  • Cowl cross bar, a component of automotive cockpit module, has been manufactured by using welding processes of several tube parts with different diameters. However, in order to reduce costs and increase the quality, it is required to develop a new production method to manufacture the cowl cross bar as one-piece In this study, therefore, eliminating the welding process, tube drawing process which is one of metal forming processes was designed by using combined drawing technique. In addition, the selectable range of area reduction ratio was defined as a design guideline and the designed process sequence was verified by finite element analysis.

  • 기존의 절차 지향 프로그램을 이해하고 유지.보수하기 위해서는 많은 비용이 필요하다. 이러한 절차 지향 프로그램에서 객체/클래스를 추출한다면 프로그램을 이해하고 유지.보수하는데 많은 비용을 절감할 수 있을 뿐 아니라, 객체 지향 프로그램으로 변환하는데 많은 도움이 된다. 본 논문에서는 객체/클래스를 추출하기 위한 절차와 구조를 제시하였다. 객체/클래스 추출기는 Clustering Engine, Stochastic Refinement and Decision Engine, Domain Modelling와 Comparison and Intergration Engine의 4부분으로 구성된다. 이러한 과정을 거치면서 기존의 연구 방법과는 다르게 가중치 주는 기준, 다중 객체 후보, 통계적 방법으로의 정재와 결정, 요구사항의 의미적 관점에 기초한 방법을 사용하였다.

Performance Degradation due to Phase Jitter in IEEE 802.16 Downlink Signals

  • A multilevel modulation with selectable constellations is adopted in the downlink subframe modulation of the IEEE 802.16 standard to increase the total throughput. One of the decision factors of the modulation is the location of SS(Subscriber Station) . Also, for the 802.16, low phase noise of local oscillator is needed due to high operating frequency and severe loss in the propagation channel. We investigate the BER of down-link subframe with the phase jitter under the standard's specified LOS(line of sight) and multipath environment with randomly generated SS locations. Simulation results show BER performance degradation for the modulation corresponding to selected constellations and additionally required SNR to achieve 10$\^$-3/ BER under various phase jitter.

  • In this paper, a new scheme of implicit MRAC is presented for single input single output discrete system. The MRAC can be applied to the nonminimum phase system, too. They have simple structure because the parameters of the controller are estimated directly by changing the plant output equation properly. In this scheme, the observation process is well seperated from the adaptation process, so the adaptation algorithm is derived from the exponentially weighted least square method which has fast convergence characteristics and can deal with the time varying plant. The consistency of the estimated parameter is proved. And it is also proved the whole system has the stabilizing property. The effectiveness of the algorithm and the structure is illustrated by the computer simulation of the model reference adaptive control for a third order plant. It is proposed how to select the selectable parameters in the adaptive control system from the simulation results.

Adaptive Kernel Function of SVM for Improving Speech/Music Classification of 3GPP2 SMV

  • Because a wide variety of multimedia services are provided through personal wireless communication devices, the demand for efficient bandwidth utilization becomes stronger. This demand naturally results in the introduction of the variable bitrate speech coding concept. One exemplary work is the selectable mode vocoder (SMV) that supports speech/music classification. However, because it has severe limitations in its classification performance, a couple of works to improve speech/music classification by introducing support vector machines (SVMs) have been proposed. While these approaches significantly improved classification accuracy, they did not consider correlations commonly found in speech and music frames. In this paper, we propose a novel and orthogonal approach to improve the speech/music classification of SMV codec by adaptively tuning SVMs based on interframe correlations. According to the experimental results, the proposed algorithm yields improved results in classifying speech and music within the SMV framework.

  • The purpose of this study is to present elementary data for space programming of pharmacy department in Korean Herb Medicine Hospital. The space composition of pharmacy department have been changed according to pharmaceutical service. In conclusion, the necessary spaces consist of medicine window, dispensary, herb medicine storeroom and decoction room. The selectable spaces consist of laboratory, processing room, manufacturing room and amenities for employees. This study suggest 2 types of space composition model according to total floor area and building scope. The location and area of pharmacy department change by means of change and growth of Korean Herb Medicine Hospital.

ORF Miner: a Web-based ORF Search Tool

  • The primary clue for locating protein-coding regions is the open reading frame and the determination of ORFs (Open Reading Frames) is the first step toward the gene prediction, especially for prokaryotes. In this respect, we have developed a web-based ORF search tool called ORF Miner. The ORF Miner is a graphical analysis utility which determines all possible open reading frames of a selectable minimum size in an input sequence. This tool identifies all open reading frames using alternative genetic codes as well as the standard one and reports a list of ORFs with corresponding deduced amino acid sequences. The ORF Miner can be employed for sequence annotation and give a crucial clue to determination of actual protein-coding regions.

An Integrated Process for the Separation and Purification of Biologically Active Proteins from Human Urine (인뇨로부터 유용단백질의 통합 분리정제 공정)

  • For the purpose of combining the purification processes for several biologically active proteins form human urine, an efficient integrated fractionation procedure has been investigated. The procedure was started by concentration with ultrafiltration and pH precipitation followed by a selectable combination of chromatography on gel filtration, adsorption, ion exchanger, affinity, and reverse phase column. By this process, the purified urokinase, epidermal growth factor and albumin migrated as a single band on SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and were fully active. The recoveries of these purified proteins were 48%, 17%, and 46%, respectively.

  • The role of female farmers is getting more important in decreasing of farmhouses, lack of young farmer, feminization and aging of farming population. In reality, female farmers have done two things of housework and farming. They have lived in the low level of welfare and cultural activities. The purpose of this study is to analyze the implementation and operation situations of the women farmers' happiness voucher policy in Chungnam, in order to suggest development measures. The results of this analysis are as follows: First, female farmers had high awareness and satisfaction for the happiness voucher. Second, they were not satisfied with selectable terms. Third, there was a limit to use the full amount due to low accessibility in rural areas. Fourth, the subsidy scale and the self-burden fee was not appropriate.

  • 본 논문에서는 실시간 얼굴인식 기술을 활용한 인물 선별 송출 시스템을 제안한다. 실시간 동영상 안에 등장하는 다수의 인물 객체 얼굴을 검출하고 인식하기 위해 Haar 특징 정보 기반의 다단계(Cascade) 학습 알고리즘을 사용한다. 이 시스템은 다수의 인물을 인식하고 학습할 수 있으며 인식된 각 인물의 송출 여부를 사용자가 직접 선택할 수 있는데 이 모든 선택 송출 과정을 실시간으로 처리할 수 있다. 여기에서 제시한 기술은 다자간 화상 채팅이나 다자간 화상 회의에서 특정인의 프라이버시 보호를 위한 기술로 활용될 수 있다.
