Applying 3D U-statistic method for modeling the iron mineralization in Baghak mine, central section of Sangan iron mines

  • The U-statistic method is one of the most important structural methods to separate the anomaly from background. It considers the location of samples and carries out the statistical analysis of the data without judging from a geochemical point of view and tries to separate subpopulations and determine anomalous areas. In the present study, 3D U-statistic method has been applied for the first time through the three-dimensional (3D) modeling of an ore deposit. In order to achieve this purpose, 3D U-statistic is applied on the data (Fe grade) resulted from the drilling network in Baghak mine, central part of the Sangan iron mines (in Khorassan Razavi Province, Iran). Afterward, results from applying 3D U-statistic method are used for 3D modeling of the iron mineralization. Results show that the anomalous values are well separated from background so that the determined samples as anomalous are not dispersed and according to their positioning, denser areas of anomalous samples could be considered as anomaly areas. And also, final results (3D model of iron mineralization) show that output model using this method is compatible with designed model for mining operation. Moreover, seen that U-statistic method in addition for separating anomaly from background, could be very efficient for the 3D modeling of different ore type.

  • A fundamental study on the harvest-type ice storage system applied ice making method in-water and its temperature characteristics in ice storage system was performed experimentally of the charge and discharge of cold. This paper is concerned with the development of a new method for making and separating ice and saving floated ice by installing an evaporation plate at in-water within a storage tank. In a conventional harvest-type ice storage system, a tank saves ice by separating a formed ice from an installed evaporation plate, which is located above an ice storage tank as an ice storage system. A new harvest-type method shows very good heat transfer efficiency than a convectional method. It is because the evaporation panel is directly contacted with water in a storage tank. Also, at a conventional system a circulating pump, a circulating water distributor and a piping are installed, but these components are not necessary in a new method. In this study two kinds of ice storage systems are experimentally investigated to study the thermal characteristics of ice storage tanks.

  • Compared to a full three dimensional FEM, the Slab-FEM hybrid method reduces the required computation time distinctly and it can be applied to the analysis of a shape rolling process. However, the method is somewhat approximate and predictions by the method contain certain inaccuracies. In the present investigation a parameter called T-factor was introduced to compensate the inaccuracies of the method and proper values of the parameter were estimated for different widths of bars and reduction ratios. Then, the method was applied to analyze cold and hot rollings of rectangular bars and predicted results were compared to those of experiments. Nonuniform distributions of temperature in the bars were predicted by utilizing the temperature equation obtained for a semi-infinite solid under radiation and convection boundary conditions. It was found out that accuracies of spread and roll separating force predictions could be enhanced by using proper values of the T-factor.

  • This paper presents a new estimation method of full scale propulsive performance for the pulling type podded propeller. In order to estimate the drag of pod housing, a drag velocity ratio, which includes the effects of podded propeller loading and Reynolds number, is presented and evaluated through the comparison of model test and numerical analysis. By separating the thrust of propeller blade and the drag of pod housing, extrapolation method of pod housing drag to full scale is deduced, and correction method of propeller blade thrust and torque to full scale is presented. This study utilized the drag coefficient ratio of the pod housing as a measure for expanding it to full scale, but in order to increase the accuracy of performance evaluation, additional study is necessary on the method for the full scale expansion via separating the drag of pod body, strut and fin which consist the pod housing.

The results showed discharge of cold capacity of new type indicated the high values about 30~40% based on five time of drive, the temperature difference of inlet/outlet occurred the big range about $1.3^{\circ}C$. So, the new type which makes ice in water showed superiorly.

A Study on Character Recognition using Wavelet Transformation and Moment (웨이브릿 변환과 모멘트를 이용한 문자인식에 관한 연구)

  • In this thesis, We studied on hand-written character recognition, that characters entered into a digital input device and remove noise and separating character elements using preprocessing. And processed character images has done thinning and 3-level wavelet transform for making normalized image and reducing image data. The structural method among the numerical Hangul recognition methods are suitable for recognition of printed or hand-written characters because it is usefull method deal with distortion. so that method are applied to separating elements and analysing texture. The results show that recognition by analysing texture is easily distinguished with respect to consonants. But hand-written characters are tend to decreasing successful recognition rate for the difficulty of extraction process of the starting point, of interconnection of each elements, of mis-recognition from vanishing at the thinning process, and complexity of character combinations. Some characters associated with the separation process is more complicated and sometime impossible to separating elements. However, analysis texture of the proposed character recognition with the exception of the complex handwritten is aware of the character.

  • In this paper, we propose a method to learn the redesigned class with background and object for semantic segmentation of indoor scene image. Semantic image segmentation is a technique that divides meaningful parts of an image, such as walls and beds, into pixels. Previous work of semantic image segmentation has proposed methods of learning various object classes of images through neural networks, and it has been pointed out that there is insufficient accuracy compared to long learning time. However, in the problem of separating objects and backgrounds, there is no need to learn various object classes. So we concentrate on separating objects and backgrounds, and propose method to learn after class simplification. The accuracy of the proposed learning method is about 5 ~ 12% higher than the existing methods. In addition, the learning time is reduced by about 14 ~ 60 minutes when the class is configured differently In the same environment, and it shows that it is possible to efficiently learn about the problem of separating the object and the background.

  • Membrane technologies have been used frequently in industries, taking advantage of that it is energy-saving and employable in relatively large scale. The fact that a non-mass separating agent is used in mild conditions without phase change in membrane separation makes it a method of choice in the recovery of biological materials. Recently, the development of noble separating modules has been solving the inherent problems in membrane separation, the fouling and the concentration polarization. In addition, membrane separation has broadened its applications from the conventional crude separation to the purificational use by the advent of the new and functional membrane materials. The role of membrane technologies is expected to be enormous in the production and recovery of biological products, considering the excellent applicability of membrane in the fields of integrated separation and in-situ separation, the two trends in modem bioseparation.

Nonlinear Dynamic Analysis of Fiber Movement

  • This paper adopts nonlinear vibration method to analyze the fluctuation process of fiber movement. Based on Hamilton Principle, this paper establishes differential equation of fiber axial direction movement. Using variable-separating method, this paper separates time variable from space variable. By using the disperse movement equation of Galerkin method, this paper also discusses stable region of transition curve and points out those influencing factor and variation trend of fiber vibration.

  • For the quantitative analysis of inclusion using OES data, separating of noise and inclusion is needed. In previous methods assuming that noises come from a normal distribution, intensity levels beyond a specific threshold are determined as inclusions. However, it is not possible to classify inclusions in low intensity region using this method, even though every inclusion is an element of some chemical compound. In this paper, we assume that distribution of OES data is a Gaussian mixture and estimate the parameters of the mixture model using EM algorithm. Then, we calculate mixing ratio of noise and inclusion using these parameters to separate noise and inclusion.
