We compared and analyzed the changes in students' science grades and their effects on science grades by level (upper, middle, and lower) according to non-face-to-face and face-to-face teaching-learning. 66 students from A Middle School in Gyeongsangnam-do were selected for the study. As a result of analyzing the change in science grades according to the teaching-learning type, the average score of science grades by non-face-to-face teaching-learning was lower than the corresponding score of science grades of face-to-face teaching-learning. As a result of comparing the level of understanding of learning content according to the evaluation type (paper-written, study-paper) in non-face-to-face and face-to-face teaching-learning, the average scores of science grades by paper-written and study-paper evaluations in non-face-to-face teaching-learning were significantly low. In addition, as a result of comparing the effect on science grades by level according to the teaching-learning type, the average score of science grades of lower-ranked students in non-face-to-face teaching-learning was relatively low.
The purpose of this study was to survey and diagnostic the self-related health cognition, stress, culture life and health-related fitness for residents of rural area. For this study, Total 126 people answered by a written questionnaire and took part in health-related fitness test for old adults in rural area. According to the normal distribution, the indexes were divided into five grades(very poor 5, poor 4, average 3, good 2, very good 1). The self-related health cognition(SF-36) was third grades. The index was as same as average old adults in rural area. The old adults stress level was third grades. The degrees of stress were as same as average old adults in rural area. The participation in the culture life was fourth grades. The health-related fitness test were third-fifth grades. The results of this experiment could be functioned as a very important fundamental source in order to establish satisfying health system, social welfare for the old people in rural area. Taken together, it seemed that self-related health cognition, stress level, participation in the culture life and health-related fitness have to be considered and improved. The indexes should be further investigated and some practical method should be developed for the olded people in rural area.

Purpose: This study was done to examine relationships between nurse staffing level and postsurgical patient outcomes using inpatient database from the National Health Insurance. Methods: Records of 111,491 patients who received one of 12 types of surgery between January and December, 2009 were identified and analyzed in this study. Nurse staffing level was measured using adjusted nurse staffing grades from 0 to 7. Patient outcomes were defined as in-hospital mortality, or pneumonia, sepsis, or urinary tract infection after surgery. Logistic regression analyses estimated by Generalized Estimation Model, were used to analyze the association between nurse staffing level and patient outcomes. Results: An inverse relationship was found between nurse staffing and patient mortality. Compared with patients who were cared for in hospitals with the highest nurse staffing (Grades 0-1), increases in the odds of dying were found in those with Grades 6-7 [OR (odds ratio)=2.99, 95% CI (confidence interval)=1.94-4.60], those with Grades 4-5 (OR=1.78, 95% CI=1.24-2.57) and those with Grades 2-3 (OR=1.57, 95% CI=1.25-1.98). Lower nurse staffing level was also associated with higher number of cases in pneumonia and sepsis. Conclusion: Policies for providing adequate nurse staffing is required to enhance quality of care and lead to better perioperative patient outcomes.

We analyzed and compared factors such as changes in the degree of difficulty of concepts presented in Chemistry I textbook, changes in class types (non-face-to-face, face-to-face), etc. on academic achievement by level (upper, middle, and lower). Students from A high school in Gyeongsangnam-do were selected for the subjects of the study. As a result of analyzing the change in the degree of difficulty of concepts, the total score of chemistry I combined by non-face-to-face and face-to-face classes during the second semester was lower than that of the first semester. As a result of analyzing the impact of factors such as changes in conceptual difficulty, changes in class types, etc. on academic achievement by level, students' grades at the 'lower level' by non-face-to-face classes were lower than those by face-to-face classes. In particular, at the lower level of the second semester, there was a large difference in grades between non-face-to-face and face-to-face classes. In the results of these studies, it was found that instructors' active feedback is important to identify difficulties in understanding learning contents for students with low levels of academic achievement and improve them at the same time.
Feeding preference of cigarette beetle, Lasioderma sewicorne F., on cured tobacco leaves was investigated to obtain basic information on ecological management of the insect pest in tobacco storage warehouses. About 3, 000-4, 000 adults of the insect were released in a warehouse in which groud tobacco leaves were placed on the bottom and at 3m above the floor level, and numbers of insects attracted were examined. There was no significant difference on feeding preference between the two tobacco varieties, flue-cured(NC82) and air-cured(Br3l) tobacco leaves. However, significant differences were noted in feeding preference between thick and thin leaves and among different quality grades within a tobacco variety. Feeding preferences of cigarette beetle between flue- and air- cured tobacco varieties showed significant differences on the lower position, though there were no differences on the 3m upper position. On the 3m upper position, feeding preferences were different between thick and thin leaves of tobacco varieties, and variety X thickness and variety X thickness equality grades showed statistically significant differences. Significantly higher feeding preference by cigarette beetle adults was observed for the food placed on the 3m upper than on the lower position. There were negative correlations between quality grades of cured tobacco leaves and feeding preference on the lower position, and the regression equation was Y(feeding preference)=4.050-0.683 X (degree).

