In the country where the population concentrates in the metropolis with the narrow land, development of the ocean space is necessary. Recently, mega-float offshore structure has been studied as one of the effective utilization of the ocean space. And very large floating structures are now being considered for various applications such as floating airports, offshore cities and so on. This very large structure is relatively flexible compared with real floating structures like large ships. when we estimate dynamic responses of these structures in waves, the elastic deformation is important, because vertical dimension is small compared with horizontal. And it is necessary to examine the effect of ocean wave external force received from the natural environment. In this study, the mat-type large floating structure is made to be analytical model. And the analysis of the dynamic response as it receives regular wave is studied. The finite element method is used in the analysis of structural section of this model. And the analysis is carried out using the boundary element method in the fluid division. The validity of analysis method is verified in comparison with the experimental result in the Japan Ministry of Transport Ship Research Institution. In order to know the characteristics of the dynamic response of the large floating structures, effects of wavelength, bending rigidity of the structure, water depth, and wave direction on dynamic response of the floating structure are studied by use of numerical calculation.
The ultrasonic wind sensor that pass through the air, beating the delivery of ultrasonic wind speed increases or decreases by the physical characteristics of the wind speed and the direction of the sensor, the transmission and reception of ultrasonic time difference measured by a two-axis vector wind and wind speed measured by calculating a device that converts the digital signal is Anemometer and wind direction meteorological facilities management, management of the ship sail used for various purposes, including, but used the existing 3-cup (mechanical) anemometer wind rotor caused by mechanical wear parts replacement due to the short-term, the reliability of the product is low, parts replacement, and according to the characteristics caused the car, there is a problem in high maintenance costs. In addition, because the bearings use of the marine environment and the cryogenic environment was constrained. In this study, the excellent long-term reliability, using ultrasonic-type environment that is not constrained to produce wind anemometer located $90^{\circ}$ conformal road using four piezoelectric sensors were fabricated structures, the piezoelectric oscillator circuit produces a rash and receiving transmit and receive speeds the car through the two-axis vector calculation to measure wind velocity processor firmware programming, and its characteristics were tested.
Underwater explosion shock response analysis of a nonlinear double resiliently mounted equipment on a MIL-S-901D Large floating Shock Platform(LFSP) was carried out using LS-DYNA3D/USA. As a nonlinear double resiliently mounted equipment, real main engine module of naval ship was considered, where the engine, bearing, and base frame including sound enclosure were treated as rigid bodies with six degrees of freedom. The nonlinear effects of resilient mounts on its shock response characteristics were examined, and the usefulness of our suggested method was also confirmed comparing with calculation results by the equipment maker.
The finite volume based multi-block RANS code, WAVIS developed at KRISO, is used to simulate the turbulent flows around a submarine with the realizable $\textsc{k}-\varepsilon$ turbulence model. RANS methods are verified and validated at the level of validation uncertainty 1.54% of the stagnation pressure coefficient for the solution of the turbulent flows around SUBOFF submarine model without appendages. Another SUBOFF configuration, axisymmetric body with four identical stem appendages, is also computed and validated with the experimental data of the nominal wake and hydrodynamic coefficients. The hydrodynamic forces and moments for SUBOFF model and a practical submarine are predicted at several drift and pitch angles. The computed results are in extremely good agreement with experimental data. Furthermore, it is noteworthy that all the computations at the present study were carried out in a PC and the CPU time required for 2.8 million grids was about 20 hours to get fully converged solution. The current study shows that CFD can be a very useful and cost effective tool for the prediction of the hydrodynamic performance of a submarine in the basic design stage.
Safety operational envelope (SOE) is the area which guarantees the safety of a submarine from the accident such as jamming and flooding. The maximum safe depth is set to prevent the damage to the hull from increasing water pressure with depth. A minimum safety depth is set to prevent a submarine from the exposure above the free surface and collision against surface ship. The prediction method for the SOE in the design phase is needed to operate the submarine safely. In this paper, the modeling and calculation methods of the SOE are introduced. Main ballast tank blowing modeling and propeller force modeling are conducted to simulate the accidents and the recovery process. The SOEs are established based on the crash stop and emergency rising maneuver simulation. From the simulation results, it can be known that the emergency rising maneuver is more effective recovery action than the crash stop.
In an environment where a large number of weapons are operated compared to a large number of ground targets, it is important to monitor and manage the targets to set up a fire plan, and through their multilateral analysis, to equip them with a priority order process for targets having a high threat level through the quantitative calculation of the threat level. Existing studies consider the anti-aircraft and anti-ship targets only, hence, it is impossible to apply the existing algorithm to ground weapon system development. Therefore, we proposed an effective threat evaluation algorithm for multiple ground targets in multi-target and multi-weapon environments. Our algorithm optimizes to multiple ground targets by use of unique ground target features such as proximity degree, sorts of weapons and protected assets, target types, relative importance of the weapons and protected assets, etc. Therefore, it is possible to maximize an engagement effect by deducing an effective threat evaluation model by considering the characteristics of ground targets comprehensively. We carried out performance evaluation and verification through simulations and visualizations, and confirmed high utility and effect of our algorithm.
This paper carried out numerical analysis for estimating the propulsion performance of the model scale ONRT benchmark model of'Tokyo 2015 a workshop on CFD'. The method reflecting the scale effect of ITTC'78 method and form factor were used to compare the estimates of the effective wake ratio of full-scale. The numerical calculation was performed with Siemens's Star-CCM+, compared with IIHR model tests and the numerical analysis results of other research institutes, showing good agreement. In the case of an open stern and twin skeg ship, the validity of the ITTC'78 method can be confirmed by assuming that the effective wake ratio estimated from the numerical analysis results of model scale is similar to the effective wake ratio of full-scale.

In order to achieve a good and competitive FPSO design, the building cost and the motion performances are the two most critical and conflicting KPIs to be considered. In this study, the author's previous work (Lee, et al., 2021) on the optimization of an FPSO's hull dimensions with 1800 MBBLs storage capacity at Brazil field was extended using a multi-objective parametric optimization with the hull steel weight and the operability which are closely related to the building cost and the operational cost during the lifetime, respectively. For the purpose of more realistic and practical FPSO design, the constraints related to crew comfort and the safe helicopter take-off and landing operation were newly added. Also, the green water on deck was calculated accurately to check the suitability of the designed freeboard height using a newly developed real-time calculation module for the relative wave elevations. With aids of this updated optimization formulation, we presented multiple optimal FPSO dimensions expressed as a Pareto set which aids FPSO designers to conveniently select the practical and competitive dimensions. The excellence of the developed approach was verified by comparing the optimization results with those of FPSOs dimensioned for operation at West Africa and Brazil field.
A submarine is optimized to operate below the water surface because it spends most of its time in a submerged condition. However, the performance in free surface conditions is also important because it is unavoidable for port departure and arrival. Generally, potential flow theory is used for seakeeping analysis of a surface ship and is known for excellent numerical accuracy. In the case of a submarine, the accuracy of potential theory is high underwater but is low in free surface conditions because of the nonlinearity near the free surface area. In this study, the seakeeping performance of a Canadian Victoria Class submarine in regular waves was investigated to improve the numerical accuracy in free surface conditions by using computational fluid dynamics (CFD). The results were compared to those of model tests. In addition, the potential theory software Hydrostar developed by Bureau Veritas was also used for seakeeping performance to compare with CFD results. From the calculation results, it was found that the seakeeping analysis by using CFD gives good results compared with those of potential theory. In conclusion, seakeeping analysis based on CFD can be a good solution for estimating the seakeeping performance of submarines in free surface conditions.
