Efficient Route Determination Technique in LBS System

  • Shortest Path Problems are among the most studied network flow optimization problems, with interesting applications in various fields. One such field is the route determination service, where various kinds of shortest path problems need to be solved in location-based service. Our research aim is to propose a route technique in real-time locationbased service (LBS) environments according to user’s route preferences such as shortest, fastest, easiest and so on. Turn costs modeling and computation are important procedures in route planning. There are major two kinds of cost parameters in route planning. One is static cost parameter which can be pre-computed such as distance and number of traffic-lane. The other is dynamic cost parameter which can be computed in run-time such as number of turns and risk of congestion. In this paper, we propose a new cost modeling method for turn costs which are traditionally attached to edges in a graph. Our proposed route determination technique also has an advantage that can provide service interoperability by implementing XML web service for the OpenLS route determination service specification. In addition to, describing the details of our shortest path algorithms, we present a location-based service system by using proposed routing algorithms.

워드넷을 이용한 문서내에서 단어 사이의 의미적 유사도 측정 (Semantic Similarity Measures Between Words within a Document using WordNet)

  • 단어 사이의 의미적 유사성은 많은 분야에 적용 될 수 있다. 예를 들면 컴퓨터 언어학, 인공지능, 정보처리 분야이다. 본 논문에서 우리는 단어 사이의 의미적 유사성을 측정하는 문서 내의 단어 가중치 적용 방법을 제시한다. 이 방법은 워드넷의 간선의 거리와 깊이를 고려한다. 그리고 문서 내의 정보를 기반으로 단어 사이의 의미적 유사성을 구한다. 문서 내의 정보는 단어의 빈도수와 단어의 의미 빈도수를 사용한다. 문서 내에서 단어 마다 단어 빈도수와 의미 빈도수를 통해 각 단어의 가중치를 구한다. 본 방법은 단어 사이의 거리, 깊이, 그리고 문서 내의 단어 가중치 3가지를 혼합한 유사도 측정 방법이다. 실험을 통하여 기존의 다른 방법과 성능을 비교하였다. 그 결과 기존 방법에 대비하여 성능의 향상을 가져왔다. 이를 통해 문서 내에서 단어의 가중치를 문서 마다 구할 수 있다. 단순한 최단거리 기반의 방법들과 깊이를 고려한 기존의 방법들은, 정보에 대한 특성을 제대로 표현하지 못했거나 다른 정보를 제대로 융합하지 못했다. 본 논문에서는 최단거리와 깊이 그리고 문서 내에서 단어의 정보량까지 고려하였고, 성능의 개선을 보였다.

Overall studies on the IMO manoeuvrability standard and problems arising in application of the criteria of it to various kinds of vessels

  • The IMO manoeuvrability standard was established for preventing sea accidents such as collisions and strandings due to the lack of manoeuvrability. The standard of ship manoeuvrability enforced by resolution MSC.l37(76) has been applied to vessels of 100m or more in length and all chemical tankers and gas carriers regardless of the length, which were constructed on or after 1 July 1994. The IMO manoeuvrability standard is able to be divided into three kinds as followings; (1) Turning capability standard: Estimated values in design stage are to be certified by turning circle test of the actual vessel. (2) Course keeping quality standard : Estimated values in design stage are to be certified by 10 deg. and 20 deg. zig-zag tests of the actual vessel. (3) Shortest stopping distance standard : Estimated value in design stage is to be certified by the shortest stopping distance tested by the actual vessel. In this paper, the authors verified the criteria of IMO manoeuvrability standard comparing them with the values resulted from sea trial tests of various kinds of actual vessels and examined separately the validity of all criteria of the standard.

교차로 구간 회전 및 감속을 고려한 트랜스포터 최소 공주행 운영계획 (An Operation Scheduling of Transporters Considering Turns and Passing Delay at the Intersection Roads on the Shipyard)

  • The operation planning of transports used to move blocks is the one of key factors. Furthermore, reducing the running time through the effective plan contributes to pulling forward the whole logistic process of the shipyard and substantially saving the fuel consumption of itself as well. The past researches of the transporter focused on finding only the shortest distances, so called, Manhattan distance. However, these searching approaches cannot help having the significant difference in the real operational time and distance with the minimum cost approach which considers the speed retardation for turns or safety at the intersection. This study suggests the noble transporter's operational model which could take account of the consuming operational time around the crossroads on the shipyard. Concretely, the proposed method guarantees the minimization of transporters' turns and passage number which are huge burdensome to the operation time and the whole planning of transports with the given period. Resultantly, this paper is willing to explain the appropriateness of our approach, compared with the previous ones.

