  • To achieve confidentiality, integrity, authentication, and non-repudiation simultaneously, the concept of signcryption was introduced by combining encryption and a signature in a single scheme. Certificate-based encryption schemes are designed to resolve the key escrow problem of identity-based encryption, as well as to simplify the certificate management problem in traditional public key cryptosystems. In this paper, we propose a new certificate-based signcryption scheme that has been proved to be secure against adaptive chosen ciphertext attacks and existentially unforgeable against chosen-message attacks in the random oracle model. Our scheme is not based on pairing and thus is efficient and practical. Furthermore, it allows a signcrypted message to be immediately verified by the public key of the sender. This means that verification and decryption of the signcrypted message are decoupled. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first signcryption scheme without pairing to have this feature.

  • The HTTP does not support continuity for browser-server interaction between successive visits or a user due to a stateless feature. Cookies were invented to maintain continuity and state on the Web. Because cookies are transmitted in plain and contain text-character strings encoding relevant information about the user, the attacker can easily copy and modify them for his undue profit. In this paper, we design a secure cookies scheme based on X.509 public key certificate for solving these security weakness of typical web cookies. Our secure cookies scheme provides not only mutual authentication between client and server but also confidentiality and integrity of user information. Additionally, we implement our secure cookies scheme and compare it to the performance with SSL(Secure Socket Layer) protocol that is widely used for security of HTTP environment.

  • We have various e-commerce like on-line banking, stock trading, shopping using a PC or SmartPhone. In e-commerce, two parties use the certificate for identification and non-repudiation but, the attack on the certificate user steadily has been increasing since 2005. The most of hacking is stealing the public certificate and private key files. After hacking, the stolen public certificate and private key file is used on e-commerce to fraud. Generally, the private key file is encrypted and saved only with the user's password, and an encrypted private key file can be used after decrypted with user password. If a password is exposed to hackers, hacker decrypt the encrypted private key file, and uses it. For this reason, the hacker attacks user equipment in a various way like installing Trojan's horse to take over the user's certificate and private key file. In this paper, I propose the management method to secure private key of PKI using One Time Password certification technique. As a result, even if the encrypted private key file is exposed outside, the user's private key is kept safely.

  • In opposition to conventional networks, mobile ad hoc networks usually do not offer trust about nodes or online access through certificate authorities or centralized servers. But, nodes in those systems need process that can search path as well as trust each other to exchange data in safety For these reasons, traditional security measures that require online trusted authorities or certificate storages are not well-suited for securing ad hoc networks. In this paper, I propose a secure and effective method to search the optimized path using profitable flooding techniques on certificate chains in MANETS(Mobile Ad hoc NETworks). This system includes not only using routing protocols that are generally broadcasting packets but also finding nodes securely and verifing the process through tiust relationships between nodes that are searched.

  • In Korea, the Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) has been introduced. For secure information transmission and identification, the electronic signature authorization system of a certificate-based is built, and then the service provide. The certificate is stored in location what users can easily access and copy. Thus, there is a risk that can be stolen by malware or web account hacking. In addition, private key passwords can be exposed by the logging tool, after keyboard security features are disabled. Each of these security weaknesses is a potential conduit for identity theft, property/asset theft, and theft of the actual certificates. The present study proposes a method to prevent the private key file access illegally. When a certificate is stored, the private key is encrypted by the dependent element of the device, and it is stored securely. If private key leakage occurs, the retrieved key could not be used on other devices.

  • To perform the certificate validation processing on the user-side application induces the very considerable overhead because of the complex and time-consuming characteristic of the validation processing. Especially, the verification for digital signature over a certificate can be the major reason of the overhead, since the verification accompanies with the cryptographic calculation over each certificate on the certificate path. In this paper, we propose a new certificate validation scheme can reduce the overhead caused by user-side certificate validation processing and improve the utilization of CAs. As the result, our proposed scheme can not only reduces the overhead for the validation processing by decreasing the cryptographic calculation but also improves the utilization of CAs by employing them to the validation processing.

  • We generally use SSL/TLS protocol utilizing X.509 v3 certificates so as to provide a secure means in establishment an confidential communication and the support of the authentication service. SPKI/SDSI was motivated by the perception that X.509 is too complex and incomplete. This thesis focuses on designing a secure server and an implementation of the prototype which has two main modules, one is to support secure communication and RBAC, not being remained in the SPKI/SDSI server which was developed by the existing Geronimo project and the other is to wholly issue name-certificate and authorization-cerificate. And the demonstration embodied for our sewer is outlined hereafter.

  • The 3390 million people, around 83% of the adult population in Korea use smartphone. Although the safety problem of the certificate has been occurred continuously, most of these users use the certificate. These safety issues as a solution to 'The owner of a mobile phone using SMS authentication technology', 'Biometric authentication', etc are being proposed. but, a secure and reliable authentication scheme has not been proposed for replace the certificate yet. and there are many attacks to steal the certificate and private key. For these reasons, security experts recommend to store the certificate and private key on usb flash drive, security tokens, smartphone. but smartphones are easily infected malware, an attacker can steal certificate and private key by malicious code. If an attacker snatchs the certificate, the private key file, and the password for the private key password, he can always act as valid user. In this paper, we proposed a safe way to keep the private key on smartphone using smartphone's unique information and user password. If an attacker knows the user password, the certificate and the private key, he can not know the smart phone's unique information, so it is impossible to use the encrypted private key. Therefore smartphone user use IT service safely.

  • In a role based access control through attribute certificate, the use of role assignment certificates and role specification certificates can reduce management cost and the overhead incurred by changing roles, Highly distributed computing environments such as ubiquitous computing environments not having global or broad control. need another attribute certificate management technique, Actually just having role specification certificate separately reduce management cost, But for better performance we structure role specification, We group roles and make the role group relation tree, It results secure and efficient role renewing and distribution, For scalable role specification certificate distribution, the multicasting of packets is used, We take into account the packet lass and quantify performance enhancements of structuring role specification certificates.

  • In current e-commerce system, it happens that client's confidential information such as credit card numbers, pin numbers, or digital certificate may pass through a web proxy server or an altered proxy server without client's awareness. Even though the confidential information is encrypted and sent through SSL(Secure Sockets Layer) or TLS(Transport Layer Security) protocol, it can be exposed to the risk of sniffing by the digital certificate forgery at the proxy server, which is called the SSL MITM(Man-In-The-Middle) Proxy attack. In this paper, current credit card web-payment systems, which is weak at proxy information alternation attack, are analyzed. A resolution with certificate proxy server is also proposed to prevent the MITM attack.
