  • This study analyzed the body shape of adult women aged 20 to 59 with a waist and hip circumference difference of 22.00 cm or more to characterize the lower body shape of women with slender waist. The researchers analyzed the data using SPSS 26.0. Among the lower body measurements of women with slender waists, the waist circumference was 70.79 cm and the hip circumference was 95.25 cm, with a difference of 24.56 cm between the waist and hip circumferences. We categorized the components of a slender waist body type into four factors: lower body horizontal, lower body vertical, lower calf horizontal, and hip and crotch length. We categorized women with slender waists into four body types: slender long crane legs, short thick lamb legs, short thin ladder legs, and thick long pole legs. In their twenties, many people have slender, long-legged lower body, but as they age, they are more likely to have thicker lower bodies and short, thin ankles. Body types with slender waist had larger proportions of abdominal and hip dimensions in the width, circumference, and thickness categories based on waist dimensions than those with average or thick waists.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the body size and body characteristics of short-statured females in their 20s and 30s using direct measurement data from the 7th size Korea, and to analyze the differences in body dimensions and proportions between the regular and tall groups of short groups. The goal is to identify the dimension areas that need attention when designing and grading patterns for this short groups. As a result, it was found that the short group was shorter in height than the regular group, and the circumferential dimension was similar to the regular group. When designing patterns the tops, the grading of the Bust point-bust point is not necessary for the height, and it is not necessary to grade the Neck point to breast point in the short and regular group. These groups showed a difference in the front silhouette but not in the side silhouette. Based on these findings, the body types were classified into the following three types: 'most bulky and heavy', 'long lower body and small shoulder', and 'small and thin'. The type 1 population was the least distributed, and the relatively small and slim type was the most common. It is expected that the results of this study can be used as a reference when setting pattern designs, grading values, and production ratios by size for short women.

The quasi-experimental method by a $2{\times}3{\times}3\;(hairstyle\;{\times}\;hair length\;{\times}\;hair color)$ factorial design was used. Subjects were 343 women in Seoul, Korea. The bright brown hair was perceived to be less professional than the black and the dark brown. The straight hair was evaluated to be more professional than the wavy hair in the short and the medium length hair, whereas the wavy conveyed a higher professionalism than the straight style in long hair. The shorter the hair was, the more professional the image was. Among 18 stimuli, the short straight hair in black was evaluated to have the highest in professional image, and the long straight hair in bright brown was the lowest. Perceivers in their 40's and 50's evaluated the bright brown hair to be more professional than those in their 10's to 30's did. • This paper examines narratives of women's marginal position in Bao Ninh's Short Stories and Svetlana Alexievich's Unwomanly Face of War from a feminist narratological approach. In analyzing voices of marginalized women, direct and indirect descriptions of women's beauty and pain, and private-public narratives of women's love stories, this paper aims to identify presentations of women's real authority in the text written by a male author, Bao Ninh, and in the one by a female author. The paper argues that juxtaposing these texts reveals an overturn of the traditional conception of sexual and gender differences. Specifically, distinguishing between male/female discourse does not show powerful /nonpowerful language, but recognizes the real authority of each type of discourse based on sexual differences. The writing also illustrates that masculine language becomes powerless and deficient in the women's world; meanwhile, in writing about herself, woman establishes a type of a powerful feminine discourse, which blends both emotional, enthusiastic, and gossipy characteristics of female language and direct, rational, and strong ones of male language. Thus, the feminists' radical segregation on male/female discourses to overturn masculine authority and create a language for women at par with men has been clearly shifted when comparing the two writers' texts based on the juxtapositional model of the comparative literature.
