This paper proposes new preprocessing algorithm to extract minutiae in the process of fingerprint recognition. Fingerprint images quality enhancement is a topic phase to ensure good performance in a topic phase to ensure good performance in a Automatic Fingerprint Identification System(AFIS) based on minutiae matching. This paper proposes an algorithm to improve fingerprint image preprocessing to extract minutiae accurately based on directional filter. We improved the suitability of low quality fingerprint images to better suit fingerprint recognition by using valid ridge vector and ridge probability of fingerprint images. With the proposed fingerprint improvement algorithm, noise is removed and presumed ridges are more clearly ascertained. The algorithm is based on five step: computation of effective ridge vector, computation of ridge probability, noise reduction, ridge emphasis, and orientation compensation and frequency estimation. The performance of the proposed approach has been evaluated on two set of images: the first one is self collected using a capacitive semiconductor sensor and second one is DB3 database from Fingerprint Verification Competition (FVC).

This paper describes a design methodology for the CMOS current source which can be implemented in standard memory process. The proposed techniques provide a good characteristic against the power-supply variation by utilizing a self-bias circuit and the reduction of the first-order component of the temperature variation through the new temperature compensation technique and include a new current-sensing start-up circuit enabling a robust operation against the voltage noise generated during the operation of the chip. In addition to the circuit-design technology, techniques where the proposed CMOS current-reference circuit can be applied to the clocking circuits of a very high-speed DRAM are presented. The feasibility of the suggested design methodology for the CMOS current reference is demonstrated by both the analytical method and the circuit simulation.

Todays, many young people suffer from noise-induced hearing loss by using wearable hearing devices, such as Bluetooth headset. This paper present hearing loss reduction and more natural volumn control algorithms considering individual hearing characteristics and threshold of feeling for Bluetooth headset. Experimental results using CSR Bluetooth headset example design board(DEV-PC-1645) show that individuals maybe able to perceive without the inconvenience at the less sound intensity and the more sensitive frequency bands. As a result, we may prevent hearing loss to reduce excessive sound energy in each frequency bands.

OLED in the spotlight of display market has advantages of low power driving, self-emission and fast response. But it has disadvantages of inefficient luminescence and high power consumption. Most of PM(passive Matrix) DC-DC converters in common use is using voltage divider. This voltage divider type has some difficulties of suitable electric device selection for voltage division and of the stabilized output due to feedback current trimming. Therefore, noise analysis and power solution in OLED are important technologies having an effect on electric characteristics. In this dissertation, we have obtained the stable output by using digital signals in multi-channel DC-DC converter, the profit of power consumption reduction of driving source and economical efficiency in the PCB board size.

A new BIST(Built-In Self-Test) scheme to test ADC(Analog-to-Digital Converter) with a transition detector is proposed. The proposed BIST is able to replaces histogram method, the most popular approach in static testing of ADC. With a ramp signal as an input test stimulus, the proposed BIST calculates ADC's static parameters such as offset, gain, INL(Integral Non-Linearity) and DNL(Differential Non-Linearity). The three detectors in the proposed BIST can deal with a transient zone problem, a phenomenon due to random noise in real test environments and are cost efficient at various acceptable ranges determined as a test spec. The simulation results validate that our method performs accurate static test and show the reduction of the hardware overhead.

