For data analysis, the study executed $x^2$-test, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation and multiple regression in accordance with the purpose of study by SPSS/PC+ WIN 10.0 program. Also this study obtained Cronbach's alpha for examination of reliability. The results are as follows : 1) The sexual knowledge of the husband was higher than that of the wife after hysterectomy by showing the mean 11.27(${\pm}2.72$) in case of the wife and the mean 11.57(${\pm}2.28$) in case of the husband, but there was no statistically significant difference(t=.681, p=.497). 2)The sexual attitude of the husband was more liberal than that of the wife after hysterectomy by showing the mean 3.25(${\pm}.48$) in case of the wife and the mean 3.42(${\pm}.48$) in case of the husband, and there was statistically significant difference(t=2.399, p=.018). 3)There was no statistically significant difference between the score of sexual activity of wife and husband by period elapsed after hysterectomy. 4)There was no statistically significant difference between the score of sexual satisfaction of wife and husband by period elapsed after hysterectomy. 5)The wife subjects showed positive correlation among sexual knowledge, sexual attitude, sexual activity and sexual satisfaction. The husband subjects showed positive correlation only between sexual knowledge and sexual activity, sexual activity and sexual satisfaction, sexual attitude and sexual satisfaction, sexual knowledge and sexual satisfaction. There was a positive correlation between the sexual knowledge, sexual attitude, sexual activity and sexual satisfaction of the wife and husband. 6)Only the variable of sexual activity among factors of sexual satisfaction of the wife subjects showed the statistical significance(F=52.452, p<0.001), while variables of sexual attitude (F=20.360, p<0.001) and sexual activity (F=14.142, p<0.05) among factors of sexual satisfaction of the husband subjects showed a statistical significance.

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to explore sexual attitude, sexual behavior and the related factors in chinese-Korean university students. Method: A self-administered questionnaire with cross-sectional design was used. Participants were 271 Chinese undergraduate students in one university in Jilin, China. Correlation coefficiency and t-test were used to find the relationships and to compare sexual attitude and sexual behavior and related factors. Result: Although sexual attitude of participants was moderate, they were more likely to be engaged in sexual behavior. The strong relationship between sexual attitude and sexual behavior suggested that those who have a permissive sexual attitude were more likely to have engaged in sexual behavior. The participants who responded that their parents have a less permissive attitude about sexual activity were less likely to be engaged in sexual behavior. There were significant relationships between sexual behavior and other variables, such as dating, experience of sexual activity, smoking and grades. Conclusion: Students who have a higher score of sexual attitude and had an experience of sexual activity were more likely to be at higher risk of being sexually.

  • This study was conducted to determine whether patients could engage in sexual activity following total cystectomy with ileal conduit. Sixteen male bladder cancer patients treated by total cystectomy with or without preoperative irradiation. Patients ranged in age from 48 to 70 years (mean 59.6 years). The interval from therapy ranged from 7 to 82 months (mean 33.8 months).Prior to therapy 11 /16 patients (68.8 %) reported they were engaging some form of sexual activity at least once per month. All were able to achieve an erection and were orgasmic. Following total cystectomy, 6 patients (37.5%) continued to engage in sexual activity at least once per month and were experiencing orgasm. 3 patients (18.8%) reported they were able to achieve an erection. The spontaneous resumptiom of sexual activity by almost one third of the patients in this study refutes the assumption that sexual activity would be impossible following total cystectomy.

  • Sexual addiction is accompanied with anxiety, psychological and physical dependence. Also, sexual addict want to make their presence through sexual adventures and seem sexually obsessed. In this study, we examined the changes of brain activity related to sexual addiction by utilizing the developed multi-sensory therapy after 4-weeks sex offender treatment program. We analyzed the electroencephalogram (EEG) activity changes in the subjects and regions of brain. As a result, the theta wave significantly increased after treatment than before (p < 0.001). The absolute alpha wave was increased whereas the relative alpha waves were decrease significantly (p < 0.001). The results could conclude that multi-sensory therapy on sex offender shows more stable status against sexual stimulations. Moreover, the reduction of the relative alpha waves in parietal lobe of sex offender is correlated to the less attention on sexual stimulations. The multi-sensory therapy not only provides a neurobiological explanation, but also can be used for clinical implications, i.e. prevention and treatments, for sex addiction.

  • The present study examined whether enjoyable couple activity and common dyadic coping as daily positive couple interactions have direct or indirect effects on marital satisfaction through the mediation of sexual intimacy among urban Chinese women in the early years of marriage. The subjects were 182 urban women born under the one-child policy, who live in Heilongjiang, Anhui and Beijing provinces of China, and have been married up to six years. Data were collected using a self-administered questionnaire. We conducted a hierarchical multiple regression analysis in SPSS software and tested the significance of the mediation effects using bootstrapping method in Mplus software. The results of the study are as follows. First, both enjoyable couple activity and common dyadic coping had positive direct impacts on urban Chinese women's marital satisfaction and positive indirect impacts on marital satisfaction via sexual intimacy. Second, enjoyable couple activity was the strongest predictor of marital satisfaction, followed by common dyadic coping and sexual intimacy. The path model explained 48% of the variance in marital satisfaction. The results suggest that enjoyable couple activity, common dyadic coping, and sexual intimacy should be considered in the design of interventions to enhance urban Chinese women's marital satisfaction in the early years of marriage.

  • The purpose of this study is to compare sexual concerns and adjustment between men and women with spinal cord injuries. A total of 108 persons (67 men and 41 women), registered to the Spinal Cord Injury Organization or admitted at rehabilitation unit from February 1999 to February 2000, were selected as subjects of the study. Participants answered the questionnaires concerning importance of life events, sexual concern, sexual adjustment, relationship with a sex partner, and depression. The results are as follows : 1) There were no significant differences between men and women in the general characteristics except sexual dysfunction. 2) With respect to eleven different life areas, sex life ranked the fifth among men, whereas it occupied the lowest position for women among the 11 areas. However economic status was the most highly-ranked for both sex. 3) Men took much interest in the "methods and techniques for achieving sexual satisfaction", "Helping a partner cope emotionally with limitations on sexual activity", whereas women were interested in "Helping a partner cope emotionally with limitations on sexual activity" and "Ability to have children". 4) The means of sexual adjustment, relationship with a sex partner, and depression among men were higher than women. But there was no significant difference between two groups. As a result, the study suggests that there are no significant differences in the general characteristics between men and women with spinal cord injuries except sexual dysfunction. Men evaluated the sexual events highly compared to women, and differences were also shown in terms of sexual concerns between men and women. Therefore differential approaches to sexual rehabilitation are required; in both socio-psychological and physical aspects for men and particularly in socio-psychological respect for women.
