The main purpose of this study is to select the appropriate wild plants on the rooftop. For the purpose of the experiments, 14 wild plants(12 korean native wild plants and 2 naturalized wild plants) were chosen. As the results of the experiments, the wild plants growing on the culture soil(perlite) Among the 14 kinds of wild plants, such as Chrysanthemum boreale, Taraxacum mongolicum, Aster Koraiensis, Aster yomena, Oenothera odorata, Oenothera lamarckiana, Patrinia scabiosaefolia showed good effects on growth of above ground parts. Therefore, these plants will effective for the rooftop revegation. Callistephus chinensis and Lotus corniculatus var. Japonicus showed good height growth, wherase covering rate was worst. Chrysanthemum boreale, Platycodon grandiflorum, Patrinia scabiosaefolia were plant height, wherase covering rate was not good. As the results of the experiments, the wild plants growing on the culture soil(vermiculite) Taraxacum mongolicum, Aster Koraiensis, Oenothera lamarckiana, Aster yomena showed good effects on growth of above ground parts. Consequently, korean native wild plants such as Taraxacum mongolicum, Aster Koraiensis, Aster yomena and naturalized wild plants such as Oenothera odorata, Oenothera lamarckiana were effective wild plants for rooftop revegetation.
This paper deals with the selection of the important Influencing Factors (IFs) under accident management situations in nuclear power plants for use in the assessment of human errors. In order to achieve this goal, we collected two types of IF taxonomies, one is the full set IF list mainly developed for human error analysis. and the other is the IFs for human reliability analysis (HRA) in probabilistic safety assessment (PSA). Five sets of IF taxonomy among the full set IF list and ten sets of IF taxonomy among HRA methodologies were collected in the study. From the review and analysis of BRA IFs, we could obtain some insights for the selection of HRA IFs. By considering the situational characteristics of the accident management domain, candidate IFs are chosen. Finally, those IFs are structured hierarchically to be appropriate for the use in the assessment of human error under accident management situation. Three nuclear accidents such as TMI. Chernobyl and JCO were analysed to validate the proposed taxonomy.
The use of a marker gene in a transformation process aims to give a selective advantage to the transformed cells, allowing them to grow faster and better, and to kill the non-transformed cells. In general, the selective gene is introduced into plant genome along with the genes of interest. In some cases, the marker gene can be the gene of interest that will confer an agronomic characteristic, such as herbicide resistance. In this review we list and discuss the use of the most common selective marker genes on plant transformation and the effects of their respective selective agents. These genes could be divided in categories according their mode of action: genes that confer resistance to antibiotics and herbicides; and genes for positive selection. The contention of the marker gene flow through chloroplast transformation is further discussed. Moreover, strategies to recover marker-free transgenic plants, involving multi-auto-transformation (MAT), co-transformation, site specific recombination and intragenomic relocation of transgenes through transposable elements, are also reviewed.

Persimmon flowers are fruit-bearing female, pollen-bearing male, or hermaphrodite, containing both a pistil and a stamen. Using prominent PCNA persimmons as male parents is very important for breeding programs, as the selection procedure for new cultivars bearing male flowers requires a long time and a large field in a traditional crossbreeding method. To improve breeding efficiency through early selection of male flower-bearing plants at the seedling stage, analysis was performed on 88 major cultivars whose gender expressions are known, using two male flower selection markers recommended by Akagi et al. The OGI locus marker and DISx-AF4S marker results showed that 83 and 72 cultivars, respectively, matched in terms of gender expression and marker analysis. For the OGI locus marker, 890 plants were selected from 2,509 seedlings obtained from crossbreeding with the mother plant "Migamjosang," which was the breeding cultivar. Comparing the gender expression of the flowers and the marker with 1,186 crossbred seedlings, excluding the unfertilized and dead plants, inconsistencies were found in 401 plants (33.8%). For the DISx-AF4S marker, 636 plants were selected from 889 seedlings obtained from 12 cross-combinations. The results of the sex expression and marker analysis were compared to 379 plants, excluding the unfertilized and dead plants, and inconsistencies were found in 247 plants (65.2%). These results indicate that the examined DISx-AF4S and OGI locus markers would not be suitable for utilization in the breeding field.
The traditional plant imprownent methods consisted of pure line selection, cross breeding, heterosis breeding, polyploid breeding, mutati-onbreeding, ect.Biotechmoiogy is divided into gene spliclng , monocle-nal antibodies , protein engineering , agricultural research, and microbiological engineering. Of these , high plants deal with agricultural research, and the importent part of which is tissue culture and celLculture , Tissue .culture and cell culture are again divided into embryoculture, test tube fertilization, anther and pollen culture, somatichybridization , transformation, recombination, recombinant DNA moleculehybrid plasmid, ect For these haploid production, protoplast culture, protoplast fusion, selection and propagation, ect. , the technical sett-lement is needed.

