  • ECDIS, highlihgted as a new technology for the navigation safety, could replace the paper charts in the bridge and make the more safe navigation possible. For the marines to use the ECDIS, the infrastructrue of the ENC production and distribution, the development of IMO compliant ECDIS, the training program for the ECDIS usage and related matters are thought as the key points to be solved. Also it is necessary for the ECDIS usage and related maters are thought as the key point to be solved. Also it is necessary for the related groups, such as ECDIS manufactures, users, ENC producers, the to be involved in developing the national infrastructure altogether to promote the ECDIS usage. Upon these background, the Korean ENC pilot project was introduced and the comparison study of the SHARED project coordinated by MPA(Maritime Port Authority, Singapore) and the Canadan Pilot project has been done. With such a analysis, the Korean ENC sea trial test plan is presented.

Oyster reef에서 black sea bass, Centropristis striata 치어의 행동 (Behavior of Juvenile Black Sea Bass, Centropristis striata (Linnaeus) on Oyster Reefs)

  • black sea bass 치어(이하 치어라 칭함)의 기질 선택성을 수조 내부의 바닥을 굴 껍질 관련 기질과 모래 기질을 덮어 이등분 한 원형수조(1.5 m 직경${\times}$0.4 m 깊이)에서 조사하였다. 실험어는 1개체를 수조에 넣는 단독수용과 5개체를 넣는 그룹으로 하였다. 모든 치어의 기질 선택행동 실험은 20분간 비디오에 녹화하여 모니터 상에서 관찰하였고 수조 내에서 치어의 위치와 각 기질에서 체류한 시간을 기록하였다. 굴 껍질 관련 기질에서 치어가 보낸 평균시간은 1개체 수용구에서 $18.1{\pm}2.0$분과 5개체 수용구에서 $17.5{\pm}1.7$분으로 나타났다. 한편, 모래기질 위에서는 1개체 수용구에서 $2.0{\pm}1.0$분과 5개체 수용구에서 $2.5{\pm}1.7$분으로 나타났다. 1개체와 5개체의 치어로 수행한 실험 모두에서 모래 기질보다는 굴 껍질 관련 기질에 대해 유의한 선택성을 나타냈다(paired t-test, P<0.05). 굴 껍질 관련 기질 아래 체제시간은 1개체 수용구에서 $16.6{\pm}2.0$분과 5개체 수용구에서 $10.7{\pm}2.3$분으로 나타났다. 굴 껍질 관련 기질 사이를 이동한 횟수는 1개체 수용구에서 $1.1{\pm}1.0$회와 5개체 수용구에서 $11.5{\pm}3.1$회로 나타났다. 치어는 1개체 수용구보다는 5개체 수용구에서 굴 껍질 관련 기질 아래 머무는 시간이 유의하게 적고, 또한 움직임이 많은 것으로 나타났다(paired t-test, P<0.05). 은신처 확보를 위한 치열한 경쟁으로 인해 5개체 수용구의 치어가 굴 껍질 관련 기질 아래 머무는 시간이 적고 움직임이 많은 것으로 추측된다.

시스템 검증법에 의한 조종성능(操縱性能) 해석(解析) (Maneuverability Analysis of a Ship by System Identification Technique)

  • When the hydrodynamic coefficients of the ship maneuvering equation are estimated by captive model test, it is difficult to take account of the scale effect between model and full scale ship. This scale effect problem can be overcome by processing the sea trial data with system identification. Extended Kalman filter is used as a system identification technique for the modification of the simulation equation as well as the estimation of hydrodynamic coefficients The phenomena of simultaneous drifting of linear coefficients occur. It is confirmed that two coefficients in each pair-$(Y_v',\;Y_r'-m'u'),\;(N_v',\;N_r')$-are simultaneously drifting and all 4 coefficients are drifting together. Particularly simultaneous drifting and 2 coefficients in each pair is more significant. It is also shown that the simultaneous drifting of 4 coefficients can be reduced by choosing the input data which have the random v'/r' curve and 4 coefficients are estimated within $2{\sim}4%$ error, which may be noise level. So, it is recommended to operate the rudder randomly in sea trial or model test for the application of system identification technique.

스텝 붙이 활주형 모터보트 선미부가물의 횡요저감효과에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Anti-rolling Effect of Stem Sub-body in the Stepped-Hull Planing Boat)

  • It is hard to find experimental data for a model test of small high-speed planning boats. It is difficult to verify the performance seen in a model test for a high-speed boat because the ship-model scale-ratio is very small and the flow velocity of the circulating water channel and the X-carriage speed of the towing tank are restricted. Therefore most hull-form designs for high-speed small boats depend on the sea-trial test result for similar boats or evaluation through numerical calculations. This study investigated the anti-rolling effect of the stern sub-body in a 50-knot doss planning boat. To carry out this work, new model test procedures were set up in the actual sea. Using this method, the anti-rolling effect of the stern sub-body was investigated. A stern sub-body attached to a planning boat was proved to be effective in reducing the roll and pitch angle.

  • 본 연구는 '해양폐기물 수거선박 요구조건 및 선단구성[1]'의 후속연구로서, 주로 서해안 그리고 남해안 일부를 대상으로 하는 천수용 다기능 해양폐기물 수거시스템의 초기 개념설계 결과에 대하여 논한다. 일일 수거 목표량을 포함하는 수거 시스템의 임무를 도출하고, 요구조건에 부합되는 초기 개념설계, 일반배치를 수행하였다. 또한, 구성된 수거 시스템의 타당성 검토를 위하여 복원성 검토, 컴퓨터 그래픽 시뮬레이션 작업을 수행하였다. 마지막으로, 전남여수항 실해역에서 시스템 검증실험을 수행하였으며, 결과로서 개발된 시스템의 효용성, 타당성이 입증되었다.

