  • In order to predict the moldability of a injection molded part, a simulation of filling is needed. Short shot is one of the most frequent troubles encountered during injection molding process. The adjustment of process conditions is the most economic way to troubleshoot the problematic short shot in cost and time since the mold doesn't need to be modified at all. But it is difficult to adjust the process conditions appropriately in no times since it requires an empirical knowledge of injection molding. In this paper, the intelligent CAE system synergistically combines fuzzy-neural network (FNN) for heuristic knowledge with CAE programs for analytical knowledge. To evaluate the intelligent algorithms, a cellular phone flip has been chosen as a finite element model and filling analyses have been performed with a commercial CAE software. As the results, the intelligent CAE system drastically reduces the troubleshooting time of short shot in comparison with the experts' conventional methodology which is similar to the golden section search algorithm.

  • Injection molding process factors such as molding temperature, injection pressure, flow rate and flow velocity, must be controlled properly in filling and packing phases in the injection molding process. In this study, effects of these factors on the injection molding were investigated through the flow analysis for the filling and packing phases. Molding troubles like flow mark weld line, sink ma가 short shot and warpage car be caused by these injection molding process factors. Among them the short shot was caused by the fact that the packing pressure could not reach properly to the filling end part in the packing phase and hence the flow rate could not be supplied to the full. In addition as the flow rate for the volumetric shrinkage during the f개zen phase could not be supplied Properly by the packing pressure, the short shot appeared. Here, the volumetric shrinkage reduced with increasing the packing pressure and also the warpage of molded part increased with increasing the packing Pressure.

  • The purpose of This study's aim is to examine the difference in the changes of body segment movement, variables for ball quality, and carry at golf driver swing according to the ball quality using comparative analysis. Regarding the impact variables according to the ball quality using the track man and carry, club speed was the fastest at draw shot, ball speed was the fastest at straight shot, and smash factor was the lowest at draw shot. About the vertical launch angle, the fade shot showed the highest launch angle while the max height of the ground and ball was the highest at fade shot. And carry was the longest at draw shot. For the flight time, it was the longest at draw shot. The landing angle was the largest at fade shot. About the club head position change and trajectory, at the overall event point, the fade shot drew a more outer trajectory at the point of the follow through(E6) than the straight or draw shot. Regarding the angular speed of shoulder rotation, at the overall event point, the fade shot showed the greatest angular speed change in the follow through(E6). Also, about the angular speed of pelvic rotation, at the overall event point, the draw shot showed the greatest angular speed change at the point of down swing(E4). Concerning the stance angle change, both straight and fade shots were open as the concept of open stance whereas the draw shot was close as that of close stance. Regarding the previous study, the most important factor of deciding Ball Quality is the club face angle's open and close state at Impact. In short, the Ball Quality and carry were decided by this factor.

  • A short shot is a molded part that is incomplete because insufficient material was injected into the mold. Any factors that increase the resistance of polymer melt to flow or prohibit delivery of sufficient material into the cavity can cause a short shot. Inappropriate injection pressure is one of the most common factors which cause a short shot. Conventionally, domain experts in injection molding decide and modify the pressure based on their experience. It is difficult for a non-expert to decide the pressure properly with the considerations such as a part dimension, shape, and other processing variables. In this study, fuzzy algorithm is proposed to standardize the empirical determination of the pressure so that not only the experts but also non-experts can find the appropriate injection pressure easily. To acquire the more accurate results. domain experts should be interviewed and then technical documents which are collected from the experts should be restored in the fuzzy rule base. But in this study, simulations have been done by using C-MOLD to settle the rule base because it takes much time and also it's difficult to meet and interview the experts.

  • Short shot is a molded part that is incomplete since insufficient material was injected into the mold. Remedial actions to solve short shot can be dune by injection molding experts based on their empirical knowledge. Modifying mold and part, changing resin to less viscous one, and adjusting process conditions are general remedies. Experts of injection molding might try to adjust process conditions such as mold temperature, melt temperature, injection time based on their empirical knowledge as the first remedy because adjustment of process conditions is the most economic way in time and cost. However it is difficult to find appropriate process conditions as they are highly coupled and there are so many elements to be considered. In this paper, a fuzzy logic algorithm has been proposed to find an appropriate mold temperature. With the percentage of the insufficient quantity of an injection molded part, an appropriate mold temperature can be obtained by the fuzzy logic algorithm.

