RFID 데이터를 이용한 고객 쇼핑 동선 패턴 분석 (Shoppers' Shopping Path Pattern Analysis using RFID Data)

  • As the retail industry has been challenged by stiff competition, the retailer becomes more interested in better understanding consumers' in-store behavior to gain and sustain competitive advantage. Consumers' shopping paths provide valuable clues to understanding customers' in-store behavior, which has been a long standing research issue in business. This study is to explore the shopping path patterns in a grocery using RFID technology and clustering method. To this end, we designed the RFID systems, affixing active RFID tags to the bottom of grocery carts. The tag emit signal that is received by receptors installed at various location throughout the store. The RFID systems provide the time and location of the cart while consumers shop around the store. The point of sale data are matched with the cart movement records to provide a complete picture of each shopping path. To find the distinctive patterns of consumers' shopping paths, we proposed the distance-index matrix using dijkstra method and normalization method to conduct the clustering in order to handle the problem in measuring the similarity among shopping paths, which is raised by the spatial nature of consumer movement in a grocery. After analyzing the RFID data obtained in one of the groceries in a major Korean retailer, we could successfully identify several distinctive patterns of shopping paths, which prove to provide the valuable implications for store management.

글로벌 마케팅을 위한 미국과 한국, 중국 소비자들의 니트웨어 구매 패턴 연구 (A Cross-Cultural Research of Knitwear Purchasing Behavior of U.S., Korean, and Chinese Female College Students)

  • The purpose of the study was to analyze the difference in knitwear purchasing behaviors of female college students in the U.S., Korea, and China. It was developed questionnaire that included knitwear purchasing behavior that is fashion information sources, evaluation criteria of knitwear products, store attributes of knitwear, knitwear buying places, and purchasing experience of foreign-made knitwear. The final sample used in this study consisted of 119 female college students in U.S., 150 female college students in Korea, and 217 female college students in China. Aged from 18 to 33. ANOVA, factor analysis, Duncan's multiple range test, frequency, and percentage as analysis methods were used. The results of the study were as follows. The preference of knitwear among the respondents was shown highly. This result is due to a world-wide trend of casual clothing, and is to prove, that knitwear is that made with flexibility, drape, and stretch, is the item that is able to satisfy consumer's desires. Knitwear preference of knitwear the U.S. respondents was shown highly, and buying intention of them was also high, not only for sweaters and t-shirts but for pants, skirts, jackets, coats, and dresses as well. Knitwear information the U.S. respondents considered important, was not only purchasing experience but also shop display and magazine advertisements. By evaluating criteria of knitwear, the U.S. respondents considered good fit, design, color, and comfort important, and they didn't consider the country of origin important. By store attributes of knitwear, the U.S. respondents specially considered the display, variety, price level, and sale frequency of merchandise. The respondents of China was shown higher than them of Korea in the intention of all items. Knitwear information the China respondents considered important, was not only purchasing experience but also shop advertisements of Newspaper and magazine and fashion articles in Newspaper and magazine. By evaluating criteria of knitwear, the China respondents considered good fit, design, color, and comfort important, and they considered fiber content and the country of origin higher than the respondents of U.S. By Store attributes of knitwear, the China respondents specially considered product knowledge and friendliness of sales personnel, Layaway payment plan, Brand names, New Fashion, and Dressing Facilities higher than the respondents of U.S. or Korea.

국내 플라워샵 판매현황에 관한 연구 -품목별 판매율이 높은 화훼상품과 성수기를 중심으로- (A Study on the Sales Status for Flower Shop in Domestic : Emphasis on Peak Season and Flower Products with High Rate Sales by Items)

  • 본 연구는 플라워샵에서 판매되는 상품들의 품목별 판매량이 많은 화훼상품과 성수기 현황을 조사하고자 하였다. 국가기술자격 화훼장식기능사 및 기사 자격을 취득한 (사)화훼장식 기사협회 회원이며 꽃집을 운영하는 자 103명을 대상으로 설문 조사를 하였다. 연구 결과 화훼상품 판매 성수기는 5월(52.0%)과 2월(24.3%)이 1, 2위로 나타났고 선정이유는 5월은 가정의 달, 스승의 날 등 2월은 인사이동, 졸업식 등이었다. 분류별 판매량이 많은 화훼상품을 조사한 결과 절화는 연간, 성수기 모두 꽃다발(51.5%%, 40.3%)과 꽃바구니(28.8%, 37.5%)가 1, 2위로 나타났고, 연간 판매량 조사에서는 6위였던(1.8%) 코사지가 성수기에는 3위(8.0%)로 판매량이 증가하였다. 분화는 연간, 성수기 모두 관엽식물(50.6%, 51.3%)과 서양란·동양란(27.4%, 28.3%)이 1, 2위로 나타났고, 연간 판매량 조사에서는 응답이 없었던 숯부작과 분재가 성수기에 각 0.7%와 2.6%로 판매량이 증가하였다. 가공화는 연간, 성수기 모두 동일하게 건조화(45.3%, 39.5%), 프리저브드 플라워(27.7%, 37.2%)가 1, 2위로 나타났고, 뒤이어, 인조화, 압화, 콜라주 순이었다.

