In this paper the problem of a moving control of an automatic guided vehicle(AGV) which transports a dead body to a designated cinerator safely in a crematorium, an special indoor environment, will be discussed. Since a method of burying guided lines in the floor is not proper to such an environment, a method of moving control of an AGV based on infrared ray sensors is now proposed. With this approach, the AGV emits infrared ray to the landmarks adheres to the ceiling to find a moving direction and then moves that direction by recognizing them. One of the typical problems for this method is that dead zone and/or overlapping zone may exist when the landmarks are deployed. To resolve this problem, an algorithm of recognizing double landmarks at each time is applied to minimize occurrences of sensing error. In addition, at the turning area to entering the designated cinerator, to fit an AGV with the entrance of the designated cinerator, an algorithm of controlling the velocity of both the inner and outer wheel of it. The functional correctness of our proposed algorithm has been verified by using a prototype vehicle. Our real AGV system has been applied to a crematorium and it moves automatically within an allowable range of location error.

This study purposed to estimate the forest biomass using k-Nearest Neighbor (k-NN) algorithm. Multiple data sources were used for the analysis such as forest type map, field survey data and Landsat TM data. The accuracy of forest biomass was evaluated with the forest stratification, horizontal reference area (HRA) and spatial filtering. Forests were divided into 3 types such as conifers, broadleaved, and Korean pine (Pinus koriansis) forests. The applied radii of HRA were 4 km, 5 km and 10 km, respectively. The estimated biomass and mean bias for conifers forest was 222 t/ha and 1.8 t/ha when the value of k=8, the radius of HRA was 4 km, and $5{\times}5$ modal was filtered. The estimated forest biomass of Korean pine was 245 t/ha when the value of k=8, the radius of HRA was 4km. The estimated mean biomass and mean bias for broadleaved forests were 251 t/ha and -1.6 t/ha, respectively, when the value of k=6, the radius of HRA was 10 km. The estimated total forest biomass by k-NN method was 799,000t and 237 t/ha. The estimated mean biomass by ${\kappa}NN$method was about 1t/ha more than that of filed survey data.
Mobile IPv6(MIPv6) features have several defects such as overloading of nodes, loss of wireless signals, packet loss, movement problem and so forth. Proxy Mobile IPv6 (PMIPv6) got over the limit of MIPv6 problems. MIPv6 features have several defects such as overloading of nodes, loss of wireless signals, packet loss, movement problem and so forth. Research on PMIPv6, which features network-based mobility is actively in progress in order to resolve these issues. PMIPv6 is emerging as a new paradigm that can overcome the limitations of the existing MIPv6. Nevertheless, such PMIPv6 also incurs problems during hand-over. While it offers a solution to node-based problems, it does, too, create long delay times during hand-over. Since MN (Mobile Node) has been sensing its own movements on MIPv6, fast handover can be done easily. However it can't apply fast handover like MIPv6, as it can't apply fast handover like MIPv6 In this paper, the author solved hand-over problem on MIPv6. MAG knows location information of MN and if MN moves into other MAG's area, Location Server gives MN information to the MAG. Therefore, this mechanism makes hand-over process easier.

Since the implementation of the sunset law in 2020, concerns have been raised over the reckless development of long-term non-executed urban parks. In this study, the FSDAF method and CASA-NPP model were used to evaluate the annual average NPP of long-term non-executed urban parks in Seoul. Based on this, the carbon loss and economic value were assessed under five development scenarios. The total NPP value of long-term non-executed urban parks, except for the greenbelt area in Seoul, was 4,892.18 t C. In the first scenario, the NPP and cost were 4,892.18 t C of vegetation carbon and 1.18 billion won, 2,548.55 t C of vegetation carbon and 615 million won in the second scenario, 238.94 t C of vegetation carbon and 58 million won in the third scenario, 848.38 t C of vegetation carbon and 205 million won in the fourth scenario, and 1,596.00 t C of vegetation carbon and 385 million won in the fifth scenario. These results are meaningful for evaluating vegetation carbon and economic value loss according to five different development scenarios. The results of this study are expected to be useful for the preparation of measures to minimize the impact of the development of long-term non-executed urban parks.
The two reflective channels(red and near infrared spectrum) of advanced very high resolution radiometer(AVHRR) data were used to classify primary vegetation cover types in the Korean Peninsula. From the NOAA-11 satellite data archive of 1991, 27 daytime scenes of relatively minimum cloud coverage were obtained. After the initial radiometric calibration, normalized difference vegetation index(NDVI) was calculated for each of the 27 data sets. Four or five daily NDVI data were then overlaid for each of the six months starting from February to November and the maximum value of NDVI was retained for every pixel location to make a monthly composite. The six bands of monthly NDVI composite were nearly cloud free and used for the computer classification of vegetation cover. Based on the temporal signatures of different vegetation cover types, which were generated by an unsupervised block clustering algorithm, every pixel was classified into one of the six cover type categories. The classification result was evaluated by both qualitative interpretation and quantitative comparison with existing forest statistics. Considering frequent data acquisition, low data cost and volume, and large area coverage, it is believed that AVHRR data are effective for vegetation cover type mapping at regional scale.

