The results also highlight that safety and security was preferred to other factors by the respondents. Conclusions - The findings of this study show that in terms of performance private sector banks fared better in providing CRM services than public sector banks.
Purpose: Marine transportation companies must improve service quality to secure competitive advantage and continuous relationships with customers. This study explores the value and necessity of service quality in the industry by empirically identifying the factor that would have the largest effect on the improvement of service quality, also examining whether such improvement may actually influence continuous relationships. Research design, data and methodology: Based on an online survey with those in the Korean marine transportation industry, this study conducted statistical analyses using structural equation modeling. Based on relevant previous studies, the current study constructed a total of 55 survey questions. Finally, 281 questionnaires were collected, but 68 were excluded owing to invalid responses. Results: Information service attribute had the largest effect on service quality, whereas communication did not demonstrate a significant influence. In addition, distribution and information services exerted a positive effect on service satisfaction through service quality, and finally influenced relationship continuity. Conclusions: The results shows that marine logistics service quality strategies which were centered on time or local factors, should be considered in terms of the development of innovative services. In particular the improvement of information service systems and strategies in changed business environment.
Purpose - This article accentuates that there is pervasive corruption in the supply chain and procurement of goods and services in the South African public sector, particularly in the local sphere of government. Consequently, the poor and the indigents who are supposed to receive quality services are affected. Therefore, the article emphasizes the need to strengthen compliance in the supply chain and procurement processes in order to combat corruption. Research design, data, and methodology - This article extensively utilized qualitative literature review approach to address and solve the problem of endemic corruption in the supply chain and procurement being perpetrated by local government officials. Results - The synthesis shows that by strengthening compliance of supply chain and procurement strategies, measures and frameworks, the likelihood of corruption will be drastically reduced if not totally eradicated. It demonstrates that the poor and the indigents who are supposed to receive quality services are being denied due to corruption. It also shows that failure to comply should result to enforcement of punitive sanctions against perpetrators. Conclusions - This study indicates that effective and efficient implementation of supply chain and procurement strategies, measures and frameworks are panacea for curbing corruption in South Africa public sector especially at the local sphere of government.
The paradigm of care for persons with chronic mental illnesses has recently been shifted in Korea from institutionalization to community integration. Numerous changes in the service environment tend to target clients of mental health care organizations while a considerable proportion of people with similar clinical conditions have been institutionalized in various types of organizations whose auspices are other than mental health care. Under the current circumstances in which the subgroup of people, who tend to be socio-economically disadvantaged, has no viable alternative in the community to using such de facto mental health organizations, their chances of deinstitutionalization may decrease. This study thus aims at providing an increased understanding of the characteristics of the users and their service utilization, which in turn enables us to establish differentiated strategies within the current service context. In this study, a survey is conducted on the residential history of those with chronic mental illnesses both in the community and in institutions. Major characteristics of the users of de facto services are investigated along with the extent of their use of various existing mental and non-mental health services. Included is also an examination of the subjects' clinical and individual factors that may influence their use of de facto services. The study findings demonstrate relative disadvantages in deinstitutionalization in a subgroup of the population with chronic mental illnesses under the current mental health policies, and the author suggests intervening strategies specific to this population.
Consumers' desire for beauty has become a driving force in the beauty service industry which was further developed through specialization and segmentation. Nail-care service, which is one of the beauty services, is showing rapid growth, and intense competition among salons has become apparent. Thus, service management method and marketing strategy are required for customer satisfaction. Therefore, in this study, we tried to classify the nail-care services on the basis of systematization and realization of its characteristics which are fundamental when developing management and marketing strategies. The subjects of this study were women in their 20s and above living in Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Incheon areas. As a result, the nail-care service factors are classified as "external environment" (interior, celebrity, newness), "internal environment" (equipment and products, cleanliness, and environment), "location" (location and transportation convenience), "reputation" (good reputation), "technician skill," "kindness," "relationship" (relationship, empathy, and affinity), and "price and discount." The consumer types of nail-care services were classified into three groups according to the degree of involvement of these concept systems. These results can be used as marketing basics and will be the basis for studying marketing strategies. However, the consideration of setting up a marketing strategy for each consumer type will be presented in a follow-up study.
Purpose: As mobile devices are commonly used and contact-free services are widespread due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the recent distribution environment, this study suggests retail strategies for consumers using high-speed railways. To this end, we analyzed how consumer perception on technologies necessary for use of mobile apps is related to the attitude that drives consumers to continue using the app services. Research design, data and methodology: Based on the extended unified theory of technology acceptance and use of technology model by Venkatesh, Morris, Davis and Davis (2003), we added variables proposed by existing theories that studied the technology acceptance model from multiple perspectives and empirically analyzed the relationship between user satisfaction and use intention with structural equation modeling. Results: As expected, factors necessary for the use of app services such as performance expectancy, social influence, price value, facilitating conditions, security, and aesthetics had positive effects on user satisfaction, whereas the effect of effort expectancy on user satisfaction was rejected. And user satisfaction was found to have a significant effect on intention to use. Conclusions: The results provide implications that strategic retail management of the above factors can motivate passengers to continuously use high-speed railways.
The aim of this study is to propose strategies for in-flight OTT services by examining differences in binge-watching patterns through online video streaming services based on age. Additionally, it investigates how the moderating effects of need for cognition and critical media literacy influence the relationship between age and binge-watching. Data from the 2020 Korean Media Panel Survey conducted by the Korea Information Society Development Institute were utilized, with moderating effects analyzed using Process Macro Model 1. Results indicate that as age increases, the frequency of binge-watching content rises while the duration decreases. Moreover, moderating effects of need for cognition and critical media literacy in the age-binge-watching relationship were confirmed. This study analyzed binge-watching behaviors among online video streaming service users, confirming the influence of age, binge-watching habits, need for cognition, and critical media literacy. Theoretical and practical implications include insights for in-flight service providers, content marketers, and online video streaming service operators.
This paper addresses the bidding strategies of generating firms in a competitive market where the firms are provided with payment for generating reactive power. Reactive support for voltage control is an integral and critical part of power system operations. Since reactive support is unbundled in a competitive market under open access transmission, it is treated as one of ancillary services. The operation costs and opportunity costs for reactive support are compensated by payment to the firms, hence their bidding strategies will be affected. The opportunity costs are evaluated from the foregone profits of a generator in making sales in real power market by providing reactive support instead of real power. Game theory approach is used to analysis the transaction strategies of real power by the bimatrix method in this paper. Through computing the Nash equilibrium in a sample system, an incentive of a generator for improving the reactive generating capacity is found to be effective and the variations of the profits are analyzed as the demand power factor changes.
In this study, market strategies for the HSR's fare system are suggested for successful operation of high speed train opened in April 2004. For price strategies, we suggested HSR's fare system considered competition with other transportation modals are supposed to be charged and some discount-fare policies compared to service distances are needed for the successful operation of high speed train after the train open. In addition, this study concludes that for non-price strategies, various services for customers driving for enough demand can provide the base for stable operation of high speed train in Korea by making balances or profitability.

Failure to provide the payment services can bring disaster to national economy, which is the reason why business continuity of payment system receive much attention these days. Payment Systems are complex systems, which consist of multiple players: central bank, commercial banks, clearing house. The main purpose of this paper is to propose some business continuity strategies for the payment systems. First, in order to provide financial stability, this paper clarifies the concepts of business continuity plan(BCP). Second, this paper illustrates the processes to come up with business continuity strategies for the payment systems based on risk analysis and business impact analysis. Business continuity strategies are proposed in terms of two dimensions: vertical and horizontal.