관상어 시장규모 및 인식도 분석을 통한 관상어산업의 개선과제 (Improvement of Ornamental Fish Industry through analysis of recognition and market scale of the Ornamental Fish)

  • This study estimated the size of ornamental fish market as the basis survey for the development of the ornamental fish industry in Korea. It presents improvement projects agendas for the development of the Korean ornamental fish industry by investigating the challenges of the ornamental fish industry and consumer awareness. First, looking at the size of the ornamental fish market, calculated on the basis of survey results, the size of ornamental fish market is analysed as 231.8 billion won. The actual ornamental fish market is presumed to be much larger than this considering unclear gross sales from e-commerce and group sales, goods excluded from the ornamental fish export, expensive ornamental fish transaction from smuggling are missing. Ornamental fish industry and consumer awareness survey results can be described as follows: First, revenue structure of the ornamental fish market depends on a handful of expensive purchasing group rather than on low-cost consumption group. Second, many members of the ornamental fish producers, wholesalers, road shops are small-scale. Third, the sale of aquarium fish and aquarium fish related supplies in road shop have different market structures. Fourth, ornamental fish consumption is in the ongoing recession. Fifth, ornamental fish industry hopes for expansion of distribution and Research & Development. Sixth, satisfaction of ornamental fish consumers is generally low. As described above, ornamental fish industry in Korea are vulnerable in the market structure and industry is small and the consumer's satisfaction degree is staying in the 'normal' level. If current state will continue, future consumption can be reduced. It is necessary to increase the competitiveness by using various method including reorganization of the structure of the ornamental fish industry even though it is hard to reach conclusion only with the results of the survey.

'버버리 프로섬'의 사례를 통해 본 전통 브랜드의 현대화 연구 - 오리지널 버버리와 버버리 프로섬의 디자인 비교를 중심으로 - (A Case Study on the Modernization of Traditional Brands, 'Burberry Prosum' - Focused on the Design Comparison between Original Burberry and Burberry Prosum -)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyse the successful modernization strategy, and the difference between original Burberry and Burberry Prosum design. This will help in providing the fundamental information to Korean luxury fashion brands. Burberry, in particular, is rated as the most popular luxury brand in Korean fashion market. This brand has also rated 5th in sale worldwide and 1st in Korea in 2002, and was continuously been rated in 10th for the last 5 years. Related articles, fashion magazines, fashion web-site were used in this analysis, and the method was theoretical and case study. The results are divided into two categories of internal and external factors and two design patterns of check pattern and trench coat were observed. First of all, internal factor in Burberry is that they have scouted a new CEO and quickly changed their image with famous British models for the purpose of marketing strategies. They have also moved their main shop in London to Bond street, and opened shops in every country's capital cities. They were successful in achieving this by using celebrity marketing strategies with many famous celebrities. Secondly, external factor was that they have hired a designer named Christoper Bailey and this highlighted and enhanced the check pattern and trench coat. As a results, more generalized and diverse design items were presented and accessory line was enhanced, creating a much more younger image. This in turn attracted more younger customers. To sum up, original Burberry focused on classic designs, however Burberry Prosum focused on transforming traditional Burberry design into avant-garde and young. In other words, the reason for the success of this brand is highly dependent on its marketing strategies in which its uniqueness of schizophrenic cloche has appropriately represented and used in design.

지능형 온라인 핸드메이드 서비스 도입을 위한 구매자 의사결정모형에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Buyer's Decision Making Models for Introducing Intelligent Online Handmade Services)

  • 산업혁명 이후 기계로 만든 공산품이 시장의 대부분을 차지하고 있지만, 최근에는 장인의 노력, 품질에 대한 믿음, 제품의 희소성, 제품을 사용함으로써 얻는 자부심 등을 이유로 많은 소비자들이 같은 범주의 공산품보다 더 비싼 가격을 주고 핸드메이드 제품을 구매하고 있다. Etsy.com은 세계 최대 온라인 핸드메이드 플랫폼으로 2015년 4월 기업공개에서 2조원이 넘는 자금을 조달하면서 온라인 핸드메이드 플랫폼의 잠재력을 증명하였다. 그러나 실제 온라인 플랫폼 환경에서 이루어진 지능형 서비스 관련 선행연구들을 살펴보면 대부분 공산품만을 대상으로 하고 있어, 핸드메이드 제품에 대한 학술적 접근이 충분히 이뤄지지 않고 있음을 알 수 있다. 이에, 본 연구에서는 신호 이론과 온라인 플랫폼에서의 구매자-판매자 관계 특성에 대한 선행연구를 바탕으로 온라인 핸드메이드 플랫폼에 적용 가능한 핵심 특성요인인 입점 상점 특성(명성, 규모)과 입점 상점 관계특성(정보공유, 관계기간)을 도출한 후, Etsy.com 웹사이트에서 웹 하베스팅 방법으로 수집된 데이터를 이용하여 실증 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 입점 상점 특성 가운데 명성과 규모, 그리고 입점 상점 관계특성 가운데 정보공유는 입점 상점의 총 판매량에 유의한 영향을 주는 것으로 확인되었다. 또한, 입점 상점 특성 중 명성, 그리고 입점 상점 관계특성 중 관계기간은 입점 상점의 가격 프리미엄에 유의한 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과로 온라인 핸드메이드 플랫폼에서 지능형 서비스 도입 및 운영을 위한 효과적인 관리 기준을 제시하고, 나아가 입점 상점이 핸드메이드 제품에 대한 판매량 증진 및 가격 프리미엄 극대화를 위한 실질적 전략 마련에 도움이 될 수 있기를 기대한다.
