  • A DSP-based self-adaptive proportional-integral (PI) controller to control a DC-DC converter is proposed in this paper. The full-bridge topology is adopted here to obtain higher power output capability and higher conversion efficiency. The converter adopts the zero-voltage-switching (ZVS) technique to reduce the conduction losses. A parallel secondary active clamp circuit is added to deal with the voltage overshoot and ringing effect on the transformer's secondary side. A self-adaptive PI controller is proposed to replace the traditional PI controller. Moreover, the designed converter adopts the constant-current and constant-voltage (CC-CV) output control strategy. The secondary active clamp mechanism is discussed in detail. The effectiveness of the proposed converter was experimentally verified by an IGBT-based 10kW prototype.

  • This paper presents Hybrid PI(HBPI) controller of IPMSM drive using fuzzy adaptive mechanism control. In general, PI controller in computer numerically controlled machine process fixed gain. They may perform well under some operating conditions, but not all. To increase the robustness, fixed gain PI controller, HBPI controller proposes a new method based self tuning PI controller. HBPI controller is developed to minimize overshoot and settling time following sudden parameter changes such as speed, load torque, inertia, rotor resistance and self inductance. The results on a speed controller of IPMSM are presented to show the effectiveness of the proposed gain tuner. And this controller is better than the fixed gains one in terms of robustness, even under great variations of operating conditions and load disturbance.

  • PI controller is widely used as voltage control system of generator. However when a generator system has various characters of continuance, a new PI parameter decision for accurate control is a hard task as method of solving this problem, in this paper, the method to generator voltage control using Neural Network self adaptive control is presented. A property continuous feedback control gain of voltage control system is decided by a rule of delta learning. The function of proposed control method is verified by voltage control experiment results of DC generator.

  • The induction motor drive applied to field oriented control is widely used in industry applications. However, it is deceased performance and authenticity by saturation, temperature changing, disturbance and parameters changing because modeling of induction motor is nonlinear and complex. In order to control variable speed operation, conventional PI-like controllers are commonly used. These controllers provide limited good performance over a wide range of operation, even under ideal field oriented conditions. This paper proposes self tuning PI controller based on fuzzy-neural network(FNN)-PI controller that is implemented using fuzzy control, neural network, and adaptive fuzzy controller(AFC). Also, this paper proposes estimation of speed using ANN. The proposed control algorithm is applied to induction motor drive system using FNN-PI, AFC and ANN controller. Also, this paper proposes the anlysis results to verify the effectiveness of controller.

  • This paper shows that using the multivariable controller reduces the magnitude of fluctuations of the control signals which result improved control of the steam generator outputs. Comparison of the performance of the multivariable weighted adaptive controller(MWAC) with the performance of the existing PI controller and the self_tuning controller/1/, when the system goes through a transient mode, shows that the out-puts stay closer to their set points when they are controlled by the adaptive controller.

  • In this paper, a fuzzy adaptive controller is proposed for the process with large delay time and unmodelled dynamics. The fuzzy adaptive controller consists of self tuning controller and fuzzy tuning part. The self tuning controller is designed with the continuous time GMV (generalized minimum variance) using emulator and weighted least square method. It is realized by the hybrid method. The controller has robust characteristics by adapting the inference rule in design parameters. The inference processing is tuned according to the operating point of the process having the nonlinear characteristics considering the practical application. We review the characteristics of the fuzzy adaptive controller through the simulation. The controller is applied to practical electric furnace. As a result, the fuzzy adaptive controller shows the better characteristics than the simple numeric self tuning controller and the PI controller.

  • In this paper a self-tuning control algorithm has been utilized to control speed of a rolling mill DC drive system. Inner current control loop is composed of predictive current controller and the outer speed control loop is composed of the self-tuning PI or IP controller. Computer simulation results reveal that the adaptive control algorithm using self-tuning control is capable of following the typical set point variations required for a rolling mill in conjunction with load torque variations on the shaft of the drive.
