  • There are two approaches in the study of emotion in the physiological psychology. The first is to clarify the brain mechanism of emotion, and the second is to evaluate objectively emotions using physiological responses along with our feeling experience. The method presented here belongs to the second one. Our method is based on the "level-crossing point detection" method. which involves the analysis of frequency fluctuations of EEG and is characterized by estimation of emotionality using coefficients of slopes in the log-power spectra of frequency fluctuation in alpha waves on both the left and right frontal lobe. In this paper we introduce a new theory of estimation on an individual's emotional state by using our non-invasive and easy measurement apparatus.

  • This work presents an estimation for stress status using biosignal and fuzzy theory. Stress is estimated by 'coin-build' experiment with two type, relax and stress status. The estimator uses five biosignals, fuzzy logic to combine these signals and physiological knowledge. The system was tested in 10 records of healthy indivisuals and acheived a template of a stress progress. This work presents an estimation for stress status using biosignal and fuzzy theory. • In recently, Is inhabiting more than 70% indoors during a day in case of company employee and ordinary people which is looking at usual business. Therefore Thermal comfort of human body about indoor temperature and air flow acting very heftily. When intestine temperature is fallen for external low temperature and air flow in winter in case enter into heated room feel comfort by effect of temperature and feel comfort or discomfort by room heating condition gradually. Therefore it is important that grasp thermal comfort about temperature and air flow in heating to keep continuous comfort in indoor dwelling. Temperature and thermal comfort factor of emotion & sensitivity image exert fair effect since heating middle although thermal comfort change greatly effect on sensation about temperature at actuality heating early. Need much study yet in vantage point of emotion & sensitivity although much study were held about thermal and comfort sensibility and when heat in existing research until now. Therefore this study is targeting that evaluate thermal comfort through introduction of estimation method by emotion & sensibility image real and synthetic sensibility about thermal environment that is becoming winter heating.

  • This research was the first step to develop Expert System for Evaluation of Human Sensibility, where human sensibility can be inferred from objective physiological signals. The study aim was to develop an algorithm in which human arousal level can be judged using measured physiological signals. Fuzzy theory was applied for mathematical handling of the ambiguity related to evaluation of human sensibility, and the degree of belonging to a certain sensibility dimension was quantified by membership function through which the sensibility evaluation was able to be done. Determining membership function was achieved using results from a physiological signal database of arousal/relaxation that was generated from imagination. To induce one final result (arousal level) based on measuring the results of more than 2 physiological signals and the membership function of each physiological signal, Dempster-Shafer's Rule of Combination in Evidence was applied, through which the final arousal level was inferred.

  • The objectives of this study the effects of fabric noise from active wear on electrodiagnosis(EMG), to examine the effects on subjective sensation, and to relate the EMG results and the subjective sensation.. Five nylon water repellent taffeta fabrics were rubbed each other and the fabric noise were recorded. EMG was done from 10 female university students and electrodes were attached on each participant's upper arm and lower am. The subjective sensation was measured by FMME(Free Modulus Magnitude Estimation). The EMG values from upper arm showed higher voltage than those from lower arm, and the differences between values with fabric sound and without were larger at upper arm than those at lower am. EMG decreased when fabric sound was evaluated soft and pleasant, however It increased in proportion as fabric sound was evaluated loud and sharp. The predicted models for subjective sensation using physical sound properties and EMG results were well explained except roughness. Pleasantness was well predicted by EMG at upper am and EMG at lower arm, as the result, it was explained that the lower the EMG, the more pleasant the participant.

  • The unique colors of paper, that is, blue, green, red, and yellow were used in the estimation of color from the subjective feeling. The monochrome with unique color or the unique color surrounded with the background color was presented. subject gazed the monochrome or the unique color, which was tailed target rotor. The target and background color were the complementary color each other. The various ratios of the area of gazed color and background were taken. Subject answered the level of subjective feeling consisted of pair of adjective items for unique color presented. With the use of the subjective feeling for the target color presented, the estimation of the unique color was cai\ulcornerlied out due to Fuzzy theory and neural networks. The results of color difference between unique color presented and the estimated color gave very small value for the case without background, while the results of the case with background color depended on the ratio of area of presented color and background color till the ration of 2:1, The relation showed the Kirschman's law, The color difference saturated In the increase of area of background with the ratio more than 2:1.

  • In order to investigate the relationship between fabric sound parameters and subjective sensation, each sound from 60 fabrics was recorded and analyzed by Fast Fourier transform. Level pressure of total sound (LPT), three coefficients (ARC, ARF, ARE) of auto regressive models, loudness (Z), and sharpness (Z) by Zwickers model were estimated as sound parameters. For subjective evaluation, seven sensation (softness, loudness, sharpness, clearness, roughness, highness, and pleasantness) was rated by both semantic differential scale (SDS) and free modulus magnitude estimation (FMME). As the results, the ARC values were positively proportional to both LPT and loudness (Z) values. In both of SDS and FMME, softness, clearness, and pleasantness were negatively correlated with loudness, sharpness, roughness, and highness. In regression models, softness and clearness by FMME were negatively affected by LPT뭉 ARC, while loudness, sharpness, roughness, and highness were positively expected. Regression models for pleasantness showed low values for R2.