Most of natural images have a special property, what is called self-similarity, which is the basis of fractal image coding. Even though an image has local stationarity in several homogeneous regions, it is generally non-stationarysignal, especially in edge region. This is the main reason that poor results are induced in linear techniques. In order to overcome the difficulty we propose a non-linear technique using self-similarity in the image. In our work, an image is classified into stationary and non-stationary region with respect to sample variance. In case of stationary region, do-noising is performed as simply averaging of its neighborhoods. However, if the region is non-stationary region, stationalization is conducted as make a set of center pixels by similarity matching with respect to bMSE(block Mean Square Error). And then do-nosing is performed by Gaussian weighted averaging of center pixels of similar blocks, because the set of center pixels of similar blocks can be regarded as nearly stationary. The true image value is estimated by weighted average of the elements of the set. The experimental results show that our method has better performance and smaller variance than other methods as estimator.
Although application of electrical methods in Korea began with observation of self potentials before World War II, the methods were developed slowly by the beginning of 1980's when a major burst of development activity took place. DC resistivity methods are applied in Korea more to geotechnical problems rather than to environmental ones unlike other developed countries. As with every other branch of technology, the evolving speed of the silicon chip and of streaming data to hard disk has revolutionized data collection and noise reduction processing. The last two decades saw major advances in data collection, processing, and interpretation of electrical data. Development of smooth-model two-dimensional (2D) resistivity inversion is one of the most visible changes to geophysical interpretation of the last 40 years and is now routinely applied to apparent resistivity data. The ability to represent resistivities in section rather than pseudosection view has revolutionized interpretation. Although calculation of sensitivities for general electromagnetic problems require numerous forward modelings, DC resistivity methods can enjoy computational efficiencies if sources and receivers occupy the same position, and previously intractable 3D inversion is now becoming available.
To reduce the chattering errors of reed switch sensors used for automatic remote measurement of water supply system, a reed switch sensor was analyzed and improved. The operation of reed switch sensors can be described as a mechanical contact by approximation of permanent magnet piece to generate an electrical pulse. The reed switch sensors are used in measurement application by detecting the rotational or translational displacement. To apply for flow measurement devices, the reed switch sensors should keep high reliability. They are applied for the electronic digital type of water flow meters. The reed switch sensor is just installed simply on the mechanical type flow meter. A small magnet is attached on a pointer of the water meter counter rotor. Inside the reed sensor, two steel leaf springs make mechanical contact and apart as rotation of flow meter counter. The counting electrical contact pulses can be converted as the water flow amount. The MCU sends the digital flow rate data to the server using the wireless communication network. But it occurs data difference or errors by chattering noise. The reed switch sensor contains chattering error by it self at the force equivalent position. The vibrations such as passing car near to the switch sensor installed location. In order to reduce chattering error, most system uses just software methods for example using filter and also statistical calibration methods. The chattering errors were reduced by changing leaf spring structure using mechanical hysteresis characteristics.
MRI is superior when contrasted to help the organization generate artifacts resolution, but also affect the diagnosis and create a image that can not be read. Metal is inserted into the tooth, it is necessary to often be inhibited in imaging by causing the geometric distortion due to the majority and if the difference between the magnetic susceptibility of a ferromagnetic material or paramagnetic reducing them. The purpose of this study is to conduct a metal artefact in accordance with the analysis using a diamagnetic material. The magnetic material include a wire for the orthodontic bracket and a stainless steel was used as a diamagnetic material was used copper, zinc, bismuth. Testing equipment is sequenced using 1.5T, 3T was used was measured using a SE, TSE, GE, EPI. A self-produced phantom material was used for agarose gel (10%) to a uniform signal artifacts causing materials are stainless steel were tested by placing in the center of the phantom and cover inspection of the positive cube diamagnetic material of 10mm each length. After a measurement artefact artifact zone settings area was calculated using the Wand tool After setting the Low Threshold value of 10 in the image obtained by subtracting images, including magnetic material from a pure tool phantom images using Image J. Metal artifacts occur in stainless steel metal artifact reduction was greatest in the image with the bismuth diamagnetic materials of copper and zinc is slightly reduced, but the difference in degree will not greater. The reason for this is thought to be due to hayeotgi offset most of the susceptibility in bismuth diamagnetic susceptibility of most small ferromagnetic. Most came with less artifacts in image of bismuth in both 1.5T and 3T. Sequence-specific artifact reduction was most reduced artifacts from the TSE 1.5T 3T was reduced in the most artifacts from SE. Signal-to-noise ratio was the lowest SNR is low, appears in the implant, the 1.5T was the Implant + Bi Cu and Zn showed similar results to each other. Therefore, the results of artifacts variation of diamagnetic material, magnetic susceptibility (${\chi}$) is the most this shows the reduced aspect lower than the implant artificial metal artifacts criteria in the video using low bismuth susceptibility to low material the more metal artifacts It was found that the decrease. Therefore, based on the study on the increase, the metal artifacts reduction for the whole, as well as dental prosthesis future orthodontic materials in a way that can even reduce the artifact does not appear which has been pointed out as a disadvantage of the solutions of conventional metal artifact It is considered to be material.