Tin dioxide, $SnO_2$, is a well-known n-type semiconductor that shows change in resistance in the presence of gas molecules, such as $H_2$, CO, and $CO_2$. Considerable research has been done on $SnO_2$ semiconductors for gas sensor applications due to their noble property. The nanomaterials exhibit a high surface to volume ratio, which means it has an advantage in the sensing of gas molecules. In this study, SnO nanoplatelets were grown densely on Si substrates using a thermal CVD process. The SnO nanostructures grown by the vapor transport method were post annealed to a $SnO_2$ phase by thermal CVD in an oxygen atmosphere at $830^{\circ}C$ and $1030^{\circ}C$. The pressure of the furnace chamber was maintained at 4.2 Torr. The crystallographic properties of the post-annealed SnO nanostructures were investigated by Raman spectroscopy and XRD. The change in morphology was confirmed by scanning electron microscopy. As a result, the SnO nanostructures were transformed to a $SnO_2$ phase by a post-annealing process.
This study conducted sedimentological and geophysical surveys for 3 years (2006-2008) in southern Gyeonggi Bay, Korea to elucidate temporal changes in subaqueous dune morphology on a sand ridge trending northeast to southwest that has been excavated by marine sand mining. The sand ridge (~20 m in height, ~2 km in width and 3~4 km in length) has a steep slope on the NW side and a gentle slope on the SE side, creating an asymmetric profile. Large (10~100 m in length) and very large (>100 m in length) dunes occurring on the SE side of the ridge show a northeastward asymmetrical shape, whereas dunes on the NW side destroyed by marine sand mining display a southwestward asymmetry. The comparison between Flemming (1988)'s correlation and the height-length correlation of this study indicates that tidal current and availability of sand sediment are major controlling factors to the development and maintenance of dunes. Depth and sedimentary characteristics (grain size) are not likely to be major controlling factors, but indirectly influence dune growth by hydrological and sedimentary processes. The length and the height of dunes decrease toward the southeastern trough away from the crest of the ridge. These features result from the decrease of tidal current and sediment availability. The length and the height of dunes on the southeast side decrease gradually over time. This is a result of the interaction between tidal current and the decrease in sediment availability due to sediment extraction by marine sand mining. Marine sand mining has destroyed the dunes directly, causing irregular shapes of shorter length and lower height. The coarse fraction of suspended sediments is transported and deposited very close to the sand pit. By contrast, relatively fine sediments are transported by the tidal current and deposited over a wide range by the settling-lag effect, resulting in a decrease of sediment grain size in the area where suspended sediments are deposited. In addition, marine sand mining, decreases the height of dunes. Therefore, morphological and sedimentological characteristics of dunes around the sand pits will be significantly changed by future sand mining activities.

Recently, global warming for climate system is a crucial issue over the world and it brings about severe climate change, abnormal temperature, a downpour, a drought, and so on. Especially, a drought over the earth surface accelerates desertification which has been advanced over the several years mainly originated from a climatic change. The objective of this study is to detect variation of vegetation water condition around China and Mongolia desert by using satellite data having advantage in observing surface biological system. In this study, we use SPOT/VEGETATION satellite image to calculate NDWI (Normalized Difference Water Index) around study area desert for monitoring of status of vegetation characteristics. The vegetation water status index from remotely sensing data is related to desertification since dry vegetation is apt to desertify. We can infer vegetation water status using NDWI acquired by NIR (Near infrared) and SWIR (Short wave infrared) bands from SPOT/VGT. The consequence is that NDWI decreased around desert from 1999 to 2006. The areas that NDWI was decreased are located in the northeast of Mongolian Gobi desert and the southeast of China Taklamakan desert.
The basement rock of upper stream of Keum River Valley consists of Precambrian gneiss which is resistant to weathering. That of mid and lower stream valley, however, is mainly composed of Mesozoic granites which are vulnerable to weathering. The upstream part of Geum River Basin is typified by the deeply-incised and steep meandering streams, whereas mid and lower part is characterized by wide floodplain and gently dipping river bottom toward the Yellow Sea. In particular flooding deposits, in which are imprinted a number of repetitions of erosion and sedimentation during the Holocene, are widely distributed in the lower stream of Geum River Basin. For understanding of erosions in the mid and lower stream of Geum River Basin, the rate of erosion of each small basins were estimated by using the data of field survey, erosional experiments and GIS ananlysis. It was revealed that erosion rate appeared highest in granite areas, and overall areas, in this field survey were represented by relatively high erosion rates. By implemeatation of remote sensing and imagery data, the temporal changes of river bed sediments for about last 11 years were successfully monitored. Observed as an important phenomenon is that the river bed has been risen since 1994 when an embankment (Dyke) was constructed in the estuarine river mouth. From the results derived from the detailed river bed topographical map made in this investigation, the sedimentation of the lower river basin is considered to be deposited with about 5 cm/year for the last 11 years. Based on this river bed profile analysis by HEC-6 module, it is predicted that Geum River bed of Ganggyeong area is continuously rising up in general until 2004. Although extraction of a large amount of aggregates from Gongju to Ganggyung areas, the Ganggyung lower stream shows the distinct sedimentation. Therefore, it is interpreted that the active erosions of tributary basins Geum drainage basins can affect general river bed rising changes of Geum River.
This study was carried out to classify and evaluate the land cover map using Landsat TM data in Pyeongtaeg City. DGPS data, aerial photography, topographical map were used for selection the training sets and accuracy assessment. The overall accuracy and Kappa coefficient of the land cover classification map(using supervised classification with 13 classes) with Landsat TM data(16 June. 1997) were respectively, 86.8%, 85.4%, but the user's accuracy of urban/village and vinyl-house was below 60%, and the producer's accuracy of read and vinyl-house below 70%. Maybe it was caused the spectral reflectance characteristics, heterogeneity and small distribution area on the artificial things such as urban/village, vinyl_house and road, etc. And then, the agricultural land cover classification system using remote sensing data in Korea was to classify level I and II. Level I consisted of 5 classes such as agricultural land, forest land, water, barren land, urban and built-up land.
