  • This paper analyzes the impact of digitalization on networks in Seoul Metropolitan Area by considering facility investment together with operatinng costs. A stepwise evolution method toward a digitalized double-homming architecture is proposed to accommodate most efficiently with existing analog-oriented networks.

서울대도시권 인구집중의 공간적 연관성 연구 (Spatial Association of Population Concentration in Seoul Metropolitan Area)

  • 본 논문에서는 공간통계 및 지리적 탐색 기법을 이용하여 공간연관성의 관점에서 서울대도시권 인구분포 변화를 분석하였다. 전역적 지수를 이용하여 1980년부터 2005년까지 25년간의 인구자료를 분석한 결과, 서울대도시권의 인구는 매우 강한 정적(+) 공간연관성을 나타내며 분포하고 있음이 확인되었다. 이는 각 지역의 인구분포가 주변지역의 인구분포에 영향을 받았음을 의미한다. 이어서 국지적 지수를 이용하여 실제 어떤 지역에 군집이 형성되고 있는지 분석하였으며, 서울시의 남쪽 및 서쪽, 즉 인천 및 경기지역으로 군집이 이동하고 있음이 확인되었다. 분석 결과는 향후 서울대도시권 관리 및 개발계획 수립의 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

1990년대 이후 수도권 경제의 구조적 변화에 관한 연구 : 노동생산성의 요소분해를 중심으로 (A Study of Structural Changes in the Seoul Metropolitan Area's Economy Since the 1990's : A Decomposition Analysis of Labor Productivity)

  • 본 연구는 한국 경제의 변화과정을 염두에 두고 GRDP, 1인당 GRDP, 인구, 고용 등의 지표를 가지고 전국대비 수도권 지역의 누적적 성장과정을 분석하고, 이러한 수도권의 누적적 성장과정을 선도하는 산업부문을 탐색하기 위해 전국대비 지역의 노동생산성을 요소분해하여 1990년대 이후 수도권 경제의 구조적 변화과정을 살펴보았다. 첫째, 수도권 지역에는 산업연관 및 집적경제효과로 인하여 기업 및 생산요소 등에 대한 강력한 흡인력이 누적적으로 작용하고 있다. 그 결과, 수도권 지역이 우리나라의 경제를 선도하고 있지만 비수도권과의 경제력 격차가 특히 1997년 외환위기 이후의 경기 지역에서의 제조업의 가파른 누적적 성장으로 인해 더욱 더 심화되고 있다. 둘째, 수도권 지역의 노동생산성은 1990년대 중 후반부터 상승하고 있으며 해당지역 산업구조의 고도화가 완만하게나마 진행되고 있다. 마지막으로 제조업, 금융보험업, 통신업 등이 전체적으로 수도권 지역 전체의 생산성지수의 증가에 중요한 역할을 하였으며 사회, 개인, 공공 및 기타서비스업, 부동산사업서비스 등의 서비스업과 전기가스수도업, 통신업 등이 고용의 확대와 재배치에 중요한 기여를 하였다. 이는 수도권 지역의 핵심 산업이 IT 중심의 제조업과 금융보험업을 포함한 생산자서비스산업이라는 점과, 대도시의 경제적 특성과 외환위기 이후의 경제상황을 반영한 서비스업에서 고용증가가 이루어지고 있음을 보여준다.

수도권 사회진출초기 임차자의 주거비 실태 (Housing Costs of Beginning-stage Career Young Renters in Seoul Metropolitan Area)

  • This study was aimed to explore housing costs and housing cost burdens of early-career young renter households in Seoul Metropolitan area. Between March 10 and April 24, 2014, an online questionnaire survey was conducted to young professionals in Seoul Metropolitan area living apart from their parents. Among the responses collected, this study analyzed 476 useable responses from renter households. Major findings were as follows: (1) Jeon-se renters' deposit was average 2.24 times their annual income; deposit of monthly renters with deposit was average 6.7 times their monthly income and their monthly rent was 18.6 percent of their monthly income; and monthly rent of monthly renters without deposit was about 23 percent of their monthly income; (2) thirty percent of the respondents were found to have housing cost burden paying 25 percent or more of their income for rental costs; and (3) about 55 percent received parental supports to pay current housing costs. The study findings implies that it is critical to extend provision of affordable housing units with small or no deposit for beginning-stage professionals.

Changes in dietary habits and chronic diseases before and after COVID-19 by regions using data from the 2018-2020 Korea Community Health Survey and Consumer Behavior Survey for Foods: a cross-sectional study

