티타늄합금의 와이어 방전가공과 후처리 연삭가공 특성 (The Characteristics of Wire Electrical Discharge Machining and Final Surface Grinding for Titanium Alloy)

  • Titanium alloys have the characteristics of lightness, high strength and good corrosion resistant and are broadly used in manufacturing parts for military and aerospace industries. These alloys are also recognized for organism materials comparatively and used as fixing ones in human body. Nevertheless titanium alloys have excellent properties, it is difficult to machine by traditional methods because of high hardness and chemically activated property. So higher tool wear is expected when cutting by conventional tools, so it is required nontraditional machining process. Finally, the mechanical characteristics such as surface roughness, shape and hardness on studied for wire electrical discharge machined and pound surfaces of titanium alloys for different heat-tested conditions.

황삭 및 정삭을 고려한 통합형 NURBS 곡면 인터폴레이터 (Integrated NURBS Surface Interpolator Considering Both Rough and Finish Cuts)

  • Three-axis CNC surface machining entails a series of processes including rough cutting, intermediate cutting and finish cutting for a reference surface defined in CAD/CAM. This study is targeting development of an integrated NURBS surface interpolator that can incorporate rough, intermediate and finish cutting processes. In each process, volume to be removed and cutting condition are different according to the shape of a part to be machined and the reference surface. Accordingly, the proposed NURBS surface interpolator controls motion in real-time optimized for the machining conditions of each process. In this paper, a newly defined set of G-codes is proposed such that NURBS surface machining through CNC is feasible with minimal information on the surface composition. To verify the usefulness of the proposed interpolator, through computer simulations on NURBS surface machining, total machining time, size of required NC data and cutting force variations are compared with the existing method.

  • Endmill is one of the most important cutting tool, not only for machining of mold and die, but also for manufacturing of car industrial. Futhermore with spindle speeds on the increase and machined-surface quality aspiring to higher levels. The purpose of this study is an analysis of endmill's rake angle for appropriate tools design and making for the high speed machining. In this study, Experimental works are also executed to measure shape of endmills, cutting force, on different shape of endmills. Finally, To get concept of endmill design, Tool life was experimented on various design of tool from this study.

미세구조물 금형가공을 위한 총형공구에 관한 연구 (A Study on Formed Tool to Machine Milli-structure Mold)

  • This paper presents the formed tool to machine a milli-structure mold. The formed tool is used to machine the geometrical shape of bearing rubber seal for precision machining. The bearing rubber seal has milli-sized complex geometry. Because it is difficult to machine the unique shape exactly by the conventional tool, the formed tool is used in machining die of the bearing seal. In this paper, it is performed to investigate properties of the formed tool; tool wear, cutting force and machined surface roughness. Tool wear increases rapidly with clearance angle Increase. Thus, the dimension accuracy is affected by the clearance angle.

알칼리 처리된 타이타늄 표면에 대한 골아 유사세포의 세포 활성도 (Cellular activities of osteoblast-like cells on alkali-treated titanium surface)

  • 임플란트와 골 사이의 결합력을 증가시키기 위하여 타이타늄 표면에 변화를 주기위한 많은 연구들이 진행되고 있다. 타이타늄의 표면 구조나 미세 지지도의 변화가 임플란트에 대한 세포의 반응에 영향을 미치며, 골아 유사세포는 표면 조도가 높은 타이타늄 표면에 더 잘 부착하며, 세포외 기질의 합성과 광물화 결정이 더 잘 일어난다고 알려져 있다. 그러나 대부분의 연구들은 마이크로 단위의 미세 지지도에 대한 연구들이고 나노 단위의 미세 지지도에 대한 연구들은 미미하다. 이에 본 연구에서는 ROS 17/2.8 cell line을 이용하여 기계적 처리만한 군을 대조군으로 하여 blasting 처리한 마이크로 단위의 미세 지지도 표면과 알칼리 처리된 나노 단위의 미세 지지도 표면에 대한 골아 유사세포의 세포 부착양상, 증식 그리고 골아 유사세포의 표식인자 발현양상 등을 상호 비교하여 골아 유사세포에 미치는 영향을 관찰하고자 하였다. SEM을 이용한 미세 지지도 관찰에서 알칼리 처리군에서는 약 200mm의 초미세 다공성의 양상을 나타내었고, blasting 처리한 군에서는 $10\;{\mu}m$ 이하의 움푹 파인 양상을 보였다. 표면조도 측정에 있어서는 blasting 처리한 군에서 기계적 처리와 알칼리 처리된 군보다 더 높은 표면 조도를 보였으며 이는 통계학적으로 유의한 차이를 나타내었다 (p<0.01). 표면결정성 분석에서는 알칼리처리 군에서 anatase와 rutile결정형이 보였으나, blasting 처리한 군과 기계적 처리 군에서는 관찰되지 않았다. 골아 유사세포 1시간 배양 후의 전자현미경 관찰에서 모든 군의 세포는 부착 및 전개 과정을 보였고, 3시간 배양에서는 모든 군의 세포가 더 많이 전개되었으나, blasting 처리한 군과 알칼리처리 군에서 세포가 다소 더 불규칙한 형태를 나타내었다. 24시간 배양에서는 모든 군의 세포에서 완전히 전개가 일어난 양상을 보였다. 1, 4, 7일간 세포배양 후 세포활성을 평가하기 위한 MTT assay에서는 모든 군에서 시간이 증가함에 따라 세포수가 증가하였으며, 1일째에 blasting 처리한 군과 알칼리처리 군에서 기계적 처리 군에 비해 세포활성도가 통계학적으로 유의한 증가를 보였다(p<0.01). 골아 유사세포 표식인자인 osteopontin, alkaline phosphatase, ${\alpha}\;1(1)$ collagen의 유전자 발현양상을 관찰해 본 결과, osteopontin, alkaline phosphatase, ${\alpha}\;1(1)$ collagen의 유전자 발현양상이 세 군 모두에서 유의한 차이는 관찰할 수 없었으나, blasting 처리한 군과 알칼리처리 군에서 기계적 처리 군에 비해 유전자 발현양상이 다소 증가하는 경향을 보였다. 결론적으로 blasting 처리한 마이크로 단위의 미세 지지도 표면과 알칼리 처리된 나노 단위의 미세 지지도 표면이 기계적 처리 군에 비해 골아 유사세포의 기능을 촉진시키나, 알칼리 처리된 나노 단위의 미세 지지도 표면은 blasting 처리한 마이크로 단위의 미세 지지도 표면이 골아 유사세포의 기능에 미치는 영향을 압도하지는 않는 것으로 사료된다.

