  • In this paper, fault tolerant mechanisms are presented for a servo manipulator system designed to operate in a hot cell. A hot cell is a sealed and shielded room to handle radioactive materials, and it is dangerous for people to work in the hot cell. So, remote operations are necessary to handle the radioactive materials in the hot cell. KAERI has developed a servo manipulator system to perform such remote operations. However, since electric components such as servo motors may fail by radiation, fault tolerant mechanisms have to be considered. For fault tolerance of the servo manipulator system, duplication mechanism increasing the reliability of the transport's driving motors and reconfiguration algorithm accommodating the slave's motor failure have been presented. The reconfiguration algorithm recovering the end effector's motion in spite of one motor's failure is based on control allocation redistributing redundant axes. The constrained optimization method and pseudo inverse method have been adopted for control allocation. Simulation examples and real test results have been presented to verify the Proposed methods.

  • In this paper, fault tolerant mechanisms are presented for a servo manipulator system designed to operate in a hot cell. However, since electric components such as servo motors are weakened with radiation, fault tolerant mechanisms have to be considered. For fault tolerance of the servo manipulator system, hardware and software redundancy has been considered. In the case of hardware, radioactive resistant electric components such as cables and connectors have been adopted and motors driving a transport have been duplicated. In case of software, a reconfiguration algorithm accommodating one motor's failure has been developed. The algorithm uses redundant axes to recover the end effector's motion in spite of one motor's failure.

  • Because of the convenience of variable speed control and proportion of input current and torque, DC servo motor has been used as an actuator. With increasing development speed of robot and factory automation machinery, the actuator of excellent control characteristics is demanded. In this paper, The control characteristics of DC servo motor is tested by Fuzzy control with microprocessor and DC servo motor controller is designed for drive of the cartesian coordinate type robot. The control characteristics experimentation is realized to one axis position, two axes coordinate and circular motion control by experimental equipments.

Fast Tool Servo를 이용한 대구경 반사경의 초정밀 가공 및 기상 형상 측정 (Ultra-Precision Machining Using Fast Tool Servo and On-Machine Form Measurement of Large Aspheric Mirrors)

  • This paper presents the development of ultra-precision machining process of large aspheric aluminum mirrors with a maximum diameter of 620 mm. An ultra-precision machine, "Nanoturn60", developed by Daewoo Heavy Industries Ltd. is used for machining and motion errors of the machine are compensated by using the FTS developed by IAE(Institue for Advanced Engineering) during the machining process. To check the form accuracy of machined aspheric surfaces, on-machine form measurement system is developed. This measurement system consists of air bearing touch probe, straight edge, and laser sensor. With in-process error compensation by FTS(Fast Tool Servo), aspheric mirrors with the from accuracy of submicron order are obtained. obtained.

  • This paper proposes a posture stabilization control algorithm for a wheeled mobile robot using hybrid visual servo control method with a position based and an image based visual servoing (PBVS and IBVS). To overcome chattering phenomena which were shown in the previous researches using a simple switching function based on a threshold, the proposed hybrid visual servo control law introduces the fusion function based on a blending function. Then, the chattering problem and rapid motion of the mobile robot can be eliminated. Also, we consider the nonlinearity of the wheeled mobile robot unlike the previous visual servo control laws using linear control methods to improve the performances of the visual servo control law. The proposed posture stabilization control law using hybrid visual servoing is verified by a theoretical analysis and simulation and experimental results.

  • The overall performance of AC servo system is greatly affected by the uncertainties of unpredictable mechanical parameter variations and external load disturbances. Therefore, to compensate this problem, it is necessary to know different parameters and load disturbances subjected to position/speed control. This paper proposes an online identification method of mechanical parameters/load disturbances for AC servo system using Support Vector Regression (SVR). The proposed methodology advocates analytic parameter regression directly from the training data, rather than adaptive controller and observer approaches commonly used in motion control applications. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed SVR algorithm is appropriate for control of unknown servo systems even with large measurement noise.

  • A neural network compensator for stick-slip friction phenomena in meashartonics servo systems is practically proposed to supplement the traditionally available position and velocity control loops for precise motion control. The neural network compensa-tor plays the role of canceling the effect of nonlinear slipping friction force. It works robustly and effectively in a real control system. This enables the mechatronics servo systems to provide more precise control in the digital computer. It was confirmed that the con-trol accuracy is improved near zero velocity and points of changing the moving direction through numerical simulation. However, asymptotic property on the steady state error of the normal operation points is guaranteed by the integral term of traditional velocity loop controller.

  • Recently, the robot has been used in industries and laboratories for the automation and the coarse and hazardous environments. In this paepr, it was studied the robot using DC servo motors. In that maner, Gold Star educational robot "Top-1" which was drived by 6-step motors was rebuilt to the robot. "Kon Kuk-I" using 6-servo motors. Because the caracteristics of step motors were not fit well the differential change. For the precise robot control, it was designed the controller which was adopted the velocity mode control and the position mode control. It was studied also the supporting software for the robot motion. As the results of this experiments, it was found that the robot "Kon Kuk-I" moved smoothly and accurately.

  • A 3D camera-based on-site work-related musculoskeletal disorder risk assessment(WMDs) tool has been developed. The device consists of Kinect a 3D camera manufactured by Microsoft, a servo-motor, and a mobile robot. To complement inherent narrow field of view(FOV) of Kinect, Kinect is rotated according to PID servo-control algorithm by a servo-motor attached underneath, to track movement of a subject, producing skeleton-based motion data. With servo-control, full 360 degrees tracking of a test subject is possible by single Kinect. It was found from experimental tests that the proposed device can be successfully employed for on-site WMDs risk assessing tool.

  • 기계식 마스터-슬레이브 매니퓰레이터의 결점인 접근 지역의 제한을 극복하기 위해 차세대관리 공정장치 원격 유지보수용 천정이동 서보 매니퓰레이터(Bridge Transported Servo Manipulator, BTSM) 시스템을 개발하고 있다. 서보 매니퓰레이터는 핫셀 내 천정이동 브릿지(bridge)에 부착되는 슬레이브 매니퓰레이터와 핫셀 밖 운전지 역에 설치되는 마스터 매니퓰레이터로 구성된다. 각각의 매니퓰레이터는 몸체 회전, 상부 팔 틸트(tilt), 하부 팔 틸트, 하부 팔 회전, 손목 팬/틸트(pan & tilt) 및 잡는 운동(grasp motion)의 7 자유도를 갖는다. 하부 팔 회전, 손목 팬/틸트 및 잡는 운동은 매니퓰레이터의 무게에 비해 취급 용량을 크게 하고, 마찰을 작게 하기 위하여 와이어 구동 메카니즘을 채택하였다. 그러나, 와이어 구동 메카니즘은 한 축이 움직일 때 다른 축도 영향을 받을 수 있는 단점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 이와 같은 단점을 극복하기 위해 와이어 구동 링크(link) 사이의 전달 특성을 수식화 하였다. 와이어구동 링크들간의 전달특성 분석 및 실험을 통해서 이들의 기대하지 않은 동작 특성을 확인하였다. 또한, 제안한 보상식을 통해서 기대하지 않은 동작을 크게 줄일 수 있음을 확인하였다.
