증강현실 기반의 단기간 무릎운동이 관절가동범위와 균형에 미치는 영향 - 예비연구 (The Influence of Augmented Reality based Knee Exercise in Short Period on Range of Motion and Balance - Pilot study)

  • Purpose: This study investigated the effect of the augmented reality (AR)-based knee joint short period exercise program and used a motion analyzer with a 3D camera to determine the range of motion and dynamic balance and further investigate the effects of therapeutic exercise on patients. Methods: This study used AR-based motion analysis and a Y-balance test to measure the range of motion (ROM) of each joint: the hip joint and the knee joint. After the measurements, an exercise program was applied to the subjects, using the knee motion program function, and the muscles of the quadriceps femoris and the hamstring were stretched or strengthened. Results: Our results showed knee joint extension at the dominant hip joint flexion position. While there was no significant difference (p>.05) at this position, there were significant differences in the non-dominant hips, unbalanced knee joint flexion, and superior knee joint flexion (p<.05). The Y-balance test using the non-dominant leg supported by the dominant legs showed that the absolute reach was $69.70{\pm}7.06cm$ before the exercise, and the absolute reach after the exercise was $77.56{\pm}6.09cm$ (p<.05). Conclusions: There was a significant difference when the movement of the lower limbs supported the superior limbs, and a significant difference was found in the ROM when the non-dominant side supported the dominant side. Therefore, the AR-based exercise program improves the balance of the human body and the range of motion of the joints, and research that aims to improve patients abilities should continue.

  • The prevalence of obesity has been increasing worldwide. Several dietary treatments have been suggested to control weight, and recent guidelines recommend individualizing the composition of macronutrients. Carbohydrates are the most important nutrients in meals, and carbohydrate restriction is a dietary strategy that promotes weight loss. A low-carbohydrate diet is effective for short-term weight loss and can help improve glycated hemoglobin, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, and triglyceride levels; however, the long-term effects and safety of this diet remains doubtful. In the short term, there is a risk of gastrointestinal symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, and gastroesophageal reflux, and type 1 diabetes patients are at risk of severe hypoglycemia, while in the long term, it can lead to malnutrition and decreased exercise capacity. Thus, rather than limiting the intake of carbohydrates, it is important to limit the intake of refined grains, sugar, honey, syrup, and sweetened beverages while maintaining the planned carbohydrate intake rate and improving meal quality.

The Development of Exercise Accuracy Measurement Algorithm Supporting Personal Training's Exercise Amount Improvement

  • The demand for personal training (PT), through which high exercise effects can be achieved within short-term, has recently increased. PT can achieve an exercise amount improvement effect, only if accurate postures are maintained upon performing PT, and exercise with inaccurate postures can cause injuries. However, research is insufficient on exercise amount comparisons and judging exercise accuracy on PT. This study proposes an exercise accuracy measurement algorithm and compares differences in exercise amounts according to exercise postures through experiments using a respiratory gas analyzer. The exercise accuracy measurement algorithm acquires Euler anglesfrom major body parts operated upon exercise through a motion device, based on which the joint angles are calculated. By comparing the calculated joint angles with each reference angle in each exercise step, the status of exercise accuracy is judged. The calculated results of exercise accuracy on squats, lunges, and push-ups showed 0.02% difference in comparison with actually measured results through a goniometer. As a result of the exercise amount comparison experiment according to accurate posture through a respiratory gas analyzer, the exercise amount was higher by 45.19% on average in accurate postures. Through this, it was confirmed that maintaining accurate postures contributes to exercise amount improvement.

Relationships between Gross Motor Capacity and Neuromusculoskeletal Function in Children with Cerebral Palsy after Short-Term Intensive Therapy

  • Purpose: To investigate the relationship between gross motor capacity and neuromuscular function in children with cerebral palsy (CP) through a short-term intensive intervention. Methods: Twenty-four children younger than 6 years of age (17 boys, 7 girls, mean $age{\pm}standard$ deviation, $42.71{\pm}14.43months$) who were diagnosed with CP underwent short-term intensive treatment for 8 weeks. An evaluation of gross motor function capacity using the gross motor function measure (GMFM-66 and GMFM-88) was performed to measure muscle strength, selective motor control (SMC), and spasticity, factors related to neuromusculoskeletal function. Changes in spasticity, strength, range of motion, selective motor function, and exercise intensity scores were evaluated in terms of the gross motor function classification system (GMFCS) and ages. Results: The GMFM-88 and GMFM-66 scores significantly increased, by $4.32{\pm}4.04$ and $2.41{\pm}1.51%$, respectively, following the 8-week intervention. The change in the GMFM-66 score did not reflect a statistically significant difference in the GMFCS level. However, there was a statistically significant difference in the GMFM-88 score change in individuals at GMFCS Level III, the strength and spasticity of subjects at GMFCS Levels I-II did not significantly differ (p<0.05). The changes in the GMFM-66 scores for strength, SMC, range of motion (ROM), and spasticity significantly differed according to age (p<0.05) in children aged 36 months and older. Overall, there was a statistically significant difference in strength, SMC, and spasticity (p<0.05) before and after intensive short-term treatment. Conclusion: The 8-week short-term intensive care intervention improved the motor function score of study participants, emphasizing the need for early intervention and additional research in this area.