Path Space Approach for Planning 2D Shortest Path Based on Elliptic Workspace Geometry Mapping

  • A new algorithm for planning a collision-free path based on algebraic curve is developed and the concept of collision-free Path Space (PS) is introduced. This paper presents a Geometry Mapping (GM) based on two straight curves in which the intermediate connection point is organized in elliptic locus ($\delta$, $\theta$). The GM produces two-dimensional PS that is used to create the shortest collision-free path. The elliptic locus of intermediate connection point has a special property in that the total distance between the focus points through a point on ellipse is the same regardless of the location of the intermediate connection point on the ellipse. Since the radial distance, a, represents the total length of the path, the collision-free path can be found as the GM proceeds from $\delta$=0 (the direct path) to $\delta$=$\delta$$\_$max/(the longest path) resulting in the minimum time search. The GM of elliptic workspace (EWS) requires calculation of interference in circumferential direction only. The procedure for GM includes categorization of obstacles to .educe necessary calculation. A GM based on rectangular workspace (RWS) using Cartesian coordinate is also considered to show yet another possible GM. The transformations of PS among Circular Workspace Geometry Mapping (CWS GM) , Elliptic Workspace Geometry Mapping (EWS GM) , and Rectangular Workspace Geometry Mapping (RWS GM), are also considered. The simulations for the EWS GM on various computer systems are carried out to measure performance of algorithm and the results are presented.

농촌마을 담장정비를 위한 설치환경 특성 분석 (Analysis on Characteristics of Installing Environment for Improvement of Boundary Barriers in Rural Villages)

  • With the basic research logic stating that the systematic improvement of rural housing plot's boundary barriers should call for the integrated consideration of their on-and-around installing settings, this study tries to analyse characteristics of installing environment of boundary barriers for improvement works of them. Through literature review and then screening process, 3 influencing and appraisal factors were determined: main house-boundary barrier shortest distance as on-site factor, building coverage as inside one, and attached road width as outside one. 21 study villages were subgrouped into structurally improved(9) and not(12). Site investigation and analysis results showed that the relationship between factors has varied very much, i.e. in some cases it is positive or complementary, but in other cases, negative or crossed. Therefore this study would propose that differentiated and flexible strategies with integrated consideration of on-and-around site installing settings be applied in their improvement projects rather than village-wide unified or straight forwarded ones.

  • 노선의 거리와 토공량은 노선의 계획시에 경제적인 인자로써 가장 큰 비중을 차지한다. 본 논문에서는 이 두 가지 인자를 고려하여 노선을 선정하는 방법에 대하여 연구하였고 실제로 경사가 균일하고 굴곡이 존재하지 않는 지형과 경사가 없고 굴곡만이 존재하는 두 지형을 선정하여 두 인자를 고려한 최적노선의 선정을 실행하였다. 연구결과 최단거리를 갖는 노선은 지형의 경사에 관계없이 굴곡정도에 따라 결정되었으며 토공량의 산정은 지형의 굴곡정도와 보간식에 영향을 받아 차이가 발생하였음을 알게 되었다.

표면 거리 기반 3차원 형태 기술자 (3D Shape Descriptor Based on Surface Distance)

  • 본 논문에서는 3차원 객체의 표면에서 이루어지는 최단 경로(Shortest Path)를 이용하여 3차원 객체의 전체적인 형태의 특성을 측정하는 3차원 형태 기술자를 제안한다. 제안하는 3차원 형태 기술자는 기존 방법에서 문제가 된 부분적 자세 변화에 대한 민감성 부분을 해결한다. 제안하는 방법은 새로운 형태 함수를 통해 3차원 객체의 전체적인 형태의 특성을 측정하여 형태 분포를 생성한다. 새로운 형태 함수는 표면에서 이루어지는 최단 경로를 기반으로 하는 최단 경로 형태 함수다. 3차원 객체 표면의 임의의 두 점을 선정한 후 그 두 점의 거리를 최단 경로 형태 함수를 통해 측정하며 이와 같은 형태 함수의 적용을 통하여 3차원 객체의 부분적 자세 변화에 강건하도록 한다. 기존의 형태 분포와 비교하여 성능을 평가한 결과, 관절 객체에 대해서는 약 23%, 일반 객체에 대해서는 약 12%의 성능 향상을 보였다.

3D 거리 센서를 이용한 강의용 광역 마이크 시스템 (Widerange Microphone System Using 3D Range Sensor)

  • In this paper, 3D range sensor is applied to the sensor-based widerange microphone system for lectures. Since the 2D range sensor measures the shortest distance of the speaker, an error occurs and the performance is degraded. The 3D sensor provides a 160×60 distance image so that the position of the speaker can be obtained with accuracy. We propose a method for obtaining the distance per pixel required to determine the absolute position of the speaker from the distance image. The proposed array microphone system using the 3D sensor shows the improvement of 0.8~1.5dB compared to the previous works using 2D sensor.