  • Polymers such as polypropylene or polyethylene offer a unique feature of producing an integral hinge, which can flex over a million times without causing a failure. With such advantage manufacturing, time and cost required at the assembly stage can be eliminated by injecting the whole part as one piece. However, due to increased fluidity resistance at hinges during molding, several defects such as short shot or premature hinge failure can occur with the improper selection of gate locations. Therefore, it is necessary to optimize flow balancer in injection molding of part with hinges before actually producing molds. In this paper, resin flow patterns depending on several gate positions were investigated by numerical analyses of a simple strip part with a hinge. As a result, we found that the properly determined gate location leads to better resin flow and shorter hesitation time. Finally, injection molding tryouts using a mold that was designed one of the proposed gate systems were conducted using polypropylene that contained 20% talc. The experiment showed that hinges without defects could be produced by using the designed gate location.

  • This paper studies an experimental analysis of the impulse noise of K2 rifle when its bullet passes through the large tube(length 1.84m, outer diameter 50cm, glass wool & steel). In experiment, the characteristics of the sound of shooting were different according to the way of shooting; the results of the experiment are given below. First of all, the shooting sound was lower in single-shot shooting, when compared to 3rds burst-shot shooting, difference averaging 2.8dB, 4.0dB at maximum. In short, the difference is minuscule. Secondly, the sound of the K2 rifle was diminished when shot in a tube, ranging from 2.7dB to 15.4dB, averaging 8.2dB. Thirdly, the shooting sound of the K2 rifle was diminished as the insertion depth deepened with formulas given in Fig. 5, 6. Fourthly, basic data for excluding sound of the shooting were presented. Lastly, the characteristics of the shooting sound could be equally used as a basic material for developing marksmanship and sharp-shooting detection device.

  • The purpose of this study was to provide high school male shot putters training methods of gliding and delivery motion through comparative analysis of kinematic characteristics. To accomplish this purpose, three dimensional motion analysis was performed for the subjects(PKC, KKH, YDL) who participated in high school male shot putter competition on 92nd (2011), 93rd (2013) National Sports Festival. The subjects were filmed by four Sony HXR-MC2000 video cameras with 60 fields/s. The three-dimensional kinematic data of the glide, conversion and delivery phase were obtained by Kwon3d 3.1 version. The data of the shoulder rotational angles and projection angles were calculated with Matlab R2009a. The following conclusions had been made. With the analysis of the gliding and stance length ratio, the gliding length was shorter at the TG than the SG with short-long technique but the gliding and stance length ratio was 46.8:53.2% respectively. The deviation of the shots trajectory from APSS(Athlete-plus-shot-system) revealed that the PKC showed similar to "n-a-b-c-I" of skilled S-shape type, KKH and YDL showed "n-a-d-f-I'" of unskilled type. Furthermore, they showed smaller radial distance from the central axis of the APSS and the shots were away from the linear trajectory. From this characteristics, The PKC who performed more TG than SG had shorter glide with S-shape of APSS(skilled type) showed the better record than others with technical skill. But KKH and YDL had bigger glide ratio with "n-a-d-f-I'" of unskilled type and improved their records with technical factor. The projection factor had an effect on the record directly. Because PKC maintained more lower glide and transition posture with momentum transfer through COG's rapid horizontal velocity respectively the subject possessed the characteristics of high horizontal and vertical velocity with large turning radius from shot putter to APSS.

  • In this study, the effects of shot peening (SP) on the Vickers hardness of $ZrO_2$ were studied. The size of the shot balls were ${\phi}180{\mu}m$ and ${\phi}300{\mu}m$. The Vickers hardness was measured using an indentation load of 98 N and 294 N. The Vickers hardness was evaluated using Weibull statistical analysis. The scale parameters were significantly evident from the indentation load of 98 N and the shot ball of ${\phi}180 {\mu}m$. Generally, the shape parameters were also evident from the small short ball (180sp). Thus, it is shown that the introduction of a compressive residual stress by SP is an effective technique for increasing the mechanical properties of $ZrO_2$.