CAM 소프트웨어를 활용한 완만한 구배면의 효율적인 가공에 관한 연구 (A study on efficient machining of smooth drafting surface using CAM software)

  • In the mold industry, CAM software has been introduced to solve the impossible or time-consuming part of the mold industry because the increase in labor costs, the drop in mold price, and the short delivery time are tasks to be solved not only in the manufacturing industry but also in the mold industry as a whole. In order to reduce the processing time and improve the surface roughness, we have been conducting various researches for efficient machining. This study was carried out to compare the ball end mill and radius end mill tools with the Power mill software and NC brain software under the same conditions and to find out the most efficient method of machining the smooth drafting surface and improving the surface roughness. (1) By machining the smooth drafting surface using radius end mill, the machining time is 23.7% faster than when using ball end mill. (2) Surface roughness when machined with radius end mill is smoother than when using ball end mill. Based on these results, it can not be applied to all shapes, but if it is a relatively wide and simple gradient shape, the raster machining method using radius end mill can be more effective in terms of delivery and quality than machining with ball end mill.

무 알칼리 유리의 연마 조건에 따른 영향 (Effect of Polishing Grinding Conditions on Alkali-free Glass)

  • Owing to the introduction of various IT devices with emphasis on portability and design, the TFT (thin film transistor liquid crystal display) panel applied to IT devices has the same shape as the product, and the portability requirement of IT devices has resulted in a need for panels with higher rigidity. In this study, the effect of grinding conditions such as the feed rate and edge speed of edge grinding on the surface roughness and chipping of the machined surface is investigated using a metal bond wheel. During edge grinding of alkari-free glass, weak mechanical property of glass results in big chipping owing to generation of tensile stress at the end of grining operation. The results of this study show that the grinding characteristics of alkali-free glass are obtained and meet industry requirements.

  • Accurate acquisition of surface geometries such as machined surfaces, biological surfaces, and deformed parts have been very important technique in scientific study and engineering, expecially for system design, manufacturing and inspection. Two camera method keeps accuracy more than double than mechanical method. In this paper, we describe the processes surface data of teeth for automatic processing, transformation that changes to coping data of possible numeric data form, and processed inlay teeth. As the result of the Inlay manufacture, which can process with high resolution, therefore we construct the automatic processing system that depends on manual.

  • Under the optimal cutting conditions, determined the machinability difference of cutting tools are by two major factors. One is the geometric shape of the cutting tool, and the other is the tool materials or heat treatment or coating of the cutting tool. In this research, we evaluated the machinability of cutting tools with conventional HSS and P/M(powder metallurgy) which was made from the different of materials and manufacture processes. Tool wear, surface roughness, cutting force and squareness of machined workpiece were evaluated.

압전소자의 미세회전운동을 이용한 초정밀 초음파 표면가공기 개발 (Development of Ultra-precision Ultrasonic Surface Machining Device Using Cyclic Elliptical Cutting Motion of a Couple of Piezoelectric Material)

  • Various types of elliptical motions are generated by PZT mechanism which is composed of two parallel piezoelectric actuators. Elliptical vibration cutting(EVC) is obtained by attaching single crystal diamond cutting tool to the mechanism, and V-grooving for Brass and Aluminum is carried out by applying the EVC. It is experimentally observed that the cutting force in the process of the EVC reduces compared to the ordinary non-vibration cutting, which is due to the decrease of undeformed chip thickness and frictional force between the tool and chip. Ultrasonic elliptical vibration cutting(UEVC) suppresses burr formation and decreases cutting force still more, so UEVC makes it possible to enhance the shape accuracy of machined surface.
