주요 치료재료 품목군의 건강보험청구액 결정요인분석 (Analysis on the Determinants of Therapeutic Materials Expenditure in National Health Insurance)

  • Background: The use of therapeutic materials based on new health technology has increased in recent years in the field of medicine, raising concerns for medical practitioners regarding increased spending on the new therapeutic materials amid the rapid population ageing and increase of chronic diseases in Korea. While therapeutic materials have significant importance in the health care system, they have not been given appropriate attention in the academic world of Korea. The purpose of this study is to identify factors that affect the growth of expenditure on therapeutic materials and to derive implications for an effective management considering the diversity of therapeutic materials. Methods: Using the claims data of the National Health Insurance Services, specific utilization patterns of groups of therapeutic materials in the middle classification level of Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service from 2007 to 2014 were analyzed. Four categories (J5083: drug eluting coronary stent, D0302: nonmetallic anchor, K6014: gauze, K6023: gauze) that exhibit unique patterns with respect to price and volume were selected. Then, decomposition analysis was performed to identify the largest contributor to the spending growth by dividing the products into existing, new, and abandoned products for the period between 2010 and 2013. Results: The effect of new products had larger impact on spending growth than the effect of core items in drug eluting coronary stent (J5083) and nonmetallic anchor (D0302). In addition, existing products in general included items priced relatively lower when compared with another item manufactured by the same company. In the gauze category, however, existing products had the largest impact on expenditure and the effect of volume was greater than that in other categories. Conclusion: This study provides evidence that appropriate management measures classified by the characteristics of therapeutic materials are required for therapeutic materials pricing and reassessment in Korea.

텍스트 네트워크 분석을 이용한 보험 이미지 분석 (Analyzing insurance image using text network analysis)

  • 본 연구는 소비자들의 농협보험에 대한 이미지 이미지를 분석하기 위해 텍스트 마이닝과 텍스트 네트워크 분석을 실시하였다. 최근 소셜미디어의 발달로 많은 텍스트가 생산 및 재생산되고 있으며, 텍스트는 기업에게 중요한 정보들을 제공한다. 이러한 정보의 의미를 도출하기 위해, 텍스트 마이닝과 텍스트 네트워크 분석을 많은 연구에서 실시하고 있다. 텍스트 분석결과, 농협보험의 긍정적 이미지는 주로 안전과 안정으로 나타났다. 농협보험의 부정적 이미지로는 우려와 불안으로 나타났다. 텍스트 네트워크 분석을 통해 도출한 농협보험의 이미지는 안전과 우려를 중심으로 형성되었다. 텍스트 네트워크 분석을 통해 도출된 결과를 인터뷰를 통해 확인하였다. 인터뷰 결과, 농협은 자산규모 등을 통해 안정적인 재무와 보험금 지급은 안전함이 긍정적 이미지의 주요한 요인이었다. 부정적 이미지로는 최근의 정보유출 사태로 인해 소비자들의 개인정보유출에 대한 우려가 큰 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구에서 분석을 통해 타 상품의 이미지 분석도 사용가능할 것이다.

인공지능 기술 기반 인슈어테크와 디지털보험플랫폼 성공사례 분석: 중국 평안보험그룹을 중심으로 (Analysis of Success Cases of InsurTech and Digital Insurance Platform Based on Artificial Intelligence Technologies: Focused on Ping An Insurance Group Ltd. in China)

  • 최근 전 세계 보험업계에도 기계학습, 자연어 처리, 딥러닝 등의 인공지능 기술 활용을 통한 디지털 전환이 급속도로 확산하고 있다. 이에 따라 인공지능 기술을 기반으로 한 인슈어테크와 플랫폼 비즈니스 성공을 이룬 해외 보험사들도 증가하고 있다. 대표적으로 중국 최대 민영기업인 평안보험그룹은 '금융과 기술', '금융과 생태계'를 기업의 핵심 키워드로 내세우며 끊임없는 혁신에 도전한 결과, 인슈어테크와 디지털플랫폼 분야에서 괄목할만한 성과를 보이며 중국의 글로벌 4차 산업혁명을 선도하고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 평안보험그룹 인슈어테크와 플랫폼 비즈니스 활동을 ser-M 분석 모델을 통해 분석하여 국내 보험사들의 인공지능 기술기반 비즈니스 활성화를 위한 전략적 시사점을 제공하고자 했다. ser-M 분석 모델은 기업의 경영전략을 주체, 환경, 자원, 메커니즘 관점에서 통합적으로 해석이 가능한 프레임으로, 최고경영자의 비전과 리더십, 기업의 역사적 환경, 다양한 자원 활용, 독특한 메커니즘 관계가 통합적으로 해석되도록 연구하였다. 사례분석 결과, 평안보험은 안면·음성·표정 인식 등 핵심 인공지능 기술을 활용하여 세일즈, 보험인수, 보험금 청구, 대출 서비스 등 업무 전 영역을 디지털로 혁신함으로써 경비 절감과 고객서비스 발전을 이루었다. 또한 '중국 내 온라인 데이터'와 '회사가 축적한 방대한 오프라인 데이터 및 통찰력'을 인공지능, 빅데이터 분석 등 신기술과 결합하여 금융 서비스와 디지털 서비스 사업이 통합된 디지털 플랫폼을 구축하였다. 이러한 평안보험그룹의 성공 배경을 ser-M 관점에서 분석해 보면, 창업자 마밍즈 회장은 4차 산업혁명 시대의 디지털 기술발전, 시장경쟁 및 인구 구조의 변화를 빠르게 포착하여 새로운 비전을 수립하고 디지털 기술중시의 민첩한 리더십을 발휘하였다. 환경변화에 대응한 창업자 주도의 강력한 리더십을 바탕으로 인공지능 기술 투자, 우수 전문인력 확보, 빅데이터 역량 강화 등 내부자원을 혁신하고, 외부 흡수역량의 결합, 다양한 업종 간의 전략적 제휴를 통해 인슈어테크와 플랫폼 비즈니스를 성공적으로 끌어냈다. 이와 같은 성공사례 분석을 통하여 인슈어테크와 디지털플랫폼 도입을 본격 준비하고 있는 국내 보험사들에게 디지털 시대에 필요한 경영 전략과 리더십에 대한 시사점을 줄 수 있다.

