  • The Seoul Metro Line No.1 is a very complex service line which carries over 620 thousand passengers a day as a linked line to the satellites of the Seoul Metropolitan. Since the Line No.1 had its voyage service in 1974. it has been aged by the time, which resulted in the needs for the refurbishment to the new system, and as its system refurbishment was suggested to be implemented without any stop of the service, the signaling system interoperability was planned for this refurbishment, and finally it became a desirable reference of the metro signaling system overall refurbishment

미국 조지아 주 메트로 애틀랜타 한인사회의 성장과 공간적 분포 (Growth and Spatial Distribution of Korean Society in Metro Atlanta, Georgia, USA)

  • 본 논문은 미국 조지아 주 애틀랜타와 인근 지역(이하 메트로 애틀란타)의 한인인구와 한인업체의 지역별 분포 및 특징을 살펴봄으로써 새롭게 부상하고 있는 메트로 애틀랜타 한인사회의 전반적인 성장과정을 파악하고자 한다. 특히 메트로 애틀랜타에 입지한 한인업체의 시기별 성장과정과 주요 지역 및 업종별 입지 동향 분석을 통해 한인업체의 공간적 분포의 특성을 파악하고자 한다. 이를 위해 애틀랜타 한인 이민의 역사를 살펴보았으며, 메트로 애틀랜타 한인업체의 입지 동향과 주요 업종별 입지 동향을 지역별로 분석하였다. 그 결과 메트로 애틀랜타 한인업체의 주요 입지는 교통의 발달, 새로운 지역의 개발, 교육 여건, 인종별 주거 비중의 변화 등으로 인해 애틀랜타 북동쪽의 외곽으로 급속히 확산되고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이와 함께 한인업체의 주요 업종은 미국의 제도, 한인 거주민의 이주, 시장 전략 등에 따라 소매업과 음식점 및 주점업에서 부동산업과 금융업으로 전환되었고, 소매업의 입지 비중이 상대적으로 감소되었다는 사실도 밝혀졌다.

지하철 터널 유지관리 계측센서의 총 손망실율 산정 연구 (A study on estimation of the total loss and damage ratio of maintenance monitoring sensor of subway tunnel)

  • 본 논문은 지하철 터널 유지관리 계측센서의 총 손망실율을 산정하기 위해 국내와 국외의 지하철 터널구조물에 설치되어 운영 중에 있는 유지관리 계측센서의 손망실 현황을 조사하고 분석을 실시하였다. 지하철 터널 유지관리 계측센서 설치 후 5~6년 경과된 시점을 기준하여 총 손망실율은 서울지하철5,6,7호선에서 14.2%, 서울지하철9호선1단계구간에서 14.8%, 영국의 Channel tunnel에서 13.9%로 모두 15%에 근접하게 나타났다. 따라서 지하철 터널 유지관리 계측센서의 총 손망실율은 잠정적으로 15%로 설정하여 설계에 반영하는 것이 타당한 것으로 판단되며, 향후 장기간의 경과년수에 따른 계측항목별 손망실율 연구가 필요할 것으로 판단된다.

애자일 수행 방식으로 본 디지털 전환의 성공요인 : 서울교통공사의 디지털 전환 프로젝트를 중심으로 (Success of Digital Transformation in the Context of the Agile Principles : A Case Study of the Seoul Metro)

  • Most enterprises today work on digital transformation projects to cope with uncertainties caused by the rapid change and cutting-edge technology. The key point is they need to take a novel approach on new projects for high performance. In this context, there is a growing interest in utilizing agile method; however, many studies on Impact of Digital Transformation on the Results of Innovation do not deal with agile methodology. The research specifies the case of Seoul Metro, regarded as best-practice on digital transformation, based on the agile way of working. The case study is based on in-depth interview with Seoul Metro's executives and employees, and the interview is analyzed using keywords from the 12 Agile Principles. Thus, among the 12 Agile Principles, Motivation and Trust, Face-to-face Interactions, Continuous Attention to Technical excellence and good design, Self-Organizing Team contributed the most to successful digital transformation projects. In addition, based on Requirements Uncertainty and Technical Degree of Uncertainty, they carry different kinds of traits. For instance, the higher the uncertainty toward requirements and required technology is, the more technological development pace is maintained. Given the conservative nature of public corporations, it is necessary to adopt the agile way of working, such as improving employees' technological capabilities and allowing teams to be organized within themselves, in a bid to produce successful innovation outcome.

  • This paper intends to raise some of urban policy issues of managing and planning Seoul for the twenty first century. As one of the world's most dynamic megacities, Seoul is faced with at least two trends: one is globalization of the economy, and the other is humanization of urban development in relation to people's quality of life. Given this context, there are emerging issues in a time of transition as the following; pedestrianization, decline of city master plan, micro land use control, citizen involvement, metro-wide management, infrastructure provisions and maintenance, sustainable development, urban information sustaniable development, urban information system, and public-private partnership.

