  • 변전소의 디지털화를 통한 변전소 자동화 시스템(SAS) 구축이 전 세계적 이슈이다. 변전소 디지털화는 기존의 변전소 기능에 정보 통신 기술을 적용시켜 변전소 운영을 효과적으로 수행할 수 있게 돕기 위해서이다. 디지털 변전소가 정상적으로 운영되기 위해 요구하는 높은 수준의 가용성과 전송능력 만족하기 위해 IEC TC 57 WG10은 IEC SC65 WG15의 IEC 62439 고 가용성 자동화 네트워크(Highly Available Automation Networks)를 디지털 변전소 네트워크로 차용하기로 결정했다. 그중 가용성과 신뢰성, 전송능력, 경제성을 이유로 IEC 62439의 중복 네트워크 프로토콜 중 HSR(High-availability Seamless Redundancy)을 디지털 변전소를 위한 네트워크 프로토콜로 이용하기 위한 많은 연구가 진행되고 있다. 특히 디지털 변전소 내부에서도 가장 높은 수준의 가용성과 네트워크 성능을 요구하는 프로세스 버스용 네트워크 구성 프로토콜로 적합하다. 본 논문은 실제 154Kv급 변전소 프로세스 버스에 HSR을 적용하였을 때 성능을 분석하였다.

Feasibility Evaluation of End-to-End Application of Single Disposable UHF RFID Tags to Automotive Production Lines (단일 일회용 UHF RFID 태그의 자동차 생산라인 일관 적용에 대한 타당성 검증)

  • Traceability is essential in modern automotive manufacturing. Among existing technologies, RFID is the most promising choice for this purpose. However, due to the harsh conditions of production lines, especially in the paint shop, automobile OEMs would require expensive dedicated RFID tags and readers, which are incompatible with standard RFID technologies. Unlike the manufacturing industry, the logistics industry uses UHF label tags for track and trace, which provides high performance and a low price. Recently, this technology has improved to the extent that it can be used in harsh conditions such as on metal parts or in liquid. Herein, we assess the technical, operational, and economic feasibility of UHF label-tag technology for seamless end-toend traceability. Based on prototyping, lab/field tests, and cost-benefit analysis, we have proven that the single disposable UHF tags can successfully replace the problematic and expensive tags used in most domestic automobile OEMs today.

RFID Agent based User Mobility Support Mechanism for Secure Information Transmission (안전한 정보 전송을 위한 RFID 네트워크 에이전트 기반의 사용자 이동성 제공 방안)

  • In this paper, we propose RFID network agent based user mobility support mechanism for secure information transmissions. When a user with RFID tag who enjoys service moves to different attachment points, the user mobility is supported to provide continuously service and the information can be securely transmitted. Although there is an existing study for providing user mobility, it has a problem which the handover latency time is long. To settle this problem, we present a scheme for minimizing handover latency time and compare handover latency time of existing and proposed scheme. We confirm that proposed mechanism has low latency time than existing mechanism by mathematical analysis using the queuing theory and show that proposed mechanism is more superior to the existing mechanism.

Analytical Approach of New Random-walk Based Mobility Management Scheme in IP-based Mobile Networks

  • In next-generation wireless networks, provisioning of IP-based network architecture and seamless transmission services are very important issues for mobile nodes. For this reason, a mobility management mechanism to support global roaming is highly regarded. These technologies bring a broader life by using a global roaming account through the connection of multiple devices or technology to mobile users; they also provide real-time multimedia services. This paper presents a comprehensive performance analysis of fast handover for hierarchical mobile IPv6 (F-HMIPv6), hierarchical mobile IPv6 (HMIPv6), Proxy Mobile IPv6 (PMIPv6), and fast Proxy Mobile IPv6 (FPMIPv6) using the fluid-flow model and random-walk model. As a result, the location update cost of the PMIPv6 and FPMIPv6 is better than that of HMIPv6 and F-HMIPv6. These results suggest that the network-based mobility management technology is superior to the hierarchical mobility management technology in the mobility environment.

