The purpose of this study was to analyze biomechanical factors of trail running shoes applied to korean shoe-lasts. 10 healthy male subjects with an average age of 37.2 years(SD=8.28), weight of 69.6 kg(SD=10.56) and a height of 171 cm(SD=4.93) were recruited for this study. Ten males walked on a treadmill wearing four different shoes. Foot pressure data was collected using a Pedar-X mobile system(Novel Gmbh., Germany) operating at the 1000 Hz. Surface EMG signals for tibialis anterior, gastrocnemius, vastus lateralis and biceps femoris were acquired at 1000 Hz using Noraxon TeleMyo DTS system(Noraxon Inc., USA). Foot pressure and leg muscle fatigue were measured and calculated during walking. The results are as follows: After walking 60 minutes, Type A showed a lower MPF. MPF values were significantly different from each muscle(p<.05). Therefore, Type A shoe might decrease muscle fatigue in the legs while walking. In addition, Type It showed that Type A shoe has the highest contact area and the lowest maximum pressure. As a result of the analysis, Trail running shoes will use a new design to reduce muscle fatigue and are expected to increase comfort and fitting.
The hydraulic piston using a hydrostatic bearing has been used widely due to its satisfying performance at very high pressurized circumstance and relative higher power density in comparison to conventional one. For high pressurization, enhanced efficiency and long durability of the hydraulic piston, the design of hydrostatic bearing is at issue, which is installed between piston shoe and swash plate. The performance of the hydrostatic bearing is influenced significantly by the assembly of the piston shoe consisting of circular land and recess. In this study, to estimate the performance of the hydrostatic bearing, the characteristics for lubrication of the assembly of the piston shoe were investigated by measuring a leakage rate of hydraulic fluid under an experimental condition, where a rotating velocity of the piston, hydraulic pressure and temperature of the hydraulic fluid were changed systematically. In addition, a film thickness of the hydraulic fluid on the piston shoe was measured and compared to theoretical one.
The purpose of this study was to analyze quantitative and qualitative differences according to shoe type for the grand jete landing in ballet. The subjects for this study were 9 female ballet majors with an average of 12 years of experience. Subjects jumped, performing a front split, and landed on 1 foot, a movement called the grand jete. Analysis was performed on the students' landing. Independent variables were 3 shoe types: split sole, traditional out sole, and 5-toed forefoot shoes, with bare feet as a control group. Dependent variables were vertical passive ground reaction force and qualitative elements. Passive ground reaction force variables(maximum passive peak value, number of passive peaks, passive force-time integral, and center of pressure) were measured by the Kistler 9281B Force Platform. Qualitative elements were comfort, cushioning, pain, and fit. Statistical analysis included both 1-way ANOVA and Tukey's test for follow-up. Finalized data demonstrated that the 5-toed forefoot shoe allows the forefoot to expand and the toes to individually press down upon landing, increasing foot contact with the surface. Five-toed forefoot shoes minimize passive peaks and pain, while increasing comfort, cushioning, and fit. Most ballet movements are composed of jumping, balancing, landing, and spinning. Wearing 5-toed forefoot shoes allows for a natural range of movement in each toe, to improve both technique and balance. Pain and injuries from ballet can be minimized by wearing the correct shoe type. According to this analysis, it is possible to customized ballet shoes to increase the efficiency of techniques and movements.
This study reveals the components of college women's shopping orientations and compares the attributes of shoes accordingly. This study attempts to investigate the needs of consumers in the target market of young women by comparing the importance of shoe attributes with their shopping orientations and to provide basic data for efficient marketing strategies which could increase sales. Data was collected using a questionnaire survey. Of a total of 330 questionnaires, 319 were used for statistical analysis. The survey was carried out from July to August 2016. The 17 shopping orientation-related questions and 13 questions about shoe purchase attributes were measured using a five-point Likert Scale. SPSS 23 was used to carry out: descriptives, factor analysis, reliability analysis, cluster analysis, ANOVA, and Duncan's test. Shopping orientations were divided between brand orientation, pleasure orientation, trend orientation and utilitarian orientation. Shoe attributes were categorized into ostentation value, product value, economic value and aesthetic value. College women were divided into the following groups: active shopping, passive shopping, rational shopping and conforming shopping. According to the comparison of the importance of shoe attributes by consumer type among college women, a significant difference by group was found in ostentation value and aesthetic value only. Furthermore, the average scores on the importance of product value and economic value were very high without significant differences between groups. The study results would be available as basic data to help improving the visual image of shoes and product quality for brands targeting young women in the fashion industry.
The design of soccer studs is important for providing friction on a variety of surfaces. We hypothesized that a certain type of soccer studs could improve performance due to high rotational friction. Thus, this study was conducted to determine the relationship between the frictional characteristics and different soccer stud design. Twelve recreational soccer players were recruited. Rotational friction data from the force plate was collected for all subjects during normal walking with 180 degree rotation. Walking speed was controlled at 1.2m/s (${\pm}\;0.1\;m/s$) with timing lights on infilled artificial turf. Three different types of soccer studs and one running shoe were tested. Repeated measures ANOVA was used to determine significance. Significant differences were found in rotational friction with four different shoes. Trx and World studs tended to have greater maximum rotational friction than the running shoe (Nova) and traditional soccer shoe(Copa Mondial). The results were as follow : world(25.95Nm) > trx(25.74Nm) > copa(22.50Nm) > nova(16.36Nm). The difference may be due to the number, location, size, and shape of studs. We concluded that stud design influences rotational friction between the shoe and surface during movement. Based on studs design and contact area, Trx with blade type studs are recommended since it showed high rotational friction for performance as well as enough contact area for stability. However, differences due to the mechanical properties of soccer studs are still being investigated.

