Design and Implementation of Digital Photo Kiosk System with Auto Color Correction Module (자동 컬러 보정 모듈을 가진 디지털 포토 키오스크 시스템의 설계 및 구현)

  • This paper introduces design and implementation of digital photo kiosk system, digital photo printing system, with auto color correction module that considers gamut between touch screen and output device, digital photo printer, to provide user-preferred media. This module performs media correction function to service high quality contents for image captured by digital camera and mobile phone camera. Since it is implemented as LUT for real-time processing, the system offers one-touch interface to user. As a result of implementation, this kiosk system provides user-favorite photo because of black and white mode, sepia mode, and brightness and contrast adjustment. Also it can gives smooth tone transition and photos of similar color to captured image due to auto color correction module.

Consumers Vigorous Complaining Behaviors in the Internet Web Site Explained By Integrating Theory of Planned Behavior and Anger (인터넷 웹사이트에서 소비자의 적극적 불평행동에 관한 연구: 감정이론과 계획행동이론을 중심으로)

  • The present research integrates the core aspects of anger with the theory of planned behavior to investigate factors influencing online activism in a Web site. This study conducted online survey, and the sample was members who joined the V4400 Sobi-ja-heem Web site. The Web site Sobi-ja-heem was initiated by a consumer who was irritated at the cell phone manufacturer Samsung Inc. because its model, "Anycall" had major product defects such as the malfunction of the camcorder, poor tone quality, fuzziness of the screen, and broken text messages. The findings suggests that adding anger in Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) enhances the explanatory power of the theory in predicting an intention to participate in activities to correct the issue, which indicates the possibility of combining emotion and the TPB in the prediction of online activism.

A Study of the Color Characteristics of the Websites of Sportswear Brands' (스포츠웨어 브랜드의 웹사이트 색채 특성 분석)

  • With increases in the amount of spare time by many and with increased social interest in health, the sportswear market is steadily growing. Thus, sportswear companies are putting more effort into developing their websites for differentiation strategies. It is possible to deliver effective images with the use of proper colors in websites. This study aimed to analyze the colors of websites of sportswear brands' and to compare their characteristics. Thirty-seven brands were chosen and classified into three groups: active sportswear, outdoor wear and golf wear. 168 color samples in total as main colors, sub-colors and accent colors were collected from the first screen of each websites. The colors were analyzed by Musell's 10 hues and by the 12 tone classifications of PCCS. The results indicated that white is the color most often used as the main color and sub-color on these websites. There were differences among the colors of the three groups. Both active sportswear and outdoor wear have a similar tendency in terms of their use of colors and tones, while golf wear is different from these two groups. Active sportswear websites and outdoor wear websites frequently used red and vivid, bright tones for their accent colors. In comparison, Green Yellow and light grayish tones were most commonly used as accent colors in golf wear websites.

Effects of a Notebook Computer Supporter on Biomechanical Characteristics in Wrist Joint Muscles of Healthy Young Adults (노트북 거치대가 건강한 젊은 성인 손목관절근육의 생체역학적 특징에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose: As laptop use increases throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and its use outside of traditional workstations proliferates, it is imperative to expand the limited research available regarding ergonomic exposure. This study aimed to identify the effects of a laptop supporter on biomechanical characteristics in the wrist joint muscles of healthy young adults. Methods: This was a cross-sectional observational study design with thirty-four healthy young adults as participants. They conducted a typing exercise performed under two different conditions, which were with and without a notebook computer supporter. This study measured the biomechanical characteristics of the muscles of the wrist joints including the flexor carpi ulnaris (FCU), the flexor carpi radialis (FCR), the extensor carpi radialis longus (ECRL), and the extensor carpi ulnaris (ECU). Measurements were taken three times: before typing, immediately after typing for 30 minutes with a supporter, and immediately after typing for 30 minutes without a supporter. The statistical method to compare the three different measurement conditions was the repeated measures ANOVA. Results: The participants showed significantly different levels of dynamic stiffness in both the FCU before typing and immediately after 30 minutes of typing with a supporter, and showed significantly different levels of dynamic stiffness in the FCR before typing and immediately after 30 minutes of typing with a supporter. The dynamic stiffness level immediately after 30 minutes of typing without a supporter was significantly different than that immediately after 30 minutes of typing with a supporter. However, the muscle tone was not significantly different among the three different conditions. Conclusion: The results of this study revealed that a laptop supporter used to correct the eye level of the electronic screen increases the dynamic stiffness of the wrist joint flexors, so it is necessary to consider the neutral position of the wrist joint during typing.

A Study of Sound Expression in Webtoon (웹툰의 사운드 표현에 관한 연구)

  • Webtoon has developed the method that makes it possible to express sound visually. Also we can also hear sound in webtoon through the development of web technology. It is natural that we analyze the sound that we can hear, but we can also analyze the sound that we can not hear. This study is based on 'dual code' in cognitive psychology. Cartoonists can make visual expression on the basis of auditive impression and memory, and readers can recall the sound through the process of memory and memory-retrieval. This study analyzes both audible sound and inaudable sound. Concise analysis owes the method to film sound theory. Three main factor, Volume, pitch, and tone are recognized by frequency in acoustics. On the other hand they are expressed by the thickness and site of line and image of sound source. The visual expression of in screen sound and off screen sound is related to the frame of comics. Generally the outside of frame means off sound, but some off sound is in the frame. In addition, horror comics use much sound for the effect of genre like horror film. When analyzing comics sound using this kinds of the method film sound analysis, we can find that webtoon has developed creative expression method comparing with simple ones of early comics. Especially arranging frames and expressing sound following and vertical moving are new ones in webtoon. Also types and arrangement of frame has been varied. BGM is the first in using audible sound and recently BGM composed mixing sound effect is being used. In addition, the program which makes it possible for readers to hear sound according to scroll moving. Especially horror genre raise the genre effects using this technology. Various methods of visualizing sound are being created, and the change shows that webtoon could be the model of convergence in contents.

A Study for Visual Style for Feature Animation - A Case of Feature Animation - (극장 판 장편 애니메이션의 시각적 스타일에 관한 연구 -장편애니메이션 'Life is Cool'의 제작사례를 중심으로-)

  • The ways of expression are infinite to make animated film. When we compare to live action film, that fact is the actual power that animation only has and is one of the big weapons to appeal to the audience. Nonetheless, techniques to be chosen are monolithic like drawing, 3D computer, and clay when animation maker makes feature animation to screen in movie theatre. It's probably because feature animation must have popularity of visual style and they need to standardize technique about side of making. But popularity in expression does not mean monolithic visual style and making technique. It should be understood about side of artistic value to fascinate public audience. Audience is always eager for new subject, new directing style and new visual style. Monotonous and boring animation cannot but turn away from the audience. So if production does not have artistic value, we cannot expect commercial value and success also even it plans and makes for the feature animation. To create new visual style fnr animation is not only limited to artwork itself but also creation, which is included story and tone of the film and acting style about character. Also making process must be calculated and experimented to actualize that visual style about side of making.