Informed Spectrum Discovery in Cognitive Radio Networks using Proactive Out-of-Band Sensing

  • Cognitive radio (CR) users, known as secondary users (SUs), should avoid interference with primary users (PUs) who own the licensed band, while trying to access it; when the licensed band is unused by the PUs. To detect PUs, spectrum sensing should be performed over in-band channels that are currently in use by SUs. If PUs return to access the band, SUs need to vacate it, disrupting the SUs' communication unless a non-utilized band is discovered. Obtaining a non-utilized band in a short period facilitate seamless communication for SUs and avoid interference on PUs by vacating from the channel immediately. Searching for a non-utilized band can be done through proactive out-of-band (OB) sensing. In this paper, we suggest a proactive OB sensing scheme that minimizes the time required to discover a non-utilized spectrum in order to continue communication. Although, the duration spent on OB sensing reduces the throughput of the CR networks that can be achieved on band being utilized, the lost throughput can be compensated in the new discovered band. We demonstrate that, the effect of our proposed scheme on the throughput owing to OB sensing is insignificant, while exhibiting a very short channel discovery time.

  • As mobile traffic increases rapidly, DMM (Distributed Mobility Management) has been proposed as a mobility management technology for seamless communication of mobile devices as mobile traffic increases rapidly. the DMM distributes mobility management from the core network to the edge network, enabling stable binding updates with low latency. However, the DMM still have network delay and security problems for sessions. In this paper, we point out the problems existing in the DMM and propose a new protocol in which the MN (Mobile Node) directly participates in authentication and mutual authentication is correctly performed to solve this problem. We demonstrate not only security improvements but also performance improvements with performance analysis.

A Study on the Derivation of isoflux Radiation Characteristics of Planar Array Antenna for CubeSAT (큐브위성용 평면배열안테나의 isoflux 방사특성 유도에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, we studied the derivation method of isoflux radiation for a planar array antenna. The presented array antenna was designed for considering of 1U-sized CubeSAT with Ku-band communications. For the presented array antenna, 8×8 radiating elements were arranged, and the distance between radiating elements was set of half-wavelength. The excited current weighting for each radiating elements was calculated by the signal processing technique used in the design of the low-pass filter. As a result of analysis of the method proposed in this paper, it was confirmed that a seamless isoflux pattern can be derived.

  • On this study, we verified the possibilities of making T-branch pipe forming with carbon steel pipes and stainless steel pipes used by common FEM Program(ABAQUS) which are widely used in the fire protection and building construction fields. In this kind of T-branch pipe forming works, in principle, the seamless pipe is used. If the pipe has the seam, the forming face must be the opposite side of the seam. The forming works are carried out by a truncated cone shaped plug. We found that the face slope and the length of plug are the most important factor in pipe forming. Based on the results of forming analyses, we proposed the minimum height and thickness of pipe branch forming.

  • A Fast handover protocols for Mobile IPv6 networks can support seamless service by reducing handover latency to mobile nodes. To gain advantage derived from the fast handover in IEEE 802.16e networks, we propose a new fast handover protocol using a multiple simultaneous binding mechanism and a handover protocol based on trigger event for IEEE 802.21 in order to integrate IEEE 802.16e handover protocol and FMIPv6 handover protocol using link layer trigger. Through the numerical analysis, we compare performance of the proposed protocol and FMIPv6 protocol.

  • This paper proposes a product data model and associated process for CAE activities in context of integrated product development. The data model and process enable Product Lifecycle Management(PLM) systems to integrate currently separated CAE activities into the main product development process. The product view concept in the proposed product data model supports independent CAE activities including analysis of various alternatives based on shared product structures with design departments and seamless translation of the CAE result to design product views. The proposed model is validated through an implementation of a prototype PLM system that can integrate and synchronize CAE process with the company-wide product development process.