선미관 밀봉장치 개발에 관한 연구 (I) - 맆 시일을 중심으로- (A Study on the Development of Ship's Stern Tube Sealing System(I) -Based on Lip Seals-)

  • Lip type stern tube sealing systems have used in almost all the middle or large ships which are being constructed in these days. It seems that the pressure fluctuation of the seal ring interspace, the cross-section profile and the materials quality of the seal rings have great effects on the sealing fuction of this sealing system. In this paper, the mechanical movement of lip seal ring which plays the most important role in stern tube sealing system and the possibility of leakage caused by pressure fluctuation are studied by theory and experiment. Using the finite element method for the axi-symetric object which receives the torsional load, the displacement and stress analysis of the seal rings, and also the possibility of crack occurance is checked by theoretical analysis. If the force which seal ring lip periphery receives is too small, there will be the possibility of leakage caused by the pressure fluctuation of the seal ring interspace, and if this force is too large, the frictional force between the seal ring and the liner will become problematical. The possibility of leakage caused by hardening of seal ring materials and creep phenomena of tested seal rings are also examined. The trial seal rings were designed and manufactured using the program of displacement and stress analysis developed in this study and the experimental apparatus to test the trial seal rings was also designed and manufactured. This trial seal rings were fitted in the experimental apparatus which was made in the same form as an actual stern tube. The one side of this apparatus was filled with sea water and the other side of it was filled with the lubricating oil. The leakage of oil and sea water was checked and the temperature was measured, rotating the propeller shaft at the constant velocity by D.C. motor. It was proved that the trial seal rings made in Viton rubber functioned excellenty but the trial seal rings made in N.B.R. rubber had problem in its durability.

  • This paper presents the analysis of the speed-power performance in the real sea using a large container vessel data provided as a test bed from a shipping company. To perform a speed trial of the vessel during a commercial voyage, the on-board measuring device and various operation data acquisition systems were mounted on the vessel for long-term performance monitoring and the voyage operated under the container loading condition close to the design draft was adopted. The content of this paper consists of Part I and Part II. Part I, such as this paper, contains the speed trial method and analysis results of the operating vessel. Part II contains the analysis of the speed-power characteristics change over time and before and after hull cleaning using operation data measured from the voyage operated under a condition similar to the speed trial.

팽창식 튜브를 부착한 6m급 스포츠 보트 개발에 관한 연구 (The study on the development of 6m class sports RIB)

  • The 6m class high speed boat is developed with a durable hull and inflatable tube, which is called RIB(Rigid Inflatable Boat), for the purpose of marine leisure. In the stage of the conceptual design, its requirements to be optimized are determined based on the presented information of similar marine leisure RIBs. The 3-D graphical technique using Marine Rhino is utilized to optimize the compartment layout of RIB. The stability analysis is performed for the light and full load conditions with and without the inflatable tube. In addition, the sea keeping and hydrodynamic performance was tested using the proto-type ship in the sea condition. From the results of the computation and the sea trial test, it shows that the performance of the marine leisure RIB satisfies the speed, the convenience, and the stability requirements. This study provides the typical information of the design factors and the procedure to manufacture the marine leisure RIB.

케이블-수중 예인체 시스템의 3차원 비선형 완전 연성해석 (3D Nonlinear Fully Coupled Simulation of Cable and Tow-fish System)

  • In this paper, a strongly coupled method for investigating the interaction between a cable and tow-fish is presented. The nodal position finite element method was utilized to analyze the nonlinear cable dynamics, and 6DOF equations of motion were employed to describe the 3D rigid body motion of the tow-fish. Combining cable and tow-fish systems into a single formulation allowed the two nonlinear systems to be strongly coupled into a unified nonlinear system. This strongly coupled system was numerically integrated in the time domain using a predictor/multi-corrector Newmark algorithm. To demonstrate the validity, efficacy, and applicability of the current approach, two different scenarios (virtual and sea trial) were simulated, and the simulation results were validated using the physical plausibility and the sea trial test.

수중운동체 방사소음의 로이드 미러 효과 연구 (A study on the Lloyd's mirror effect on the underwater radiated noise for the underwater vehicle)

  • 수중운동체의 수중방사소음을 측정하기 위해서는 수중음향 최근접점 거리의 계산과 해표면 반사 등에 의한 음향간섭이 음향준위에 미치는 영향이 고려되어야 한다. 그러므로 본 논문에서는 해표면 반사에 의한 음향간섭으로 발생하는 로이드 미러 효과가 수중운동체의 수중방사소음 측정 결과에 미치는 영향을 분석하고자 하였다. 수중운동체의 수중방사소음 측정결과에 로이드 미러 효과에 의한 주파수스펙트럼 레벨의 변동이 나타나는 것을 확인하였고, 이론식으로부터 예측한 로이드 미러 패턴이 측정결과와 일치됨을 확인할 수 있었다. 확인된 로이드 미러 패턴으로부터 수중운동체의 최근접점거리를 추정하였으며, 표면 간섭으로 나타나는 로이드 미러 효과가 수중운동체의 수중방사소음 준위 분석에 영향을 미치는 것을 확인하였다.