We studied the effects on their academic achievement of chemistry II and advanced chemistry subjects of science high school students according to the type of class (face-to-face and non-face-to-face). The subjects of this study were 195 first-year students of G Science High School located in Gyeongnam. The average scores of Chemistry II and Advanced Chemistry in non-face-to-face classes in 2020 and face-to-face classes in 2021 were compared and analyzed. As a result of comparing and analyzing the academic achievement according to the class type, students' grades in Chemistry II and Advanced Chemistry were higher in non-face-to-face classes. In the comparison of academic achievement by level according to class type, Chemistry II showed higher average grades in non-face-to-face classes as the lower level were, and in advanced chemistry, the higher the upper grades in non-face-to-face classes. In addition, in terms of the effect of changes in class form on the upper and lower 10% levels of academic achievement of Chemistry II, the upper 10% showed high grades in face-to-face classes and the lower 10% in non-face-to-face classes. On the other hand, in advanced chemistry, the average grade of non-face-to-face classes was higher than that of face-to-face classes in the top 10%, and the average grade of face-to-face classes was higher than that of non-face-to-face classes in the bottom 10%. Through these results, it was found that in the teaching-learning of science high school students, instructors need to design and treat teaching-learning appropriate to the level of academic achievement.

The purpose of this study is find out the correlation of level of knowledge of pre-service elementary teacher with space perception ability on 'Earth and Space' of elementary science. During the second semester of 2013, for 15 weeks, the classes were conducted for 3 hours per week and we find out knowledge Understanding degree and select terms offered by 5th grade science courses 'The solar system and the stars', 'Earth and Moon', 'change of seasons' section and measured space perception ability degree of pre-service elementary school teacher with a questionnaire. We analyzed the correlation of understanding level of knowledge in the field of astronomy of pre-service elementary school teacher with space perception ability. The results of the study are presented as follows. First, pre-service elementary school teacher showed a low level of knowledge understanding as it goes the upper grades about upper concept in 'The solar system and the stars', 'Earth and Moon', 'change of seasons' section' of astronomy area of elementary science 'Earth and space sector'. The pre-service elementary school teachers needs to acquire knowledge of astronomy area in elementary school curriculum. Second, pre-service elementary school teacher showed that there are differences individually in 'finding solid body' of sub-element of space perception ability. This shows that 'finding solid body' factor is associated with space perception ability. Third, in the section of 'The earth and the Universe' for elementary education, 'Reflection' and 'Finding solid body' which are low-level components of space perception ability were verified that have a corelationship with general grades in the astronomy conception test.
The purpose of the study is to find out students' misconceptions and the stability of misconceptions in the domain of mechanics. According to the incorrect choices by grades, three different kinds of conceptual change were identified ; (1) easily overcome misconceptions, (2) stable misconceptions, and (3) reinforced misconceptions. The analyses of the results showed that easily overcome misconceptions occurred in simple or visual concepts, stable misconceptions occurred in the concepts involving EGC(experiential gestalt of causation) or in the concepts overgeneralized in school teaming, and finally, reinforced misconceptions as grade level increases occurred in the concepts EGC with scientific logical procedures. The results on the type of conceptual changes may provide significant cognitive theoretic evidences on the sources of misconceptions.
With the emphasis on core competencies, the University of Seoul has exerted efforts to reflect the importance of core competencies in university curricula. The main assessment tool used in Korea is the Korea Collegiate Essential Skills Assessment (K-CESA), developed by the Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education and Training (KRIVET). This study examined whether core competencies measured using K-CESA are valid as a tool for assessing educational achievements among college students, and analyzed the correlation between K-CESA scores and course grades. The analysis was performed on approximately 204 engineering students at the University of Seoul. According to the correlation analysis between core competencies and courses, MSC courses were shown to be related to the resource and through information use competency and higher order thinking competency. Through the Analysis of Variance, students in the accreditation programs and students living in urban area showed higher competency scores. In the multiple regression, it was shown that Accreditation and MSC courses grades were the important variables to predict the competency of the students. Based on these findings, we confirmed that the K-CESA tool has a certain level of correlation with academic performance and that it functions as one of several ways to evaluate the program outcomes of engineering education accreditation.
Background: This study compares and analyzes the degree of oral health information literacy by 25% for upper and lower grades to assess how differences in mothers' oral health information literacy affect infants' oral health behavior. Methods: The study surveyed 201 mothers with infants and children using a 36 question survey tool. Cross-analysis was conducted to determine the difference in oral health information literacy between the upper and the lower 25%. Results: Comparing 25% of the upper and lower grades of verbal oral health information literacy scores, the word with the most significant difference in the correct answer was resin. An item asking about the time to eat after fluoride varnish application showed the most significant difference in the correct answer on the functional oral health information literacy scale. Mothers' oral and functional oral health information literacy scores showed that verbal literacy was statistically significant for brushing guidance after children's meals, brushing guidance before children's bedtime, food intake restrictions before bedtime, and restrictions on consumption of cavity-inducing foods (p<0.05). Functional literacy was statistically significant in the post-brushing test of children and the correct brushing method map items (p<0.05). Conclusion: As a result of comparing and analyzing the upper and lower 25% of the mother's oral health information literacy, it was found that the mother's oral health information literacy affected the infant's oral health behavior. Therefore, systematic education is needed to raise literacy by grasping the level of oral health information literacy of mothers, and oral health education by level according to oral health information literacy should be developed.
