실선 물분사 추진장치 성능시험 및 모형선-실선 상관관계 (Performance Test and Model-Ship Correlation for a Waterjet Propulsion System)

  • 본 논문은 복합지지형 초고속 화물 시험선인 "나래"호에 장착된 물분사 추진장치에 대한 해상성능시험에 대하여 기술하였다. 물분사 추진 장치에서 제트 속도, 임펠러에 걸리는 추력 및 토오크 계측 방법에 대해 설명하였다. 해상성능시험 결과로부터 물분사 추진장치의 성능을 분석하였고, 1996년에 수행된 유사 물분사 추진장치 모형시험 결과와 비교하였다. 해상성능시험로부터 추정된 유효마력은 모형선 결과와 좋은 일치를 보여준다. 시험선의 최적 부상 높이는 0.75m로 추정되고 물분사 추진장치의 준추진효율은 15노트에서 0.315으로 추정되었다. 본 시험을 통하여 펌프의 성능, 제트 효율, 유입부 덕트와 노즐에서의 손실 등에 관한 유용한 자료를 확보하였으며, 모형시험 결과와 유사한 경향을 보여주었다.

쇄빙연구선 ARAON호의 북극해 실선시험을 통한 해빙의 재료강도 특성에 관한 고찰 (Strength Characteristics of Arctic Sea Ice from Ice Field Tests of the Icebreaking Research Vessel ARAON)

  • The first Korean-made icebreaking research vessel "ARAON" had her second sea ice trial in the Arctic Ocean in Aug. 2010 after her first voyage to Antarctic Ocean in Jan. 2010 to gather various material and strength characteristics of sea ice. This is a detail report of ARAON 2010 summer Arctic voyage and this paper describes a standard test procedure to obtain proper sea ice data which provide basic information to estimate ice loads and icebreaking performance of the ship. The data gathered from sea ice in the Chukchi Sea and Beaufort Sea during the Arctic voyage of the ARAON includes ice temperature/salinity and the compressive/flexural strength of sea ice. This paper analyses the gathered sea ice data in comparison with data from the first voyage of the ARAON during her Antarctic Sea ice trial.

큰 빙판에서 아라온 호 쇄빙 속도 성능 해석 (Speed Trial Analysis of Korean Ice Breaking Research Vessel 'Araon' on the Big Floes)

  • The speed performances of ice sea trial on the Arctic(2010 & 2011) area were shown different results depend on the ice floe size. Penetration phenomena of level ice was not happened on medium ice floe and tore up by the impact force because the mass of medium ice floe is similar to the mass of Araon which is Korean ice breaking research vessel and did not shut up by the ice ridge or iceberg. The sea trial on the Amundsen sea was performed at the big floe which is classified by WMO(World Meteorological Organization). Three measurements of ice properties and five results of speed trial were obtained with different ice thicknesses and engine powers. To evaluate speed of level ice trial and model test results at the same ice thickness and engine power, the correction method of HSVA(Hamburg Ship Model Basin) was used. The thickness, snow effect, flexural strength and friction coefficient were corrected to compare the speed of sea trial. The analyzed speed at 1.03m thickness of big floe was 5.85 knots at 10MW power and it's 6.10 knots at 1.0m ice thickness and the same power. It's bigger than the results of level ice because big floe was also slightly tore up by the impact force of vessel based on the observation of recorded video.

공기윤활시스템 적용 선박의 시운전 속도성능에 대한 불확실성 해석 (Uncertainty Analysis of Improved Speed Performance of a Ship with an Air-Lubrication System in a Sea Trial)

  • 선박의 해상 시운전 중 속도성능시험은 선박의 속도를 입증하기 위한 중요한 시험항목 중 하나이다. 국제표준화기구에서는 2015년 시운전 속도성능시험에 관한 표준 가이드라인을 제정한 바 있다. 일반적인 해상상태에서는 바람과 파도등 환경적 외란의 영향이 언제나 존재하므로, 정확한 전달동력을 추정하기란 불가능 하다. 또한 외란의 영향으로 최근 개발되고 있는 에너지 절감장치의 개선효과를 정확히 평가하는 것도 쉽지 않다. 본 연구에서는 몬테카를로 시뮬레이션을 이용하여 공기윤활시스템을 장착한 선박의 동력 절감량에 관한 불확실성 해석을 수행하였다. 그 결과 공기윤활시스템 가동으로 3.2%의 동력이 절감되었으며, 절감된 동력의 확장불확도는 95% 신뢰수준 (k = 2)에서 약 ± 2.7 % 범위를 갖는 것으로 나타났다.

