A designated verifier signature is a special type of digital signature, which convinces a designated verifier that she has signed a message in such a way that the designated verifier cannot transfer the signature to a third party. A strong designated verifier signature scheme enhances the privacy of the signer such that no one but the designated verifier can verify the signer's signatures. In this paper we present two generic frame works for constructing strong designated verifier signature schemes from any secure ring signature scheme and any deniable one-pass authenticated key exchange protocol, respectively. Compared with similar protocols, the instantiations of our construction achieve improved efficiency.

IoT applications are quickly spread in many fields. Blockchain methods(BC), defined as a distributed sharing mechanism, offer excellent support for IoT evolution. The BC provides a secure way for communication between IoT devices. However, the IoT environments are threatened by hacker attacks and malicious intrusions. The IoT applications security are faced with three challenges: intrusions and attacks detection, secure communication, and compressed storage information. This paper proposed a system based on double-blockchain to improve the communication transactions' safety and enhance the information compression method for the stored data. Information security is enhanced by using an Ellipse Curve Cryptography(ECC) considered in a double-blockchain case. The data compression is ensured by the Compressed Sensing(CS) method. The conducted experimentation reveals that the proposed method is more accurate in security and storage performance than previous related works.

In the Internet of Things (IoT) concept, devices communicate autonomously with applications in the Internet. A significant aspect of IoT that makes it stand apart from present-day networked devices and applications is a) the very large number of devices, produced by diverse makers and used by an even more diverse group of users; b) the applications residing and functioning in what were very private sanctums of life e.g. the car, home, and the people themselves. Since these diverse devices require high-level security, an operational model for an IoT system is required, which has built-in security. We have proposed the societal model as a simple operational model. The basic concept of the model is borrowed from human society - there will be infants, the weak and the handicapped who need to be protected by guardians. This natural security mechanism works very well for IoT networks which seem to have inherently weak security mechanisms. In this paper, we discuss the requirements of the societal model and examine its feasibility by doing a proof-of-concept implementation.

Owing to their low scalability, weak support on big data, insufficient data collaborative analysis and inadequate situational awareness, the traditional methods fail to meet the needs of the security data analysis. This paper proposes visualization methods to fuse the multi-source security data and grasp the network situation. Firstly, data sources are classified at their collection positions, with the objects of security data taken from three different layers. Secondly, the Heatmap is adopted to show host status; the Treemap is used to visualize Netflow logs; and the radial Node-link diagram is employed to express IPS logs. Finally, the Labeled Treemap is invented to make a fusion at data-level and the Time-series features are extracted to fuse data at feature-level. The comparative analyses with the prize-winning works prove this method enjoying substantial advantages for network analysts to facilitate data feature fusion, better understand network security situation with a unified, convenient and accurate mode.

The file security function, which this paper suggests, restricts the access of an unauthorized users by using password algorithm and saving file. Saved files that are encrypted are read by decrypting them with decryption algorithm. These features are user interface to design the program for user friendly. The security function implements both file encryption and decryption programs and tests whether the experiment works or not. In addition, when a decryption is progressed and the settings of between decryption and encryption are different each other, the security function also checks the possibility of decryption. We can enhance the security on important files stored in Windows servers or personal computers by developing this program.

Internet-of-Things (IoT) is an emerging technology that interconnects millions of small devices to enable communication between the devices. It is heavily deployed across small scale to large scale industries because of its wide range of applications. These devices are very capable of transferring data over the internet including critical data in few applications. Such data is exposed to various security threats and thereby raises privacy-related concerns. Even devices can be compromised by the attacker. Modern cryptographic algorithms running on traditional machines provide authentication, confidentiality, integrity, and non-repudiation in an easy manner. IoT devices have numerous constraints related to memory, storage, processors, operating systems and power. Researchers have proposed several hardware and software implementations for addressing security attacks in lightweight encryption mechanism. Several works have made on lightweight block ciphers for improving the confidentiality by means of providing security level against cryptanalysis techniques. With the advances in the cipher breaking techniques, it is important to increase the security level to much higher. This paper, focuses on securing the critical data that is being transmitted over the internet by PRESENT using key-based dynamic S-Box. Security analysis of the proposed algorithm against other lightweight block cipher shows a significant improvement against linear and differential attacks, biclique attack and avalanche effect. A novel key-based dynamic S-Box approach for PRESENT strongly withstands cryptanalytic attacks in the IoT Network.

This paper describes the ubiquitous home network (uHome-net) testbed and LonRF intelligent devices based on LonWorks technology. These devices consist of Neuron Chip, RF transceiver, sensor, and other peripheral components. Using LonRF devices, a home control network can be simplified and most devices can be operated on LonWorks control network. Also, Indoor Positioning System (IPS) that can serve various location based services was implemented in uHome-net. Smart Badge of IPS, that is a special LonRF device, can measure the 3D location of objects in the indoor environment. In the uHome-net testbed, remote control service, cooking help service, wireless remote metering service, baby monitoring service and security & fire prevention service were realized. This research shows the vision of the ubiquitous home network that will be emerged in the near future.
The security and privacy issues derived from unsecurely storing biometrics templates in biometric authentication/ recognition systems have opened a new research area about how to secure the stored biometric templates. Biometrics-based key generation is the newest approach that provides not only a mechanism to protect stored biometric templates in authentication/ recognition systems, but also a method to integrate biometric systems with cryptosystems. Therefore, this approach has attracted much attention from researchers worldwide. A review of current research state to summarize the achievements and remaining works is necessary for further works. In this study, we first outlined the requirements and the primary challenges when implementing these systems. We then summarize the proposed techniques and achievements in representative studies on biometrics-based key generation. From that, we give a discussion about the accomplishments and remaining works with the corresponding challenges in order to provide a direction for further researches in this area.

In order to publicly notify the information security (Internet or Cyber) threat level, the security companies have developed the Threat Meters. As the physical security devices are getting more intelligent and can be monitored and managed through networks, we propose a physical security threat meter (PSTM) to determine the current threat level of physical security; that is a very similar compared with the one of information security. For this purpose, we investigate and prioritize the physical security events, and consider the impact of temporal correlation among multiple security events. We also present how to determine the threshold values of threat levels, and then propose a practical PSTM using the threshold based decision. In particular, we show that the proposed scheme is fully implementable through showing the block diagram in detail and the whole implementation processes with the access controller and CCTV+video analyzer system. Finally the simulation results show that the proposed PSTM works perfectly under some test scenarios.
