  • In the simulation of underwater vehicles such as a submarine or a torpedo, various type of simulations like an engineering level simulation for predicting the performance precisely and an engagement level simulation for examining the effectiveness of a certain tactic is required. For this reason, a tactics manager which can change the behavior of a simulation model according to external tactics is needed. In this study the tactics manager supporting a script language and engine which can represent various tactics and can help users define external input tactics for the tactic manager easily is suggested. Python and Lua which are representative among script languages have been compared and analyzed from the viewpoint of a tactic manage, and the tactic manger using the script engines of those script languages was implemented. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the tactic manager, a target motion analysis simulation of the warfare between a submarine and a surface ship.

  • Emotion plays a key role in both generating and understanding narrative. In this article we analyzed the emotions represented in a movie script based on 8 emotion types from the wheel of emotions by Plutchik. First we conducted manual emotion tagging scene by scene. The most dominant emotions by manual tagging were anger, fear, and surprise. It makes sense when the film script we analyzed is a thriller-genre. We assumed that the emotions around the climax of the story would be heightened as the tension grew up. From manual tagging we could identify three such duration when the tension is high. Next we analyzed the emotions in the same script using Python-based NLTK VADERSentiment tool. The result showed that the emotions of anger and fear were most matched. The emotion of surprise, anticipation, and disgust, however, scored lower matching.

  • One of the elements of technology that has become extremely critical within the field of education today is Deep learning. It has been especially used in the area of natural language processing, with some word-representation vectors playing a critical role. However, some of the low-resource languages, such as Swahili, which is spoken in East and Central Africa, do not fall into this category. Natural Language Processing is a field of artificial intelligence where systems and computational algorithms are built that can automatically understand, analyze, manipulate, and potentially generate human language. After coming to discover that some African languages fail to have a proper representation within language processing, even going so far as to describe them as lower resource languages because of inadequate data for NLP, we decided to study the Swahili language. As it stands currently, language modeling using neural networks requires adequate data to guarantee quality word representation, which is important for natural language processing (NLP) tasks. Most African languages have no data for such processing. The main aim of this project is to recognize and focus on the classification of words in English, Swahili, and Korean with a particular emphasis on the low-resource Swahili language. Finally, we are going to create our own dataset and reprocess the data using Python Script, formulate the syllabic alphabet, and finally develop an English, Swahili, and Korean word analogy dataset.

  • A multi-story can be generated by the interactions of users in the interactive storytelling system. In this paper, I suggest narrative structure and corresponding Storytelling Markup Language and implement the system that processes a story presented using this language. This research will be basis of making an authoring tool for interactive storytelling. It can be used to make a story tool and story presentation tool using text, image, animation with user interaction.

  • This paper proposes a method of simplification for robot simulation creation using functional concise script. General robotics simulation authoring tools require professional knowledge regarding development language and their APIs, and these prerequisites are considered as a big obstacle in implementing robotics simulation. In order to resolve these problems, we developed an authoring tool using functional concise script in building simulation environment, and this concise script composes of simplified service commands and minimum options. In experiment, we educated students and teachers in High school to use this authoring tool and we verified that the proposed method makes it possible to build robotics simulation environment and control simulated robots through one-day training course for the novices.

  • Nowadays, in islands where electricity should be provided autonomously, stand-alone microgrid technologies using renewable energy such as sunlight generation and wind power generation come into wide use. The microgrid electricity generation using renewable energy is greatly affected by the natural environment of a site. In order to maintain stable electricity supply for fluctuating electricity generation due to natural environment, the energy management via EMS is positively necessary. In existing stand-alone microgrid EMS, system operation logic is not changeable flexibly because compiled or builded codes are released into the EMS of a site, respectively. In this paper, we designed a flexible operating script-based microgrid EMS Framework for various sites and applied it to some island sites. We could confirm its usability.

  • The existing game development way is adopting a direct engine design way. It was hard to learn game development, but it can learn the process that uses a script an abstraction. And it improves productivity and convenience anger because modeling does not do an engine directly and reduce a development cost and can solve a problem of a development human power security. The representative characteristic of this paper was able to change a development environment into an abstract script language with modeling having done an engine in the existing game development environment directly.

  • Recently, the magnitude of electronic data interchange (EDI) document processing for the handling of port logistics is abruptly being increased. The existing system processes EDI documents in a script mode, but due to a complicated script preparation procedure and low document processing efficiency, it cannot meet the demand as the usage flow of documents increases. In this paper, an EDI electronic document processing system was designed and implemented in a document scanner and mapper, which are binary form electronic document processing tools and do not require script files during the conversion of extensible markup language (XML)-based electronic documents. This new system has the merits of XML features during reading and writing with improved speed, usage convenience, and good portability on systems when compared to the conventional ones.

  • This paper introduces the case study of constructing a quest engine system in a commercial online game. The system can help several operations for quests such as modeling and execution with a dedicated script language. Since the many attributes of a quest, including the type or preconditions or execution ordering of quests, could be represented well with the script, game developers can constitute and modify a quest system very easily. Thus it is expected that the quest system introduced in this paper can be a good guideline to the developers of online RPG games.