수동운전방식에서의 PSD 출입문 신호반응 시간 개선 방안 연구 (PSD Door Response Time Improving Method in Train Manual Operation Mode)

  • Platform Screen Door(PSD) has been installed and operated at seoul subway line $1\sim4$ in the manual train operation mode(ATS/ATC) by SeoulMetro since 2005. SeoulMetro uses the wireless (RF) communication system and the train door detection system for the link between the train and PSD doors opening/closing motion in the manual train operation mode. For the convenience and safety of passengers, the train doors and the PSD doors opening/closing shall be synchronized as much as possible. In ATO(Automatic Train Operation) mode which provides the interface between train control system and PSD system, ATO signaling system makes the train doors and PSD doors open/close command signals systematically, so PSD doors can be opened/closed almost simultaneously with the train doors. But, in the manual train control(ATS/ATC) mode, PSD system needs to detect the train doors open/close operation and make PSD open/close command signals to actuate PSD doors. These PSD open/close commanding process cause time delay of PSD doors opening/closing motion in response to the train doors opening/closing motion. Sometimes the response delay time can be over 1 second, which is not proper to operate PSD, and need to be reduced This paper presents the reduction method of the PSD response delay time to improve the convenience and safety of passengers.

대피선 최소화를 고려한 광역·도시철도 급행화를 위한 고성능 열차 가감속도 분석 (Analysis of Acceleration and Deceleration on High Performance Train for A Metropolitan Rapid Transit System)

  • 서울 지하철 9호선의 급행열차에 대한 높은 인기에서 볼 수 있듯이, 광역 도시철도 급행화에 대한 수요는 꾸준히 증가하고 있다. 하지만, 기존 노선에 건설된 노선을 급행화하기 위해서는 인프라를 추가적으로 설치하여야 하며 많은 비용이 소요된다. 이러한 문제점을 극복하기 위해서는 유치선, 건넘선 등 기존에 구축된 인프라를 최대한 활용해서 대피역의 역할을 해야 할 필요가 있다. 이 경우에 급 완행 열차의 교차점을 줄이기 위해, 기존 열차는 급행열차로 활용하고 가 감속도를 증가시킨 고성능 열차를 완행 열차로 투입하는 방법이 있지만 실현 가능한 고성능 열차의 가 감속도와 최적의 가 감속도를 분석하는 현재까지 연구는 진행되지 않았다. 본 논문에서는 기존 시설을 최대한 활용하여 급행화 방안을 추진할 때, 고성능 열차의 실현 가능한 가 감속도의 범위를 수식적으로 분석하고 그것을 서울지하철 3호선에서 검증한다. 실험결과는 열차 간 최소간격이 40초 이하일 때, 실현 가능한 가 감속도의 범위가 존재한다는 것을 보여준다.

철도신호시스템 중첩운영으로 인한 전자파장해현상 분석 및 대책 (Analysis of EMI Between Overlapped Railway Signalling Systems and Its Countermeasure)

  • ATS(Automatic Train Stop) system makes train stop when it runs over the speed limit and ensure the safe operation of train. Seoul Metro line 2 in Korea, which started its passenger service in 1982, has adopted ATS system for its signaling system. The ATS system has only a train stop function at the time of emergency, and Seoul Metro is planning to replaced them with ATC(Automatic Train Control)/ATO(Automatic Train Operation) system which can provide the dedicated speed control for headway reduction and automatic operation of train. Until all the ATS system is replaced with the new ATC system, both systems are to operate simultaneously at the same metro line. In this situation, ATS system sometimes reveals improper operation: train stops suddenly without any obstacles in front of it. These emergency stops cause interruption of passenger service, and abnormal abrasion of wheels and rail. This paper makes it clear that these interruptions are caused by EMI phenomena between ATS on-board device and ATC wayside device : Signal current flowing in AF track circuit of ATC is turn out to be a EMI source that prevent normal operation of the ATS on-board device. Although the two systems have different frequency-ranges (ATS system has frequency range between $78{\sim}130$[kHz] and ATC system has frequency range between $9.5{\sim}16.5$[kHz]), it turned out that EMI phenomena appears between the both systems. This is investigated by measuring the output signal from ATS on-board device passing over ATC wayside device. The FFT(Fast Fourier Transform) analysis of the signal reveals that AF track circuit signal is transmitted to the ATS on-board device and induce noise causing improper operation. The countermeasures to the EMI phenomena are examined in three ways; blocking EMI transmission, enforcement of EMS (Electromagnetic Susceptibility) of ATS on-board device, and blocking the EMI source. It is suggested that the practical solution be blocking EMI source temporarily, that is breaking AF track circuit signal when the trains with ATS on-board device pass over it. To this purpose, TODS(Train Occupation Detection System) is developed, and has made a success in preventing the EMI problem of Seoul Metro line 2.
