Characteristics of PEGylated Polydiacetylene Liposome and its Inclusion Complex Formation with α-Cyclodextrin

  • Diacetylene lipid monomers possess the capability to self-assemble into vesicles via polymerization under ultraviolet irradiation, resulting in the formation of polydiacetylene (PDA) liposomes. Exposure of the polymerized vesicles to external stimuli is known to induce a unique blue-to-red color transition. The cyclic oligosaccharide ${\alpha}$-cyclodextrin known for its use in many applications, such as drug delivery, purification, and stimulus sensing, is able to form an inclusion complex with poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) in aqueous solution. In this study, we prepared polymeric liposomes with PEG (PEG-PDA) with the aim of improving the stability of the vesicles and colorimetric response toward ${\alpha}$-cyclodextrin. We demonstrated that PEG-PDA liposome displays unique characteristics compared with native PDA liposome and it also shows apparent chromic properties of the inclusion complex formation with ${\alpha}$-cyclodextrin.

문제중심학습 패키지 개발 및 적용의 일 예 (An Example of Development and Application of PBL Package)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a Problem-Based Learning (PBL) package, test its application and evaluate students' recognition of the effectiveness of PBL in nursing colleges. Method: Thirteen steps were used in the process developing the PBL package. After its application, the first questionnaire for self-evaluation and satisfaction with PBL class was given to 94 nursing students in December, 2005. To further evaluate the students' recognition of the effectiveness of PBL, a second questionnaire was given to 83 nursing students out of the 96 in May, 2007 after clinical practice. Data analysis was conducted using means with standard deviation. Results: The results of students' self-evaluation showed high achievement in learning outcome and process using the PBL method. Also, they expressed satisfaction with the subject management, the lecturer and their peers after the PBL class. Students recognized that the PBL class had positive effectiveness in clinical practice and wanted more PBL classes and the inclusion of complex cases from well designed packages. Conclusion: PBL class could be considered as an opportunity to fortify student nurses' abilities to adjust to the real clinical situation.

β-CD 또는 아다만탄이 결합된 루테늄(II)-터피리딘 착화합물의 제조와 초분자 조립 (Synthesis and Supramolecular Assembly of Ru(II)-Terpyridine Complexes linked with β-Cyclodextrin or Adamantyl Group)

  • 아다만탄 또는 β-cyclodextrin이 결합된 루테늄(II)-터피리딘 착화합물(8, 9, 11)을 합성하고 1H NMR, 13C NMR 및 질량분석스펙트럼으로 구조를 확인하였다. 아다만탄이 결합된 루테늄(II)-터피리딘 착화합물(8, 11) 은 물에 전혀 녹지 않으나, β-cyclodextrin 수용액에 혼합할 경우 β-cyclodextrin과의 초분자를 형성하여 물에 잘 녹아들어갔다. 비슷한 방법으로 수용액 중에서 루테늄(II)-터피리딘 착화합물(8, 11)을 각각 착화합물 9와 혼합 하였을 때, 착화합물(8, 11)의 아다만탄 부분이 루테늄 착화합물 9의 β-cyclodextrin 내부에 포접 됨으로써 안정 한 초분자를 형성하였다.