  • Objectives: This study examined the changes in dietary habits, the prevalence of chronic diseases, and mental health problems in the regional areas of the Republic of Korea before and after the COVID-19 pandemic to provide evidence of the status of regional health inequalities. Methods: This study analyzed Korean adults aged 19 or older who participated in the Korea Community Health Survey (n = 686,708) and Consumer Behavior Survey for Foods (n = 19,109) from 2018 to 2020. The participants were classified according to their residence area (Seoul metropolitan area, Metropolitan cities, Provinces); 2018-2019 were defined as before COVID-19, and 2020 as after COVID-19. The dietary behaviors, chronic diseases, and mental health problems were measured using a self-report questionnaire. Results: After COVID-19, the eating-out usage rate in the Seoul metropolitan area and Provinces decreased compared to before COVID-19 (P < 0.001), and when responding that they eat out, the frequency of eating out with household members in the Seoul metropolitan area increased (P = 0.024). The deliveries/takeout usage rate in the Provinces decreased after COVID-19 compared to before (P < 0.001). After COVID-19, the prevalence of obesity decreased in all regions (P < 0.001), and the prevalence of hypertension increased significantly in the Provinces (P = 0.015). The prevalence of diabetes mellitus increased continuously before and after COVID-19 in all regions (P < 0.002). High-risk subjective stress levels increased significantly in the Seoul metropolitan area (P < 0.001), and sleep duration significantly increased in all regions (P < 0.001). Major depressive disorder was reduced significantly in Metropolitan cities (P = 0.042) and Provinces (P < 0.001). Conclusions: After the COVID-19 pandemic, the prevalence of chronic diseases and mental health problems showed regional differences along with changes in dietary habits. It is necessary to reflect the regional differences in dietary habits in future policies resolving regional health inequalities.

광역도시계획을 고려한 수도권 도시 성장주기 분석 (An Analysis of Urban Spatial Cycles Considering Wide Area City Plan in Seoul Metropolitan Area)

  • 본 연구에서는 수도권 인구를 분석하여 도시 성장주기 변화를 밝히고, 각 권역별 특성을 파악해보고자 한다. 이를 위해 최근 일본에서 활발히 연구되고 있는 도시 성장주기 방법론인 ROXY 지수를 적용하였다. 분석결과, 중부지역, 남부지역, 수도권 전체적인 측면에서는 집중화 가속단계로 옮겨가려 하고 있으며, 교외화 단계에서 새로운 단계인 도심회귀로 전환될 가능성이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 교외지역인 북부지역과 동부지역에서는 현재 탈중심화 가속단계로 진행되었고 앞으로 탈집중화 감속단계로 전환될 것으로 예측되었다. 이를 통한 시사점으로는 수도권에서도 도시순환주기의 변화방향과 속도를 연계해 지역정비에 관한 정책대응을 실시하는 것이 필요할 것으로 판단된다. 본 연구의 결과는 향후 장기적인 수도권의 성장 및 쇠퇴를 가늠해 볼 수 있는 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

수도권에서 아황산가스의 황산염으로 전환시 각 과정의 상대적 기여도 (The Relative Contribution of SO2-to-sulfate Conversion Processes over the Metropolitan Seoul Area)

  • The major conversion processes of SO$_2$ to sulfate are reactions in gaseous, aqueous phase and on dust surface. Using the measurement data in Ganghwa, the background area of metropolitan Seoul Area, the relative contiribution of the conversion processes are estimated. Generally, aqueous cloud if the most important conversion path followed by dust surface, gas, and aqueous aerosol. Importance of conversion on dust surface increases for the dust storm period. The total conversion rate values over the metropolitan Seoul area are between 1.5 and 8.8$\times$10$^{-11}$ mole m$^{-3}$ air.

  • Nowadays, becoming wide area is going on over Seoul Metropolitan area. But urban railway, very important traffic facilities, is operated in normal operating position and it gives cause to week the function of commuting long distance. This paper is focus on studying the feasibility of rapid operation system in Seoul Metropolitan area through comparing the present state of urban railway in Seoul Metropolitan area with a case of the advanced facilities in developed country. And we develop rapid operation system in general aspect through only consideration of operation planning without improvement of facilities. Also, we come up with new concept of rapid operation system through investigation of limits of the preceding researches

서울특별시의 주행특성 분석에 관한 연구 (Analysis of the Driving Patterns Concerned with Fuel Economy in Seoul Metropolitan Area)

  • The driving patterns in Seoul metropolitan area were surveyed in an experiment involving 1,212km of driving along seventeen representative routes. The speed and fuel consumption data were recorded and the influence of driving patterns on vehicle fuel economy was analyzed by statistical techniques. The results showed that characteristics of driving in Seoul metropolitan area are far different from that of CVS-75 mode and then on-road fuel economy in Seoul may be small as compared with that of CVS-75 mode. Finally, it was proposed that CVS-75 mode fuel economy should be modified by applying adjustment factor to represent actual on-road fuel economy.

광역 교통권 설정에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Establishment of the Metropolitan Transportation Area)

  • The research deals with the establishment of transportation areas in the metropolitan cities. The purpose is three-fold ; 1) to review the existing literature : 2) to analyze the commuting (work and school) pattern and interregional movement pattern of passengers and freights ; 3) to establish the metropolitan transportation area based on the above analyses. The transportation area is defined by the analysis of trip pattern to the center city of each metropolitan area. The detailed indices for establishment are selected by the rank-size and time-distance analyses. For the operational purpose, the study defines 3 different transportation areas as follows : the first transportation area means the directly effecting region of the center city ; the second means the region with many reverse trips and development potentials ; and the third means the indirectly effecting region. It can be concluded that the first transportation area includes 10 cities and 5 counties in Seoul metropol tan region, Yangdsan-Gun, Kimhae-Gun and Kimhae-Si in Busan, Dalsung-Gun, Chilgok-Gun and Kyungsan-Gun in Daegu, Hwasung-Gun and Raju-Gun in Kwangju, and Daeduk-Gun in Daejun. These results could be expected to have many implications for the establishment of area-wide public transportation network, the metropolitan transportation decision-making bodies and others.