  • The Swedish Fire Research Board was established in 1979 to initiate and fund relevant fire research efforts. The Board is responsible for a long term research programme revised every third year, and the Board is one of two major Swedish sponsors of all fire research. Beside the Board we also have the Swedish National Rescue Services, funded by the government. BRANDFORSK gives very high priority for the industry and the insurance company and the need they express for fire research. Research that the Rescue Services Board are funding is mainly focusing the need for the fire department. The Swedish Fire Research Board, BRANDFORSK, is the joint agency of the Swedish government, the insurance industry and the business sector, for the initiation, funding and supervision of different kinds of fire research. Work is directed by a Programme Board and is performed in the form of projects at universities, research institutes, state authorities and private firms. The Secretariat of BRANDFORSK shares the premises of the Swedish Fire Protection Association, SFPA, and the SFPA is the principal and the party which enters into agreement with the State. The programme for the period 1997-1999 has been drawn up on the basis of both damage development and the trends in society which can be noted, and the evident fire problems of the interested parties and their need for fire research. The inputs in the programme have been broken down seven problem areas. In every problem area different project areas are set out, and these primarily specify the aim of the work. 인터넷무역위험(貿易危險)의 관리체계(管理體系)에 관한 고찰(考察) (A Study on the System of Risk Management in the Int'l Trade by Internet Network)

  • There are many kinds of risk in int'l trade by internet network, such as credit risk, mercantile risk, contingency risk, exchange risk, physical risk and the risk on internet network. Especially, risk management against credit risk and the risk on internet network are very important. The former is conventional but more important these days. The latter is a new risk that has been incurred owing to the int'l trade by internet network. The system of risk management against the former are firstly, to surely research credit of counterpart by internet, secondly, to certify the entity by password or fingerprint, thirdly, to pay the price under a letter of credit, fourthly, to use the system of int'l trade such as bolero, trade card, finally, to use the authority of electronic trade services. The system of risk management against the latter are firstly, to install the firewall on the own computer network, secondly, to entrust the management own computer network to the network security services firm, thirdly, to electronically communicate with counterpart through the certification authority, finally, to insure against the own network risk with the security insurance company.

Status Quo Bias in Ocean Marine Insurance and Implications for Korean Trade

  • Purpose - This research uses ocean marine insurance (OMI) statistics, international emails, focus-group interviews, and surveys to fill the gap between the theory of behavioral insurance, particularly status quo bias (SQB), and the practice of OMI in Korea. The contractual forms of OMI, the oldest and most globalized form of commercial insurance, were developed in the UK as the Institute Cargo Clauses in 1906 and revised in 1963, 1982, and 2009. SQB has been academically explored, mostly in health insurance and the financial services sector, but never in OMI. Thanks to the availability of OMI statistics in Korea, we can conduct SQB research here for the first time in this field. Design/methodology - We show the existence of SQB in the OMI of Korea through Korean statistics between 2009 and 2018, email correspondence with experts in the UK, Germany, and Japan, focus-group interviews with Korean OMI underwriters, an in-depth interview with one underwriter, and a survey of 15 OMI insureds (company representatives). Findings - We find that Korean foreign traders rely on the old-type OMI contracts developed in 1963, whereas other industrialized countries use the newest type of OMI contract developed in 2009. With a simple loss ratio analysis during 2009-2018, we show that the behavior of insurers has little to do with rational profit maximization and is instead driven by irrational bias, as they forgo the more profitable contracts provided by the new clauses by keeping the old clauses. The consistent addiction to old types of contracts in the OMI market suggests strong SQB among Korean exporters, importers, bankers, or insurers, which we confirmed in our interviews and survey. Originality/value - This research has significant originality and academic value because it reports new findings with crucial implications for the development of efficient trade practices and policy. First, this research is based on actual statistics that have not been used in previous Korean research on OMI. Second, this research shows that all-risk OMI policies provide more value to insureds, in terms of coverage given premium, than partial coverage policies, which differs from arguments previously made in Korea. Third, this research reveals strong SQB in Korea, where foreign trade plays a pivotal role in economic growth. That bias could be attributable to uninformed traders, informed but idle insurers, or conservative bankers. Fourth, to further develop foreign trade, policy initiatives are needed to review the current practices of OMI contracts and move forward with the new contract forms. All of these findings and arguments are both new and important.