  • To correctly estimate ice load and ice resistance for a ship's hull, it is essential to understand the material properties of sea ice during ice field trials and to use the proper experimental procedure for gathering ice strength data. The first Korean-made icebreaking research vessel (IBRV), ARAON, had her second sea ice trial in the Arctic Ocean during July and August of 2010. This paper describes the test procedures used to properly obtain sea ice strength data, which provides the basic information on the ship's performance in an ice-covered sea and can be used to estimate the correct ice load and ice resistance on the IBRV ARAON. The data gathered from three sea ice field trials during the Arctic voyage of the ARAON includes the ice compressive strength, flexural strength, and failure strain of sea ice. This paper analyzes the gathered sea ice data in comparison with data from the first voyage of the ARAON during her Antarctic Sea ice trial in January 2010.

  • This paper deals with the sea trial results of a fast craft with the hybrid supported type hul form. waterjet propulsion system and motion control system. The hybrid-type container ship operable in the sea with a wave height of y6 m, a speed of 50 knots and a payload of 1,500 tons were designed. A 1/8 scale 10 m- long test craft was constructed and tested in open seas. The hydrodynamic performance such as speed, turning, motion control in waves and waterjet thrush was analyzed.

수중함 소나 수신성능 향상을 위한 음향창 접착제 배합비 개선 (A Study on the Improvement of Adhesive Mixing Ratio about Acoustic Window for Enhancing SONAR Performance of Submarine)

  • This study suggest the improvement of the CFRP adhesive mixing ratio about acoustic window to enhance SONAR performance. The CFRP of submarine is produced by allocation an acoustic window zone by the beam width of SONAR sensors. During the sea trial, SONAR system's bearing and range accuracy data is not in tolerance due to debonding phenomenon on CFRP. The inappropriate mixing ratio of adhesives caused that peeling phenomenon occurred in the acoustic window part, which is the reason for the deterioration of SONAR sensors performance. The report includes explanation of test procedure of SONAR, root cause analysis, CFRP manufacturing procedure, laboratory tests results, and proof of the performance at the sea trial.

빅데이터 기반 함정 시운전 종목명 분석 (Analysis of Sea Trial's Title for Naval Ships Based on Big Data)

  • 본 연구에서는 효율적인 함정 시운전을 위하여 빅데이터 기법인 워드 클라우드를 활용하여 한미 해군의 시운전 목적과 주안점을 다각적으로 파악하여 다음과 같은 결과를 도출하였다. 첫째, 한미 해군 시운전 종목을 키워드 클렌징을 통해 추출된 단어를 비교한 결과 한국 해군은 시운전을 단일 장비에 대한 시험의 개념으로 수행하며, 미 해군은 시스템에 초점을 둔 통합 시운전을 진행한다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 한미 해군 시운전 연관도 분석 결과 약 66.6%가 유사한 항목으로 분석되었으며, 그중 2종목 이상 중복된 종목이 112종목이었다. 한국 해군 시운전 종목 252종목 대비 44%가 중복된 종목으로 미 해군 시운전 종목으로 통합시 89종목(전체 35%)이 축소 가능하다고 분석되었다. 함정은 여러 장비가 동시 다발적으로 작동하는 복합 시스템이다. 현재 한국 해군 시운전과 같이 개별 장비의 기능, 성능 확인에 중점을 두고 수행하는 것은 시운전 대상이 지나치게 많아져 시운전 기간이 증가하게 된다. 또한, 그로 인한 일정 및 평가비용 증가로 필요한 예산이 필연적으로 증가한다. 향후 미 해군의 시운전과 같이 통합 시스템적인 평가를 통한 효율적이면서 정확한 시운전을 위하여 추가적인 연구가 필요하다고 판단된다.

Development of Solution for Safety and Optimal Weather Routing of a Ship

  • When a ship sails on sea, it may be influenced by the environmental disturbance such as wind, wave, sea surface temperature, etc. These affect on the ship's speed, fuel consumption, safety and operating performance. It is necessary to find the optimal weather route of a ship to avoid adverse weather conditions which can put the crews in serious danger or cause structural damage to the vessel, machinery, and equipment. This study introduced how to apply A* algorithm based on sea trial test data for determining the optimal ship routes. The path cost function was modelled as a function of minimum arrival time or minimum energy depending on the time of various environment conditions. The specially modelled path-cost function and the safety constraints were applied to the A* algorithm in order to find the optimal path of the ship. The comparison of ship performances estimated by real sea trial's path and estimated optimal route during the voyage of the ship was investigated. The result of this study can be used to create a schedule to ensure safe operation of the ship with short passage time or minimum energy. In addition, the result of this study can be integrated into an on-board decision supporting expert system and displayed in Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS) to provide all the useful information to ship master.
