  • It was investigated that curved aluminum products with 'ㄷ' section or with 'h' section could be bended during extrusion by the extru-bending process. In order to make bending at the exit section of die, the flow of billet inside die cavity was controlled by the shape of billet. As results of the analysis of $DEFORM^{™}-3D$, it was known that the bending phenomenon at the die exit can be happened by the asymmetric section of billet. And it was known by the experiment with plasticine or aluminum material that an symmetric product with 'c' channel section and the product with flanged 'h' section could be bended because of asymmetric shape of billet.

  • Two kinds of blank shapes, optimum and square, are adopted to investigate formbility. Optimum blank shape is determined to construct an L-shape cup with uniform height and without flange part. For this purpose , rigid-plastic FEM analysis is applied with backward tracing technique. Maximum cup detph and strain distribution are measured experimetally for the products of the two kinds of blank shapes, which are optimum and square.It is confirmed that deeper cup without severe thickness reduction can be obtained fro the optimum shape.

저층 트롤의 그물입구 형상과 소해 단면적 (The gear shape and cross section of sweep at mouth of a bottom trawl)

  • Estimation of the gear shape and cross section of sweep at mouth of a bottom trawl net was described and applied to the field experiments obtained with the Scanmar system. The shape of the trawl net from wingend to the beginning of codend was assumed to be part of an elliptic cone of which the cross section was ellipse, and that of the float rope be of form $y_f=a_fx^{bf}$. In case of a bottom trawl with warp 180m long, the radius of ellipse, the cross section of sweep at mouth, the eccentricity of the ellipse, the inclination angle of float rope and the contribution of the side panel to net height were estimated in accordance with towing speed. The horizontal radius of the upper ellipse increased with increasing towing speed, the eccentricity of it became slightly bigger as increasing the towing speed which meant the shape of it being flat. And the inclination angle of the float rope was about between 7 and 12 degrees in case of the above bottom trawl.

  • Front-side members of automobile, such as the hat shaped section members, are structures with the greatest energy absorbing capability in a front-end collision of vehicle. This paper was performed to analyze energy absorption characteristics of the hat shaped section members, which are basic shape of side member. The hat shaped section members consisted of the spot welded side member which was utilized to an actual vehicle and CFRP side member for lightweight of vehicle structural member. The members were tested under static axial loading by universal testing machine. Currently, stacking condition related to the collapse characteristics of composite materials is being considered as an issue fer the structural efficiency and safety of automobiles, aerospace vehicles, trains, ships even elevators during collision. So, energy absorption characteristics were analyzed according to stacking condition and shape of section and compared the results of spot welded side member with those of CFRP side member.

고준위폐기물다발의 단면형상 변화에 따른 가압경수로(PWR)용 고준위폐기물 처분용기의 구조해석 (A Structural Analysis of the SNF(Spent Nuclear Fuel) Disposal Canister with the SNF Basket Section Shape Change for the Pressurized Water Reactor(PWR))

  • 가압경수로(PWR)에서 배출되는 고준위폐기물을 지하 500m의 화강암 암반의 처분장에 장기간(약 10,000년 동안) 처분하기 위하여 여러 구조적 안전성 평가수행을 통하여 처분용기모델이 개발되었다. 기존에 설계 개발된 가압경수로용 처분용기 모델은 구조적으로 처분용기 내부에 정사각형 단면의 네 개의 고준위폐기물다발이 처분용기 단면의 중심에 대칭되게 나란히 배열된 형태를 취하고 있다. 그러나 이와 같은 배열형태가 최적의 구조인지는 아직 결정할 수 없다. 특히 경량화하는 데에는 여전히 문제가 있다. 이러한 문제를 해결하는 방법은 처분용기 단면 중심에 대하여 대칭으로 배열된 네 개의 고준위폐기물다발의 단면형상을 변경시키는 것이다. 단면형상을 변경시키는 방법에는 정사각형 형상을 유지시키면서 단면을 회전시키는 방법과 정사각형 형상을 다른 단면형상으로 변경시키는 두 가지 방법이 있다. 기 수행된 연구를 통하여 정사각형 단면형상을 유지시키면서 단면을 회전시키면 회전각도가 $30{\sim}35^{\circ}$인 배열구조의 처분용기가 나란한 정사각형 배열구조보다 구조적으로 더 안정적이어서 경량화할 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 그러나 이 회전한 배열구조의 처분용기가 최적인지는 역시 아직 결정할 수 없다. 왜냐하면 정사각형이 아닌 다른 단면형상의 구조물에 대해서는 아직 구조적으로 더 안정한지가 확인되지 않았기 때문이다. 따라서 처분용기 단면 중심면에 대하여 대칭성을 유지하면서 고준위폐기물다발의 단면형상이 정사각형이 아닌 다른 단면형상의 처분용기구조에 대한 구조해석이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 네 개의 고준위폐기물다발이 처분용기 중심 면에 대하여 대칭적으로 배열되면서 단면형상이 여러 가지로 변화된 가압경수로용 처분용기에 대하여 구조해석을 수행하였다. 구조해석을 수행한 결과 기존의 설계 개발된 처분용기 단면의 중심에 대칭되게 나란히 고준위폐기물다발이 배열된 정사각형 단면의 처분용기보다 다발의 단면형상이 원형인 처분용기가 구조적으로 좀 더 안정성이 있음이 밝혀졌다.

