논클로그 및 스크류식 원심펌프의 임펠러 형상이 펌프성능에 미치는 영향 (Effects of the Impeller Shapes on the Non-Clogging and the Screw-type Centrifugal Pump Performances)

  • In this study, the effects of the impeller shapes on the pump performances of the non-clogging and the screw-type centrifugal pumps are experimentally studied. The characteristics of total head, efficiency and power of the non-clogging pump increase as the number of vanes increases. The screw-type centrifugal pump with the linear-shape vane shows a little better performance than that of the screw-type centrifugal pump with the curved-shape vane. The differences in the characteristics of total head, efficiency and power are, however, insignificant. Therefore, it is advisable that, considering the convenience of pump manufacturing, the screw-type centrifugal pump with the linear-shape vane should be used. This study also compares the pump characteristics of the non-clogging pump and screw-type centrifugal pump. The characteristics of total head and efficiency of the non-clogging pump are better than those of the screw-type centrifugal pump. The screw-type centrifugal pump requires more shaft power than the non-clogging pump.

소형 스크류식 원심펌프의 기액 이상류 특성 (Characteristics of a Small Screw-type Centrifugal Pump Operating in Air-Water Two-Phase Flow)

  • A screw-type centrifugal pump was manufactured to carry primarily solids and its impeller had a wide flow passage. However, there was an effect on the flow passage shape on delay of the choke due to entrained air not being clarified yet. Moreover, because its impeller has a particular shape, only few studies have tried to clarify the pump performance and details of internal flow pattern of that pump. For this reason, we carried out the pump performance experiment under air-water two-phase flow condition with different impeller tip clearances, pump rotational speeds and void fractions by using a small screw-type centrifugal pump designed to acquire basic data. In a general centrifugal pump, it was reported that there was a loss of pump head from single-phase flow to the choke due to air entrainment near the best efficiency point being large. However, the loss near the best efficient point in a screw-type centrifugal pump became less than that in a general centrifugal pump.

However, despite their widespread use, complex unsteady flow characteristics of industrial agitators are not systematically investigated. The present study alms for clarify unsteady flow characteristics induced by various impellers in a tank. Impellers are pitched blade turbine(PBT) types, Screw type and Rushton turbine type. In this study flow characteristics of the impeller using CFD. The rotating speed of impellers fixed about 100RPM. These three types of Impeller show that typical flow characteristics of axial turbine and suitable for mixing powder

However, despite their widespread use, complex unsteady flow characteristics of industrial mixers are not systematically investigated. The present study aims for clarify unsteady flow characteristics induced by various impellers in agitator's tank. Impellers are Pitched blade turbine(PBT) types, Screw type and Rushton turbine type(RUT). In this study is numerical analysis of the Industrial agitator's Impeller types. The rotating speed of impellers fixed about 100RPM. Numerical analysis results show that differential flow characteristics of each type Impeller and Rushton turbine type(RUT) is suitable for mixing powder.

  • Propeller type pump has been widely used for pumping water in agricultural and manufacturing industry. Since a propeller type pump contains a screw impeller inside a circular casing, the numerical analysis becomes complex. However, the accurate prediction of viscous flow is essential for computing hydrodynamic performances. To analysis the flow and the performance of the propeller type pump, the present work has solved 3D incompressible RANS equations on the multiblocked grid. From the present calculation, small amount of flow separation was shown near hub and the flow was recovered to nearly uniform inflow after one diameter downstream. Torque and thrust coefficient were computed and compared with experiments.

  • 본 연구는 고점도 유체의 혼합을 위한 교반기 설계의 기초연구로서 스크류 형상의 임펠러(또는 헬리컬 임펠러)를 가지는 교반기 내의 유동과 이에 따른 유체혼합 특성을 수치해석을 통해 가시화한 것이다. 이와 더불어 양호한 혼합효과를 가져다 줄 것으로 예상되는 엇갈림형 스크류 임펠러의 모델을 제안하였다. 수치해석상의 유체는 고점도의 Newton유체로 가정하였으며 임펠러의 회전속도는 6[rpm]으로 아주 작게 하여 저 레이놀즈수(약 Re=3)에서 혼합효과를 연구하였다. 또한 각종 설계 파라미터를 변화시켜 혼합 양상의 차이를 분석하여 설계에 반영하고자 하였다.

  • Resident time of the continuous and Instantaneous centrifugal separator using that separates the light and heavy liquids by use of density difference is the orptical factor that affects significantly the chemical metial extraction and the productivity in the chemical and mechanical process. In this paper, the overflow of the device is investigated under consideration of the relationships between inclination angle of liquid feeding screw and the centrifugal force. From the design of the length of a centrifugal separator, the radiuses of rotor and housing, theoretical formulation on the contact radius of separation weir is established through the experiments. From the experiments, it is identified that how much the capacity of inlet impeller and the emulsion phenomenon depend on the screw angle of inlet impeller. Also, we investigate the separation condition and the resident times that are functions of the phase ratio and density.
