본 논문은 1930년에 창간하여 당시 한국인 의학연구집단의 중심적 학술 커뮤니케이션 장을 담당하였던 조선외보에 대하여 연구하였다. 먼저 조선의 보가 출현하게 된 배경으로써 한국에 서양근대의학이 도입되어 교육되는 과정을 살피고, 1930년 이전까지 의학자집단에 형성과 소식지 및 학회지의 발간 사항을 살펴보았다. 이러한 과정을 통하여 조선의보의 발간에 미친 직·간접적인 영향을 찾아보고자 하였다. 또한 조선의보로 발간하였던 조선의사협회의 결성과 그 성격에 대하여 언급하였으며, 본격적 의학 학술지로써의 조선의보의 면모에 대해서도 살펴보았다. 아울러 이 저널에 게재되었던 논문을 분석하여 당시 의학적 관심과 핵심적인 의학 연구자 집단을 구성해보았다.

As a new medium for knowledge diffusion, E-Journal is expected to be a general type of scholarly communication. However, the techno - economic problems have hindered the advancement of the E-Journal. For the technical aspects, there are problems such as the standardization of document format, automatization of the document preparation, forward and backward link between documents. Also there are necessities for the support of the information infrastructure of digital library and information superhighway. For the economic domain, reengineering of total publishing cycle is considered and the new paradigm of peer review is analyzed. We pointed out that the main difficulties in the diffusion of E-Journal are on the promotion of service and technological advance, not the price and marketing strategy.

KIPS is a net-world, cyberspace for scholars in Public Administration and Policy Sciences in WWW. All knowledge-intensive work has its core the publishing and debating of document. We have created a cyber forum for that work KIPS Cyber Forum has adapted ‘D3E’, the web-tool kit for non-technical users to easily debate and publish documents that exploit to the full networked interactive web media. And, for real-time communication, we added it the voice conferencing system. KIPS has opened Cyber Forum service in November 1998. The visitors on KWS Cyber Forum are increasingly growing, but the participants on the debate are a few. This means that the problems of Cyber Forum Service are not technical, but participation. The result imply that, at now, high participation of scholars on the debate is needed, at first, by the detailed guides for internet, www and relevant technical information. After that more expertly designed interface is to be important.

Andrew Niccols's movie Gattaca (1997) inspired the formulation of the "Gattaca Argument" concerning the negative outcome of biotechnology, which has since been critiqued especially in the context of transhumanism and posthumanism. According this argument the development of genetic enhancement will produce a genetic discrimination and lead us to serious form of inequality. However, in particular transhumanists deny that here are reasons to worry and advocating instead the transformation of human condition in terms of genetic enhancement. Moreover, they question that genetic enhancement will necessarily lead to social inequality. In what follows, we will reexamine the Gattaca Argument and its critiques based on the movie in order to reassess the role the movie plays in the subsequent scholarly discussion. We will argue that existing critiques fall short of capturing the problem posed in the movie - the problem of the inhumane. Based on a hermeneutic approach to the movie we will both reconstruct the arguments and evaluate the transhuman counterarguments in terms of modern history of philosophical ideas.

In this scholarly investigation, the focus is placed on the transformative potential of edge computing in enhancing Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) for the facilitation of autonomous driving. The intrinsic capability of edge computing to process voluminous datasets locally and in a real-time manner is identified as paramount in meeting the exigent requirements of autonomous vehicles, encompassing expedited decision-making processes and the bolstering of safety protocols. This inquiry delves into the synergy between edge computing and extant ITS infrastructures, elucidating the manner in which localized data processing can substantially diminish latency, thereby augmenting the responsiveness of autonomous vehicles. Further, the study scrutinizes the deployment of edge servers, an array of sensors, and Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) communication technologies, positing these elements as constituents of a robust framework designed to support instantaneous traffic management, collision avoidance mechanisms, and the dynamic optimization of vehicular routes. Moreover, this research addresses the principal challenges encountered in the incorporation of edge computing within ITS, including issues related to security, the integration of data, and the scalability of systems. It proffers insights into viable solutions and delineates directions for future scholarly inquiry.

As one of the important purpose of the concept is mutual communication, the concept should be defined clearly concerned concept, differed from others concept, identified intersubjectiveness, and could communicated readily and easily between researcher and practitioner through concept analysis. By analysing and synthesizing the concept of "Sanhujori" according to concept analysis of Walker and Avant. The author has tried to establish the term "Sanhujori" which gas been widly used from the past till now in Korea as a scholarly terminoloy and to develop a tool for the assessment of "Sanhujori". The conceptional attributes of the "Sanhujori" were figured out such as (1) hospitality; (2) physical and emotional recovery; (3) caring; (4) maternal role attainment. The assessment tool for the "Sanhujori" was constituted of 40 items of the conceptional attributes and tested on the 30 mothers more than 8 weeks of postpartal period. The reliability was that Cronbach's $\alpha$ is .9238.

The purpose of this study is to verify if there is any difference on researchers' language preference for citing documents in different subject fields. 8 scientific journals were selected one of each from 8 main categories, given by National Research Foundation of Korea. Five variables including the rate of citing domestic and foreign documents for each journals were choose, and the differences on language preference among researchers of different subject fields were checked by implementing ANOVA. As a result, there are some differences on language preference, in terms of the average number and percentage of foreign documents, among researchers, based on their subject background. It also found that 8 subject categories divided into 4 small clusters.

The purpose of this study is to suggest the strategic development model for the Taegu University Library preparing the 21st century. The results of the study are summarized as follows. 1. Size of collection aim to 697,000 volumes and 1,605 titles until 2000, 975,000 volumes and 3,224 titles until 2005, and 1,185,000 volumes and journals of 6,482 titles until 2010. 2. The library should have 36 professionals until 2000, 53 professionals until 2005, and 69 professionals until 2,010. And library should reorganize 3 departments and 14 sections up to 2,000, 6 departments and 22 sections up to 2,010. After that, the university should grope for a best way to combine the library and the CCC (Computing and Communication Center) into a single unit. 3. In case of space plan, it is necessary that library have to the total area of 31,478m$^{2}$. To find the recommended area, the library must improve the ratio of the net space 50 percent to 75 percent. 4. The model of scholarly information system should be designed to provide a total array of information services to the students and professors, envisioned as typically a user seeking information at a desk and workstation, regardless of format or computing capacity.

In the context of the emerging knowledged-based economy, innovations and capacity of the national information system to collect disseminate, and preserve the most important information resources are becoming increasingly fundamental determinants of national prosperity and survival. It is essential that the scholarly or scientific communication system provides cost-effectiveness access to information in support of research and development in Korea. The KISTI is the first instance and last resort for access and preservation of scientific and technical information in Korea. The primary purpose of this study is to optimize an acquisition size of STM information resources for the KISTI, based on its SWOT analysis.

This study was carried out for extension of SOMS as metadata of KERIS dCollection to activate IR(institutional repository), which was a new media for academic communication. For this study, current trends of foreign IR were surveyed, and MIT Dspace metadata and Bruxel DISpace metadata were analyzed to apply to SOMS. New SOMS suggested in this study will be more flexible to describe various materials, and to import and/or export academic research performance metadata.