기업의 융합요인이 재무적 성과에 미치는 영향 (A Study on The Effect Financial Performance of Convergence Factors on Corporate)

  • 현대는 융합의 시대이다. 복잡하고 급격한 환경변화에서 살아남아야 하는 기업의 입장에서는 융합이라는 테마는 선택이 아닌 필수가 아닐 수 없다. 기술 분야에 있어서도 융합의 바람은 거세다고 할 수 있다. 이러한 현상들은 실생활에서도 많이 찾아 볼 수 있다. 실생활에서 가장 많이 접하고 있는 서비스 분야도 예외는 아니다. 융합으로 인하여 은행과 보험이 결합된 방카수랑스란 이름으로 은행업과 보험업이 통합되고 있다. 심지어 최근에는 은행 지점내에서 투자 상담, 주식매매 서비스까지 제공되고 있는 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 기업의 융합 필요성에 근거를 두고 기업의 융합요인이 재무적 성과에 어떠한 영향을 미치는 지를 회귀분석을 통하여 살펴보았다. 연구 결과 융합요인을 구성하는 외부환경요인, 내부환경요인, 핵심역량요인 모두 재무적 성과에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

극단치이론을 이용한 보험사 위험자본의 추정 (Estimation of Economic Risk Capital of Insurance Company using the Extreme Value Theory)

  • 전 세계적으로 금융시장에서는 예측할 수 없는 대형 사건들이 지속적으로 일어나고 있으며, 특히 보험시장의 경우에는 대재해성(catastrophe)손실 등을 포함한 극단적 사건에 대한 예측이 날이 갈수록 어려워지고 있는바 극단적 위험관리에 대한 필요성이 증대되고 있다. 극단적 위험관리에 있어 분포의 꼬리영역만을 분리하여 그 정보를 최대로 이용하는 방법이 필요한데, 이러한 문제들을 해결하기 위해 극단치들의 움직임을 모형화 하는 소위 극단치 이론(Extreme Value Theory: EVT)을 이용하는 것이 요구된다. 극단치 이론은 현재 여러 분야에서 활용되고 있는데, 특히 금융시장에서는 극단적 변화가 미치는 영향을 분석하기 위해서 극단치 이론을 이용한 금융위험분석을 실시하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 위험관리에 있어서 극단치 이론의 중요성을 검토하고 보험사의 위험자본에 초점을 맞추어 손실 발생의 극단적 위험을 측정하고 이에 대비한 위험자본의 적정규모를 측정하여 보았다.

A Study on Open API of Securities and Investment Companies in Korea for Activating Big Data

  • Big data was associated with three key concepts, volume, variety, and velocity. Securities and investment services produce and store a large data of text/numbers. They have also the most data per company on the average in the US. Gartner found that the demand for big data in finance was 25%, which was the highest. Therefore securities and investment companies produce the largest data such as text/numbers, and have the highest demand. And insurance companies and credit card companies are using big data more actively than banking companies in Korea. Researches on the use of big data in securities and investment companies have been found to be insignificant. We surveyed 22 major securities and investment companies in Korea for activating big data. We can see they actively use AI for investment recommend. As for big data of securities and investment companies, we studied open API. Of the major 22 securities and investment companies, only six securities and investment companies are offering open APIs. The user OS is 100% Windows, and the language used is mainly VB, C#, MFC, and Excel provided by Windows. There is a difficulty in real-time analysis and decision making since developers cannot receive data directly using Hadoop, the big data platform. Development manuals are mainly provided on the Web, and only three companies provide as files. The development documentation for the file format is more convenient than web type. In order to activate big data in the securities and investment fields, we found that they should support Linux, and Java, Python, easy-to-view development manuals, videos such as YouTube.

고객센터를 통한 고객지식 확보 전략: 음성인식기술의 적용 사례 (A Study on Customer Knowledge Acquisition Strategy via a Customer Center: A Case of Voice Recognition Technology Application)

  • Recently, firms have been putting forth significant efforts to fulfill various demands and high expectations of customers. The role and importance of customer centers as a direct contact point for customer relationship management are more emphasized than previously. A customer center draws attention as a new alternative to secure corporate competitiveness as it contributes to sales increase, being in a position to satisfy customers' needs by ensuring customers' access to information. A customer center is an aggregation of various information and communication technologies. In particular, a voice recognition/analysis technology based on big data can elaborate customer services further, enhance customer satisfaction, and trigger constant interactions with customers. A customer center can be transformed to a hub of customer knowledge and the embodiment of business intelligence in the front line of business. This article is a case study on how the customer center of the K life insurance company regarding customer center operation collects and analyzes customer information and how it has established its voice recognition/analysis system based on big data to improve customer experience management. Factors affecting the successful introduction and implementation of voice recognition/analysis system to a firm, are examined.
