The purpose of this research is to verify the strategic fitness and relevance of the distribution park for hub port in Northeast Asia and to find a method to be a hub-port with a competitive edge. The Strategic factor of distribution park development are policy, methodology and promotion method. So these factors are analysed by structural equation model. The essential results of the research show that distribution park should be actually developed to product value-added and connected to industry park to be port cluster.

Hull forms of Jiao Yi Ship for shipping and foreign trade in Silla and Tang Dynasty were transformed and developed in accordance to their voyage and rational routes. The trade ship was a sea ship, used by Chang Po Go's, the Silla great sea merchant ship, in the marine trade with China during the 8th and 9th century. It is not easy to presume the hull type and trade formal of Chang Po Go's Jiao Yi Ship of the 8th and 9th Century. Studying on the ship type of the trade ship is the urgent problem to be solved, in the sphere of leaning about the history of communication between China and Korea. The authors take the initial prove into this subjects, by researching Chang Po Go's marine activities, and point out that the trade ship's original type should be the Sha Ship which was the sea ship sailing th sea in northern China, in the Tang Dynasty. This study aims to present materials concerning hull forms of Chang Po Go's Jian Yi Ship by analysing ancient voyage history, foreign trade history, and ship history of Silla, Tang and Japan during the 8th and 9th century.

By the rapid expansion of containerization and intermodel transportation in international shipping since the 1970's, the larger containerships have emerged and concentrated their calls at a limitted number of ports. Moreover, large-scale container terminals have been built to accommodate the ever-larger containerships, and the mordernization of terminal facilities and many developments in information technology etc. have been brought out. Thus, unlimited competition has been imposed on every terminal with neighbouring ports in Japan, Singapore, Hongkong and Taiwan etc. The purpose of this study is invested to suggest how the container terminal operators cope with unlimited competition between local or foreign terminals. The results are suggested as follows : First, transshipment cargoes, which the added value is high, is to be induced. Second, the function of storage is given on On-Dock Yard. Third. Berth Pool Operation System is introduced, especially in Gamman Container Terminal and Kwangyang Container Terminal. Fourth, the cargo handling charges is decided by terminal operator.

This paper aims to suggest the strategies for Korea port, especially Busan to develope into a viable transhipment center and/or Hub port as the articulation points between mainline and feeder nets. To tackle this goal, the authors clarify the requirements for Korea port which will be critical in determining its position as Hub through the careful analysis on competitiveness, environmental impact, port policy and capacity, transhipment traffic and inherent ablity to generate traffic. The results are summerized as follows. (1) Coping with increasing container volumes, new investment is sustainedly necessary to increase the capacity and inherent ability of container port and create economies of scale. Moreover, increasing port capacity will increase the potential for the Korea port's inclusion into mainline rather than feeder networks. (2) Considering an increasing awareness of need for customer-oriented option s and service quality rather than simply a reliance on infrastructure-led efficiency, privatization of one sort or another and corporation of port have been key strategies in achieving greater efficiency in Korea containerport.

EHV power cables can take any damage during shipping, transportation, handling, storage and installation. As the damage influences a reliability of the power cable system in the short and long periods, field tests have been required, for installers, to confirm the reliability of an installed system and, for utilities, to make sure the compatibility of an installed system. Of field tests, a HV withstand test for the cable insulation has been performed to check the soundness of the insulation. For EHV XLPE power cables, the test has been done by applying a specified d.c voltage till lately. But as some problems with the d.c test is emphasized and the equipment for the a.c test is improved, the a.c test is considered positively as an after-installation test. This paper describes the recent trends of the a and its recent application in the field.

최근 국제해사기구(International Maritime Organization, IMO)는 "극지를 운항하는 선박에 대한 안전기준(Polar Code)"를 제정하여 결정하기로 하였으며, 2012년까지 완료하여 법제화하기로 하였다. 이는 최근의 극해 지역의 연속적인 사고의 심각성에 대한 대비책의 일환이다. 2004년도에 알라스카 앞바다에 침몰한 Selendang Ayu 는 6600만 톤의 콩, 170만 리터의 연료유와 55,564 리터의 MDO 및 다른 오염물질을 바다에 유출하였다. 이는 주변의 동물들에게 심각한 영향을 끼쳤고, 아직까지도 유출되어진 오염물질들을 완전히 처리하지 못한 상태이다(Arctic marine shipping assessment, Arctic council 2009.). 즉, 기름이 유출을 하면 방재시설이 다른 육상에서 오기 전까지는 상당히 오랜 시간 동안, 사고 지역 주변을 오염시키게 되며, 유빙이나 극한의 온도는 방재 작업을 더욱 힘들게 한다. 본 연구에서는 극해와 같은 해역에서 기름이 유출 하였을 때에 대응하는 방법, 즉 현존하는 기계적인 복구 방식, 점화식 처리 방식 과 유처리제 방식을 소개하고, 그에 대한 국제규정 및 기술 발전 동향에 대해서도 설명한다.

Nuclear power is one of energy sources which has the safety and economic feasibility in supply. However, due to the recent disaster in Fukushima, Japan, the safety issue of nuclear power is now come to the fore again. For example, Germany and Italy they cancel some projects on nuclear power launching. In South Korea also, a lot of safety concerns are discussed and small and big accidents occur. Thus, this study suggests the supply chain management system based on RFID to improve safety and efficiency at the same time.

Korean shipbuilding industry increased a considerable amount of orders recently. It is time to build up the concept of Digital-Ship, and develop the fundamental technology to operate or manage an oceanic vessel safety and also economically for the world shipping industry, now. In this paper, all sorts of low-ranked devices, system components, integrated protocol, and ship-shore supporting system, which shares information between ship and shore by utilizing a low-orbit satellite communication will be described.

Due to the international economic downturn and the increasing competition, container terminals have been trying to achieve cost effectiveness and high service levels. Shipping companies want to get better services from container terminals but container terminals only have limited space and equipment. Frequently, too many external trucks come to the terminal at the same time, and create bottle necks at the terminals. Ouside the container terminals traffic jams occur as well. As a result, stakeholders need a vehicle booking system. By VBS, container terminals can plan efficiently in advance to avoid work delay and the truck drivers can finish their jobs quickly. This paper aims to search efficient models for the container terminals by using VBS.

It is difficult to expect the service improvements such as increased number of sailing and making new ship due to financial difficulty this is caused by deterioration of island dwellers. In addition, the safety of ship operation is also a problem with the supply of good sailors difficult problem of low wages and lack of safety working environment. T It is necessary to ensure the introduction of public operating system in coastal passenger shipping business to secure the public and safety. There are many practical constraints but if we obtain public sea ways, it will be possible to improve the operating system through the implementation from a subsidized line and taking off business licenses of an insolvent enterprise by enhancing safety control.
