The study of characteristics of Making-Switch for Short Circuit Test (대전력 시험용 Making Switch 특성에 관한 고찰)

  • Making-Switch는 대전력 시험에 있어 가장 중요한 시험 설비중의 하나로 시험 회로를 최후에 폐로하여 전류를 피시품에 인가하는 역할을 한다. 정확한 시험을 위해 투입 위상각을 정밀 제어할 수 있어야 하며 이는 Closing time error에 따라 결정된다. 또한 빈번한 투입과 대전류 투입등의 가혹한 사용 조건하에서도 문제없이 동작하기 위해 각 부품에 따라 특수한 특성이 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 Making-Switch의 일반 사항 및 그 특성에 관하여 고찰하여 보았다.

  • 실제 가정 및 공장에서 많이 사용되고 있는 저압 차단기는 안전성 및 성능의 신뢰성이 가장 중요한 제품이다. 이와 같은 저압 차단기의 성능평가를 위해서는 반드시 단락성능에 대한 검증이 이루어져야 한다. 단락성능을 검증하기 위한 단락시험설비의 측정시스템은 시험 신뢰도의 확보를 위해 주기적으로 교정하여야 하며, 그 결과를 저압 차단기의 성능평가 시에 적용해야 한다. 본 논문에서는 여러 가지 기기로 구성된 전압 측정시스템에서 각각의 계측기를 개별적으로 교정하지 않고, 전체 측정시스템을 하나의 기기로 간주하고 교정을 실시하는 방법을 통하여 전체 측정시스템에 대한 신뢰도를 확보하고자 한다.

  • This paper presents an assessment method in integrity of the windings in cast resin molded transformers by using vertical analysis of thermal distribution. The proposed method is to compare the temperature distribution in a sound specimen with that in the faulted specimen with a layer to layer short circuit. Temperature distribution was acquired by an infrared thermography system, and the Arrhenius equation was adopted to the accelerated test. The proposed method can be used to detect the failures in the transformers.

  • Ignitabilility of explosive gas mixture by spark of dry cell in case of short circuit by accident was studied for the purpose of evaluation of intrinsically safe characteristics of dry cell that manufactured in Korea. IEC type spark test apparatus, $21{\pm}2$ Vol% of hydrogen - air mixture, and dry cell that produced in Korea was used for the experiment. The result of this research could be used for design, manufacturing, and using the intrinsically safe electrical apparatus.

  • This paper presents the real-time PCB(Printed circuit board) inspection system that can detect thin open/short error using the line scan camera. After a overall introduction of our system, the outline of our inspection methods are described. The goal of our inspection system is the real time and detailed inspection using the line scan camera. To perform inspection processing in real-time, we utilize double buffering structure. In order to solve the problem of unexpectable pixels of PCB, we propose melting process which eliminates unexpectable pixels of PCB. The design and development of our prototype of PCB ins- pection system is discussed and test results are presented to show the effectiveness of the developed inspection algorithm.

  • The sub-cooled nitrogen cooling system at 65 K with GM cryo-cooler is developed for cooling down the DC reactor of 6.6 ㎸-200 A class HTS Fault Current Limiter(SFCL). The sub-cooled nitrogen cooling is more economic than saturated nitrogen cooling, because the length of HTS wire is reduced in the same capacity, as well as, more stable. The cooling system with the GM cryo-cooler installed on the cryostat is not only compact but also efficient for energy saving. In the nitrogen vessel, after evacuating with vacuum pump to saturated nitrogen at 65 K, sub-cooled nitrogen at 65 K is made by putting in gas helium to 1 atm. During the short circuit test occurring the fault current of 1000 A, the sub-cooled nitrogen cooled DC reactor for SFCL is kept the state of sub-cooled nitrogen at 65 K.

  • AC loss of a high $T_c$ superconducting conductor has a strong influence on the economic viability of a superconducting fault current limiter, which offers an attractive means to limit short circuit current in the power systems. Therefore, several samples of the fault current limiting coils have been fabricated and the effect of conductor's arrangement and current direction on AC loss characteristics investigated experimentally The test result shows that the AC losses measured in the fault current limiting coils depend significantly on the conductor's arrangement. Futhermore, they are also considerably influenced by the conductor's current direction. The AC loss measured in the face-to-face arrangement is smallest among the fault current limiting coil samples.

  • 차단기는 전력계통에서 사고시 고장점을 분리 차단하여 계통을 보호하고, 복구 완료시 전원을 투입하는 장치로 전력기기 중 가장 중요한 제품이며, 특히 저압 차단기는 실제 가정 및 소규모 공장에서 많이 사용되고 있어 안전성과 성능의 신뢰성이 가장 중요한 제품이므로 단락성능에 대한 성능평가가 이루어져야 한다. 이와 같은 단락성능평가를 위한 단락시험설비의 측정시스템은 시험 신뢰도의 확보를 위해 주기적으로 교정하여 사용하여야 한다. 본 논문에서는 측정시스템으로 구성된 각 계측기의 교정 결과를 이용하여 전체 측정시스템을 교정하고자 한다.

A Novel Hybrid Fault Location Sensor Employable to the Power Transmission Systems (가공 송전선의 사고 및 낙뢰 검출을 위한 새로운 하이브리드 센서)

  • In this work, a novel hybrid FL sensor consisting of two Rogowski coils has been designed for the installation on the ground wire of the transmission tower. The operation range of these coils is as follows: 30kA for the fault current comingfrom the ground fault or short-circuit and for the lightning current up to 150kA over 500kHz. Thus, two important functions could be provided: one is to detect the fault current and the other one is to find the fault location between towers or the location of induced lightning stroke. The on-site investigation at 800kV test yard has been under progress for its on-site application.

EFFICIENT DESIGN OF CAPACITOR DISCHARGE IMPULSE MAGNETIZER SYSTEM FOR 8-POLE MAGNET

  • This paper describes the efficient design, analysis method and experimental verification of capacitor discharge impulse magnetizer system. A capacitor discharge magnetizer system is used to produce a high current impulse of short duration in this magnetizing fixture. The parasitic resistance and parasitic inductance of the capacitor discharge impulse magnetizer system have been estimated using known air-core test coil. Finite element analysis (using MAXWELL 2-D field simulator) and magnetizing circuit analysis (using SPICE) are also used as part of the design and analysis process of the capacitor discharge impulse magnetizer system. Application study for a magnetizing fixture design is shown. 8-pole magnetizing fixture has been designed and analyzed using finite element analysis. The fixture design for 8-pole magnet are presented along with the experimental results. The experimental results have been achieved using a high-voltage, high-energy capacitor discharge impulse magnetizer and 8-pole iron core fixtures (charging voltage : 2000[V], capacitor bank : 4000[$\mu\textrm{F}$]).
