.w.f is generally used for crack control by drying shrinkage. But previous research results by various researchers were pointed out it is not effective to control the shrinkage and temperature cracking. In this study, the long-term cracking and structural behavior of steel fiber reinforced deck plate slab specimen with two continuous spans constructed under typical load conditions were evaluated. Experimental results showed that the number and width of long-term cracks decreased remarkably in the simplified slab specimen, and the deflection was also decreased compared with conventional RC slab specimen. However, in the continuous end of the slab where the negative moment is applied, it is analyzed that reinforced details are necessary to control the crack width in the service load and to recover deflection at load removal.

  • Haeundae Doosan We've The Zenith project is adjacent to Suyoung-bay, now it is in the process of excavation and foundation work. The main use of the tower is residence which height is 300m and 80 floor, the highest residential reinforced concrete building through the Orient. It is comprised of 3 high- rised buildings and 1 low-rised building, the basement is 230m wide and 200m length sized mass structure. The lateral resistance system is acted effectively against the lateral load and satisfactorily against the wind vibration by the 4 direction extension of the center core wall($700{\sim}800mm$ thickness) and reinforced concrete column set around the slab. Flat-plate slab system(250mm thickness) is adjusted for the slab system and it enables effective work process and shortening the working term by minimizing the ceiling height and not needing to install perimeter beam and drop panel. The strength and serviceability of the structure is able to be monitored and estimated constantly through the health monitoring system during the construction and after the construction.
