The purpose of this paper is to discuss marketing strategies for school library. The writer divided marketing environment of school library into macro-external environment, micro-external environment, substantial environment, and operational environment. And analyzed characteristics of four target audiences-school administrator, teachers, students, and parents and local society-for school library marketing and suggested approach strategies to each target audiences. Four communication strategies of school library media specialist for effective marketing are discussed ; administrative communication, behavioral communication, cooperative communication, and social communication.

The 7th National Curriculum requires the part of a school library for supporting porformance evaluation, optional actives, and extracurricular activities. The school library which is very important part of school education needs support of necessary resources and adequate facilities for performing its functions effectively and efficiently. This reserch is based on the school library for present education to need. And, the objective of this reserch is to grasp the present condition of school library and to show improvement device for planning efficiently the time when school library is designed in future.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the three-year results and impact of a school library revitalization project. The data were collected using school library surveys, questionnaires, and group interviews. The analyses particularly focused on examining the impact of library schedules, programs, collections and uses on the school library's academic achievements. The analyses revealed that the school library uses and the recognition of their importance were improved significantly through school library establishment and remodelling and that school libraries could positively influence students' academic achievements, as shown by studies of the U.S. school libraries. Due to the lack of library collections and professionals, however, it is desired to carry out a further research in this area.

This study surveyed and analyzed school library festival that is being carried out in elementary schools of Seoul region. In doing so, it carried out questionnaire and interview survey targeting people in charge of library and students who are participating in the school library festival. The findings can be summarized with such components as follows. Major characteristics of the programs of the school library festival, the impact of Decimal Classification on the festival, change of participants' interest in book, the satisfaction of library staff and students are included. Based on the findings, major suggestions were made on activation of the school library festival.

According to the new multi-media appeared as a result of rapid growth of the information and science technique, the school library must be changed to the integration of the teach-study media resource from the existing print media. It means that the school library has to play a role of the study center with a different media from the existing teaching material, teaching instrument, facility and opportunity. The Information education must be conducted in the way of an integrated education course and able to do both information transaction and problem settlement. The education facility to solve this problem is the school library. Therefore, the school library becomes important more and more. It means that the school library is the center of entire study and education material for the teacher and student is focused on it. It is urgent to make the standard of the school library In order to cope with the new education and information environments. And especially it is very important to make a plan about the location and scale of the school library to improve the quality of the children's studying activity. The location of the school library is decided under consideration of the relationship with other room of school house and the proper scale of it is between 2.5units and 7.0units of classroom based on the number of class.

This study compare and analyzes recent school library standards in advanced countries including Britain, United States and Japan. The examination is based on the changing process of standards and development of school library in the each countries. This thesis presents the 'Information and the Library' curriculum and the roles of teacher-librarians. Related to 'The School Library Promotion Law', this thesis presents the effects teacher-librarians instruct 'Information and the Library' curriculum to the school libraries, and the challenges related to this curriculum. This thesis contains the role and work of three kinds of staff in the school library. implementation of primary and secondary 'Information and the Library' curriculum for information literacy instruction in the school libraries, the effects by 'Information and the Library' curriculum. and challenges of 'Information and the Library' curriculum. Conclusively, teacher-librarians should accomplish their own instructional activities with 'Information and the Library' curriculum in the school curricula as differentiated work from librarians.

The present study has a dual purpose to investigate the current state of school English library and needs required for its effective use, and to propose a reading program at the school library. The literature on school library was reviewed. A questionnaire survey was done to find out the current situation of English library at the secondary school. The analysis of 26 secondary English teachers' responses reveals that there was the absence of librarians or reading specialists at the school English library. It was also found that the uses of the English library were limited due to the absence of the specialists, no guidelines, and no link between the curriculum and the library use. A case study on a 2-week special reading program at the school English library was conducted and 15 middle school students took part in the project. The participants took pre- and post-tests to identify their reading level using a software and did a variety of reading activities using the books selected according to their level. The comparison of the tests shows that most of the students' reading level improved after the reading program. The analysis of their views on the program and its effects reveals that they gained confidence in reading and their vocabulary understanding was improved. Some suggestions are made for the effective management of the school English library.

As school libraries increase quantitatively, the importance of volunteer activities in school library is highly emphasized. In that regard, this thesis approaches and discusses the concept of the school library and school library volunteers systematically through the literature review. Surveys and interviews were conducted to investigate and analyze school library volunteers. The survey was completed by school librarians and school library volunteers separately from the 12 elementary schools in the Seoul Dongjak District Office of Education. The current situation of school library volunteers has been analyzed through surveys and accompanied interviews and, based on the analysis, some suggestions were made to improve school library voluntary activities.

The purpose of this study is identify the awareness and opinion of school librarians and teacher-librarians on the school library maker space. To do this, we used a semi-structured questionnaire to interview and analyzed in-depth telephone interviews of 7 school library professionals qualitatively. The recognition of makerspaces, the necessity of transforming school libraries into makerspaces and maker education, preparations and difficulties of implementation were investigated through the interview. As the result of interview analysis, school library professionals recognized that school library makerspace is essential to fulfill the users needs and important to enhance the library services. Also, school library professionals felt that it is desirable for the school library to function as a center for the in-school maker education program. Other important issues of the makerspace in school library were also identified. The key findings of this study are expected to be used as a momentum to activate the maker education centering on the school library.
