  • This study examined the characteristics of generative design methodology, and it selected and analyzed 11 sites that provide design development services using generative methodology, INPUT data were classified into design form factor based on the choices of each and the variable form associated with each participant's movement. In designing the algorithms, designers set the meth- od and range of participation according to the characteristics of the design, and linked them with design components. This provided the study with a discriminative design process. This resulted in a type with morphological characteristics and a type that emphasized epidermal formability. The generative design methodology has value as an alternative process in the field of fashion where the utilization of digital technology is becoming universal based on contingency and variability. The results of this study can be used as basic data for the study of personalized design through the extension of methodology of digital-based fashion design and generative methodology.

  • The number of accidents in school zone is decreasing than before with the introduction of strengthening traffic safety policy since January 2011, but the danger still exists. The School zone sign is widely known to have much effect in protecting children from risks of traffic accidents, but design improvement is being demanded to improve a sense of safety and legibility of safety signs in School zone due to the lack of understanding on the safety signs in crosswalk and School zone. This study analyzed differences in shape and color of existing safety signs through a case analysis of traffic developed countries as America, England, Japan, and Germany and suggested improvement plans for drivers to clearly perceive the school zone. For improvement methods, this study suggested the importance of delivering definite and unified warning message for school zone to drivers by using indication sign and caution sign together, and to use yellow, a safety color, and to unify the safety sign into triangle shape that symbolizes warning and caution to conform the international standards. Actual design production and experiment through improvement plans are needed in the future, and it is expected to secure safety of children and to provide international standardization of safety signs in school zone.

  • The Architects' design process is subjective and mysterious'. If we can reveal this process, it will be very helpful to proceed similar design projects. In the aspect of steel production, Korea is a strong country, but in the aspect of steel usage, Korea does not show its impacts as compared with other countries'. Even though steel has many merits in design as well as in structure, in Korea we have not applied it as design elements. In this situation, the demand of steel in school buildings is increasing, but steel also is used only on the basis of the structural and material meaning. So this thesis tries to find design elements of steel structure buildings, which can be applied in school buildings, through the analysis of existing steel structure buildings and the characteristics of steel.

The study is meaningful because it can be basic materials for various uniform designs, connecting function, symbol and trend to uniform development. The uniform for school advertisement was manufactured in a way to reflect characteristic and image of school, escape from fixed idea preferring traditional design in the past and reflect trend. It is expected that the uniform created with symbolic image of school will give high advertisement effect and improve school image by providing student with sense of coherence and discriminated feeling in various events and the meeting with other school students. Moreover, the student wearing the uniform with splendid design will feel mental superiority and have pride in school at the same time. In conclusion, the uniform reflecting trend is proper for the uniform of advertisement helper representing school as long as it can reflect characteristic and image of school. It will be also helpful for developing wider design and more splendid uniform because the study can create the motive to apply trend to other uniform that does not adopt trend.