단기 가정방문물리치료 시행이 일상생활동작의 개선에 미치는 효과 (Effects on Improvement of Activities of Daily Living Through Short-Term Home Visiting Physical Therapy)

  • The objective of this study was to discover the effects of the short-term home visiting physical therapy program involving patients with some chronic brain disorders at Gimhae City, Kyongnam. Recovery of activities of daily living (ADL) is a very important factor of rehabilitative procedures, and Functional Independence Measure (FIM) is a useful standard of evaluation for it. The FIM is widely used in brain disorder research because it measures real functional activities of daily living. We applied the physical therapy exercise program twice per week (10~15 times repeatedly); a warm-up and cool down exercise performed every ten minutes by active & active-assistive ROM and stretching exercises. Main exercises were composed of getting up & laying down in bed, standing training, walking exercise in the room, and window or wall sliding exercise using affected upper limbs for a total duration of 30 minutes. We collected the data from 20 patients with chronic brain disorders at his/her home and analyzed by means of SPSS/PC+ program (Ver. 10.0). After the six week long physical therapy exercise program, the average was $56.10{\pm}22.59$ point compared with initial $50.55{\pm}19.12$ point by FIM, improved functional ADL ability about 5.55 point, and these changed scores were statistically significant (p=.000). We also studied another factor regarding patient's satisfaction. The majority of subjects (10 people) rated the program with the maximum score of ten points (50.0%), and three people rated it a seven point program (15.0%), the other two subjects gave a rating of nine and eight points (10.0%). Because the program was effective at improving the physical ADL ability and satisfaction of each subject, we suggest continual development and implementation of a home visiting physical therapy program. Further study should involve a longer period of observation with a larger population that is involved in an individually designed home physical therapy program.

운동프로그램의 효과 -소규모사업장 근로자를 대상으로- (Effects of Exercise Program for Workers in Small Enterprises)

  • Physical activity is one of important factors of the chronic disease. It was reported that Most of Korean workers didn't take exercise regularly. The purpose of this study is testing effects of exercise program, based on the Theory of Planned Behavior. 30 subjects participating in this study are workers in small enterprises and have not taken exercise regularly. Exercise program, which includes education, support, monitoring, and counseling, was conducted for 6 weeks. Effects of this program was evaluated by the change of exercise, attitude, subjective norm, perceived control. intention of exercise, perceived health states, and fatigue. The results of this study can be summarized as follows: 1. There was the significant difference between pre and post-test in the subjective norm, perceived control. and intention of exercise, but not the significant difference in the attitude of exercise. 2. 53.3% of the subject of this study had taken exercise regulary in the post-test. 3. There was not the significant difference in the perceived health states and fatigue, From the results, it can be concluded that the exercise program is effective, leading to the change of intention and exercise rate. On the other hand, it was not effective in Physiological aspects. It seems that these result was due to short term program. Thus, it can be recommended that studies are needed with longer term program and larger sample.

Relationships with expectations, exercise immersion and exercise continuation intention of Home Training participants (Focused on Police Officers)

  • 본 논문에서는 홈트레이닝의 기대감과 운동몰입, 운동지속의도와의 관계에 대해 제안한다. 연구의 대상은 2021년 3월 현재 부산, 경남 지방경찰청 소속 경찰공무원을 대상으로 한다. 그 중 홈트레이닝에 참여해 본 경험이 있는 337명을 대상으로 하여 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구결과, 첫째 홈트레이닝의 기대감은 운동몰입, 운동지속의도 요인과 유의한 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 홈트레이닝 참여자의 기대감은 운동몰입, 운동지속의도에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 홈트레이닝 참여자의 운동몰입은 운동지속의도에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 조사되었다. 각종 치안현장에 대비한 체력조건을 준비하기 위해 홈트레이닝은 유용하게 활용될 것이다. 단기간의 트레이닝이 아닌 장기간의 계획을 세워 트레이닝을 실시한다면 홈트레이닝이 추구하는 효과를 충분히 달성할 수 있을 것이다.