  • In this paper described is the software developed to calculate the physical properties of arbitrary section shape. The software consists of arbitrary section display module(ASDM) and section property calculation module(SPCM). ASDM defines and displays the shape of arbitrary section and SPCM calculates its properties such as area, centroid, moment of inertia, torsional constant, etc.. In many cases, calculation of section properties is not easy because user has to define the vertex coordinates which are difficult to do so in the case of arbitrary section. In the developed software, however, since user is asked to define only points of central lines and thickness of arbitrary section, the calculattion task of arbitrary section is very effective.

가변롤성형 공정을 이용한 단면이 가변하는 프로파일의 형상변수 분석에 관한 연구 (Investigation of Shape Parameters for a Profile with Variable-cross Sections Produced by Flexible Roll Forming)

  • Flexible roll forming allows profiles to have variable cross-sections. However, the profile may have some shape errors, such as, warping which is a major defect. The shape error is induced by geometrical deviations in both the concave zone and the convex zone. In the current study, flexible roll forming was modeled with FE simulations to analyze the shape error and the longitudinal strain distribution along the flange section over the profile. A distribution of analytically calculated longitudinal strains was used to develop relationships between the shape error and the longitudinal strain distribution as a function of the defined shape parameters for the profile. The FE simulations showed that the shape error is primarily affected by the deviations between the distribution of analytically calculated longitudinal strain and the longitudinal strain distribution of the profile. The results show that the shape error can be controlled by designing the shape parameters to control the geometrical deviations at the flange section in the transition zones.

Feature Template-Based Sweeping Shape Reverse Engineering Algorithm using a 3D Point Cloud

  • This study develops an algorithm that automatically performs reverse engineering on three-dimensional (3D) sweeping shapes using a user's pre-defined feature templates and 3D point cloud data (PCD) of sweeping shapes. Existing methods extract 3D sweeping shapes by extracting points on a PCD cross section together with the center point in order to perform curve fitting and connect the center points. However, a drawback of existing methods is the difficulty of creating a 3D sweeping shape in which the user's preferred feature center points and parameters are applied. This study extracts shape features from cross-sectional points extracted automatically from the PCD and compared with pre-defined feature templates for similarities, thereby acquiring the most similar template cross-section. Fitting the most similar template cross-section to sweeping shape modeling makes the reverse engineering process automatic.

FRP 보강재의 최적 단면 형상 결정 및 평가에 관한 연구 (Structural Assessment of the Optimal Section Shape of FRP Based Stiffeners)

  • This paper deals with the structural assessment of metallic and non-metallic stiffened/monocoque plated marine structures under a lateral pressure load to identify appropriate combination of material and section configuration, especially at the preliminary marine structural design stage. A generic rectangular plated structure is exemplified from the metallic superstructure of a marine vessel and its structural topology is varied for the structural assessment. In total 13 different structural topologies are proposed and assessed using appropriate elastic solutions in conjunction with a set of stress and deflection limits obtained from practice. The geometry dimensions and weights of the structural topologies are calculated, and subsequently, the costs of the materials used in the structural topologies are reviewed to discuss the cost-effectiveness of the materials. Finally, conclusions are made with the aim of suggesting suitable structural topology for the marine structural member considered in this paper.

미세 펀칭 형상이 적층형 안테나 특성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of the shape of the micro punching on the stacked antennas characteristics)

  • Substitution of the stacked antenna for the normally pressed antenna in the mobile phone was tried for the purpose of decreasing its size. However, reduced size resulted in the difficulties obtaining the targeted characteristics with the bandwidth over 70MHz. The cross-section of the vias in the low temperature co-firing ceramics process was studied to find out effects on the bandwidth characteristics. Circular and rectangular cross-section of the via beneath different types of antenna patterns were simulated. Better bandwidth characteristics were acquired for the larger diameter of the circular section and for the rectangular section as the cross-section area increased. From the viewpoint of the shape of the cross-section, rectangular area showed better characteristics than the circular area with the same longest length in the cross-section.