Background: The study was carried out to assess the genetic variability present in ashwagandha and to examine the nature of associations of various traits to the root yield of the plant. Methods: Fifty-three diverse genetic stocks of ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) were evaluated for 14 quantitative characteristics. Analysis of variance, correlation, and path coefficient analysis were performed using the mean data of 2 years. Results: Analysis of variance revealed that the genotypes differed significantly for all characteristics studied. High heritability in conjunction with high genetic advance was observed for fresh root weight, 12 deoxywithastramonolide in roots, and plant height, which indicated that selection could be effective for these traits. Dry root weight has a tight linkage with plant height and fresh root weight. Further, in path coefficient analysis, fresh root weight, total alkaloid (%) in leaves, and 12 deoxywithastramonolide (%) in roots had the highest positive direct effect on dry root weight. Conclusion: Therefore, these characteristics can be exploited to improve dry root weight in ashwagandha genotypes and there is also scope for the selection of promising and specific chemotypes (based on the alkaloid content) from the present germplasm.

Abiotic stress is one of the major serious limiting factors in rice (Oryza sativa) and caused rice production losses. It is important to precisely screen valuable genetic resources for improving stress tolerance and understanding tolerance mechanism to abiotic stresses. Because there are differences of experiment designs for screening of tolerant plant in several studies related to abiotic stress, this study has performed to provide the rapid and efficiency screening method for selection of tolerance rice to drought and salinity stresses. Two week-old rice seedlings that reached about three leaf stage were treated with drought and salinity stresses and examined tolerant levels with tolerant and susceptible control varieties, and transgenic plants. To determine the optimum concentration for the selection of drought and salinity condition, tolerant, susceptible and wild-type plants were grown under three soil moisture contents (5, 10 and 20% water contents) and three NaCl concentrations (100, 200 and 250 mM) for 10 days at seedling stage. 200 mM NaCl concentration and 5% moisture content soil were determined as the optimum conditions, respectively. The described methodologies in this study are simple and efficiency and might help the selection of drought and salinity tolerance plants at the 3,4-leaf-seedling stage.
The new generation of nuclear power plants (NPPs) will likely make use of state-of-the-art technologies in many areas of the plant. The analysis, design, and selection of advanced human-system interfaces (HSIs) constitute an important part of power plant engineering. Designers need to consider the new capabilities afforded by these technologies in the context of current regulations and new operational concepts, which is why they need a more rigorous method by which to plan the introduction of advanced HSIs in NPP work areas. Much of current human factors research stops at the user interface and fails to provide a definitive process for integration of end user devices with instrumentation and control and operational concepts. The current lack of a clear definition of HSI technology, including the process for integration, makes characterization and implementation of new and advanced HSIs difficult. This paper describes how new design concepts in the nuclear industry can be analyzed and how HSI technologies associated with new industrial processes might be considered. It also describes a basis for an understanding of human as well as technology characteristics that could be incorporated into a prioritization scheme for technology selection and deployment plans.
In this paper, we study the tracking performance of a torsion disk system where the plant is required to track a triangular-type command signal with a small steady state error and delay. We investigate the tracking performance of the traditional inner/outer loop approach and underline its limitations in high performance applications. We then design a more advanced controller using the mixed sensitivity robust control approach and show that the tracking performance of the system can be improved substantially. The success of the design, even for the case of lightly damped plants such as the one considered in this paper, is largely the result of the proper weights selection used in the mixed sensitivity design. The main contribution of this paper is, therefore, the development of design guidelines for the weights selection when accurate tracking of periodic reference signals are desired.

The initial selection of plants is the decisive step in the ultimate success of any landscape planting. This study intended to establish a reasonable selecting criteria of tree in the landscape through the holistic consideration of aesthetic, functional, cultural, operational and ecological viewpoints. The matrices of evaluating the fitness of tree were modulated to 10 categories ; availability from the established nursery. aesthetic value, indigenous to the locality, maintenance, soil fertility requirement, environmental tolerances. growth rate. wild-life food production. use of plants in design and user's likes. This 10 categories were weighted to their fitness as high(10 points), medium(8 points) and low(5points). Thus suitable plants were identified which got 70 more points from total 100 points. Such a method was believed as a rational process to get trust from client. to persuade uneducated client and to be free from designer's prejudice through a case study. But it is important to landscape designer to recognize the relationship between the rationality which prevails throughout the modern technical world and the intuitive aspects of design that are essential for developing creative solutions to encourage creativity as well as analytical responsibility.