Streptozotocin유도 당뇨쥐의 단기간 capsaicin 섭취와 운동이 혈중 지질, 항산화 효소 및 Akt량에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Short-term Exercise and Capsaicin Supplementation on Serum Lipids, Antioxidants and Akt Contents in STZ-induced Diabetic Rats)

  • 본 연구는 50 mg/kg의 STZ로 유발된 당뇨쥐에서 단기간 운동과 capsaicin 섭취가 혈중지질, 항산화 효소 및 Akt량에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 31마리의 흰쥐를 대상으로 실험 하였다. 운동 군과 운동과 capsaicin을 병행한 군에서는 당뇨 유발 일주일 후 부터 15 m/min, 0%의 경사도로 25분간 주5회 2주간 트레드밀 운동을 실시하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 혈중 지질 농도는 capsaicin 섭취와 운동을 병행한 군에서 TG는 유의하게 감소하였고, HDL-C는 다른 군에 비해 유의하게 높게 나타났고, ROS는 당뇨군을 제외한 모든 군에서 유의하게 감소하였다. CAT는 capsaicin만 섭취한 군에서 유의하게 증가하였고, SOD은 운동만 처치한 군과 capsaicin만 섭취한 군에서 유의하게 높았으며, GSH는 당뇨군을 제외한 모든 군에서 유의하게 높은 것으로 각각 나타났다. Akt효소는 capsaicin만 섭취한 군, p-Akt는 운동군에서 유의하게 증가하였다.

Short-term Comparison of Supervised Rehabilitation and Home-based Rehabilitation for Earlier Recovery of Shoulder Motion, Pain, and Function after Rotator Cuff Repair

  • Background: This study was undertaken to compare the outcome of supervised and home exercises with respect to range of motion (ROM), pain, and Single Assessment Numeric Evaluation (SANE). We further correlated the ROM recovery and pain reduction as well. Methods: The study included 49 patients who underwent arthroscopic rotator cuff repair. Rehabilitation was initiated after 4 weeks of immobilization. A total of 29 patients performed supervised exercise 3 times a week. Standardized education and brochures for review were provided to the remaining 20 patients who insisted on home rehabilitation. Statistical analysis was performed for comparing pain Numerical Rating Scale (NRS), SANE, and ROM. In addition, we also evaluated the correlation between pain and ROM. Results: Comparison of the two groups revealed no significant differences in forward flexion, internal rotation, abduction, and pain NRS. However, SANE at the 9th week (63.8 vs. 55.0, p=0.038) and improvement of external rotation from the 5th to the 9th week (17.6 vs. 9.3, p=0.018) were significantly higher in the supervised exercise group as compared to the home exercise group. Correlation of pain NRS with forward flexion, external rotation, internal rotation and abduction were statistically not significant (correlation coefficient=0.032 [p=0.828], -0.255 [p=0.077], 0.068 [p=0.642], and -0.188 [p=0.196], respectively). Conclusions: The supervised rehabilitation after arthroscopic rotator cuff repair showed better improvement in external rotation and higher SANE score after 4 weeks of rehabilitation exercise. However, no statistically significant correlation was observed between the recovery of ROM and short-term pain relief.

딥러닝 기반 운동 자세 교정 시스템의 성능 (Performance of Exercise Posture Correction System Based on Deep Learning)

  • 최근 COVID-19로 인해 홈 트레이닝의 관심도가 증가하고 있다. 이에 따라 HAR(human activity recognition) 기술을 홈 트레이닝에 적용한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 기존 HAR 분야의 논문에서는 동적인 자세보다는 앉기, 일어서기와 같은 정적인 자세들을 분석한다. 본 논문은 동적인 운동 자세를 분석하여 사용자의 운동 자세 정확도를 보여주는 딥러닝 모델을 제안한다. AI hub의 피트니스 이미지를 blaze pose를 사용하여 사람의 자세 데이터를 분석한다. 3개의 딥러닝 모델: RNN(recurrnet neural networks), LSTM(long short-term memory networks), CNN(convolution neural networks)에 대하여 실험을 진행한다. RNN, LSTM, CNN 모델의 f1-score는 각각 0.49, 0.87, 0.98로 CNN 모델이 가장 적합하다는 것을 확인하였다. 이후 연구로는, 다양한 학습 데이터를 사용하여 더 많은 운동 자세를 분석할 예정이다.