In swash plate type axial piston hydraulic pump and motor, the piston shoe is periodically pressurized with square function shape by supply pressure load as rotation of cylinder barrel. Therefore the recess pressure on bottom part of piston shoe is suddenly increase through orifice in the piston shoe. In this study, we simulated that the frequency response of the recess pressure against with change of supply pressure with analysis tool. Also, we evaluate the dynamic response characteristics of overbalanced hydrostatic bearing with change of the orifice diameter.

In order to investigate the soil disturbance induced by anchor-shoe for PVD installation and the anchoring mechanism, a new two dimensional testing system was developed. By using the developed testing system, 1g and centrifuge model tests were performed, simulating the driving-retrieval process of both conventional symmetric anchor shoe and new asymmetric anchor shoe. Various size anchor-shoes were simulated and the results were compared. The images recorded during the installation were analyzed by image processing technique. The results of the image analysis presented the clay disturbance depending on the size and type of anchor shoe. In addition, from the retrieval process, the anchoring mechanism was revealed and the holding capacity was measured. As results, the size of anchor shoe influences the soil disturbance and holding capacity. The new asymmetric anchor shoe reduces the soil disturbance and improves anchoring performance.
Because the regulation for a noise and a vibration in our country has been being reinforced more and more, a more environment-friendly pile construction method than a current low-noise and low-vibration method was needed for the close construction in the downtown area. In this study, the characteristics of a screw concrete pile method for noise and vibration-free method was explained, and it's vertical bearing capacity was studied in the base of the static pile load test data of the screw concrete piles. Constructed by two methody; a pre-digging shoe type construction method and a toe-jetting shoe type construction method. The vertical load bearing capacity of a screw pile constructed by the former was more about 70% than that of a screw pile constructed by the latter.

The purpose of this research is to investigate the effects of different shoe-cleat position on pedalling performance. Four male elite triathletes(age: $22.00{\times}2.16years$, height: $175.12{\pm}8.06cm$, weight: $71.20{\pm}7.89kg$, body fat: $16.62{\pm}3.56%$) and three female elite triathletes(age: $20.00{\pm}1years$, height: $158.40{\pm}2.42cm$, weight: $51.30{\pm}3.89kg$, body fat: $19.26{\pm}2.28%$) participated in 10km time trial and 30sec time trial pedaling tests with the individual time trials based on different shoe-cleat position(cleat front: CF, cleat back: CB). The subjects performed one trial with each type of shoe-cleat position. Maximal power output and average speed were not significantly different during 30s time trial in CF compared with CB. Average power, RPM, and HR were not significantly different during 10k time trial in CF compared with CB. Split time in 1km, 5km, 9km were significantly reduced during 10k time trial in CB compared with CF. We conclude that there was performance advantage in CB using shoe-cleat back position in comparison with CF using shoe-cleat front position.
The purpose of this study were to analyze the anthropometric data of feet of Korean women with aging, to categorize the women's foot shapes, and to compare the shoe size according to the foot shapes in order to provide the basic information for more comfortable shoes. Subjects of this study were 181 women over age 20. They were measured with the direct measurement method and the indirect measurement method. 26 items were measured from the right foot and 6 items were taken on foot outline. Factor analysis, cluster analysis, analysis of variance, post-hoc test, and cross tabs were peformed for statistical analysis of the data by SPSS program. There were significant differences in height items, breadth items, girth items, and angle items by subjects' age. The older subjects' feet were wide and thick with big deformity on toes. The arch height of the older ones was low. This implicates that the degree of deformity on toes, the foot ratio, the foot girth, the foot breath and the arch height as well as the foot length are needed to be considered in developing comfortable shoes. Nine foot construction factors were extracted by the factor analysis of anthropometric measurements; foot size factor, heel and instep factor, malleolus lateralis factor, malleolus medialis factor, foot shape factor, shape of toes factor, heel height factor, big toe height factor, and internal factor. On the basis of the cluster analysis, three different foot shapes were categorized. Type 1 was large and wide foot with little deformity on little toe. Type 2 was medium foot with deformation of big toe, and with the lowest arch height. Type 3 was small and narrow foot with the highest arch height. Distribution of shoe size according to the foot shape was analyzed. The ball of foot breath was of wide distribution than the ball of foot girth. This implicates that girth items and breath items of the foot should be enclosed for the same foot length in the shoe sizing system.
