  • The accelerated life tests of the catalytic gas sensor were performed at three different gas concentration conditions. From the test data, the power-Weibull model was estimated and the acceleration factor between test condition 25%LEL(Lowe Explosive Limit) and use condition 5%LEL was about 3 according to this acceleration model. Using this acceleration factor, life test specification for qualifying that B10 lifetime of the catalytic gas sensor meets the goal lifetime (5 years) was designed.

  • Sensor network consists of a large number of sensor nodes that are densely deployed either inside the phenomenon or very close to it. The life time of each node in the sensor network significantly affects the life time of whole sensor network. A node which drained out its battery may incur the partition of whole network in some network topology The life time of each node depends on the battery capacity of each node. Therefore if all sensor nodes in the network live evenly long, the life time of the network will be longer. In this paper, we propose Cluster-Based Power-Efficient Routing (CBPER) Protocol which provides scalable and efficient data delivery to multiple mobile sinks. Previous r(luting protocols, such as Directed Diffusion and TTDD, need to flood many control packets to support multiple mobile sinks and many sources, causing nodes to consume their battery. In CBPER, we use the fact that sensor nodes are stationary and location-aware to construct and maintain the permanent grid structure, which makes nodes live longer by reducing the number of the flooding control packets. We have evaluated CBPER performance with TTDD. Our results show that CBPER is more power-efficient routing protocol than TTDD.

  • Wireless sensor network consists of sensor nodes which are disseminated closely to each other to collect informations for the various requests of a sensor application applied for sensing phenomenons in real world. Each sensor node delivers sensing informations to an end user by conducting cooperative works such as processing and communicating between sensor nodes. In general, the power supply of a sensor node is depends on a battery so that the power consumption of a sensor node decides the entire life time of a sensor network. To resolve the problem, optimal routing algorithm can be used for prolong the entire life time of a sensor network based on the information on the energy level of each sensor node. In this paper, different from the existing Directed Diffusion and SPTN method, we presents a data dissemination protocol based on lower-power consumption that effectively maximizes the whole life time of a sensor network using the informations on the energy level of a sensor node and shortest-path hops. With the proposed method, a data transfer path is established using the informations on the energy levels and hops, and the collected sensing information from neighboring nodes in the event-occurring area is merged with others and delivered to users through the shortest path.

  • We manufactured a novel gas permeation thin film passivation by using inorganic Mg-Zn-F target which has better optical characteristics and high electronegativity. We fabricated targets in various composition ratio and formed about 200nm which is limited thickness of the flexible display. Applied to PLED device, the target which composed of $MgF_2$ and Zn at the ratio of 4:6, WVTR was reached the measurement limit of the equipment, $10^{-3}g/m^2{\cdot}day$ and the life time was increased 25 times better than PLED device which is non-passivation.

  • Social infrastructure is the basis of public welfare and should be recognized and managed as important assets. Bridge is one of the most important infrastructures to be managed systematically because the impact of the failure is critical. It is essential to monitor the performance of bridges in order to manage them as an asset. But current analytical methods such as predictive modeling and structural analysis are very complicated and difficult to use in practice. To apply these methods, structural and material condition data collection should be performed in each element of bridge. But it is difficult to collect these detailed data in large numbers and various kinds of bridges. Therefore, it is necessary to collect data of major measurement items and predict the life of bridges roughly with advanced information technologies. When certain measurement items reach predefined limits in the monitoring bridges, precise performance measurement will be done by detailed site measurement. This paper describes the selection of major measurement items that can represent the tendency of bridge life and introduces automated bridge data collection test-bed using wireless sensor network technology. The following will be major parts of this paper: 1) Examining the features of conventional bridge management system and data collection method 2) Mileage concept as a bridge life indicator and measuring method of the indicator 3) Test-bed of automated and real-time based bridge life indicator monitoring system using wireless sensor network

  • The most of important thing when we design a Wireless Sensor Network is resources. You have to consider energy efficient operation When you design Wireless Sensor Network. Because Sensor devices have a limited resources. In this paper, we proposed energy efficiency localization technique in Wireless Sensor Network. We used Cell ID technique for location search. This method can reduce power consumption and the network life time will be extension.

  • The architecture of WSN based Vehicle Speed Measurement System is presented in this paper from Telematics Sensor Network(TSN) to Management System. To verify the feasibility of the system, we implemented the vehicle speed measurement system and evaluated the accuracy of velocity measured by the system in our testbed, an old highway located near Kyungbu highway. The system performed over 95% of accuracy at 80kmph from the measurement. In addition, the battery life time of the sensor node was evaluated by simulation analysis with real measured current consumption profiles. Assuming the maximum average daily traffic in 2005, the battery life time is expected to be over 1.6 year from the simulation result.

  • There are many problems with the fire detection devices being used in currently, because it is difficult to find location of the source of fire and determine where devices are working or not. In this paper, we proposed fire detection and rescue system using wireless sensor network that can be real-time monitoring and determine safe exit. Fire detection and rescue system based on ubiquitous sensor network can know exactly source of fire and help determine rescue tactics using sensing data from wireless sensor nodes. Transmitted wirelessly in real-time thermal sensor and gas sensor information to analyze the GUI to monitor the status information output to the screen by use of a system implemented in everyday life, looked at the possibility.

  • The mean time to failure (MTTF) expressing the mean value of the system life is a measure of system effectiveness. To estimate the remaining life of component and/or system, the dynamic mean time to failure concept is suggested. It is the time-dependent Property depending on the status of components. The Kalman filter is used to estimate the reliability of components using the on-line information (directly measured sensor output or device-specific diagnostics in the intelligent sensor) in form of the numerical value (state factor). This factor considers the persistency of the fault condition and confidence level in measurement. If there is a complex system with many components, each calculated reliability's or components are combined, which results in the dynamic MTTF or system. The illustrative examples are discussed. The results show that the dynamic MTTF can well express the component and system failure behaviour whether any kinds of failure are occurred or not.
