Research trends in dental hygiene based on topic modeling and semantic network analysis

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to analyze research trends in dental hygiene using topic modeling and semantic network analysis. Methods: A total of 261 published studies were collected 686 key words from the Research Information Sharing Service (RISS) by 2019-2021. Topic modeling and semantic network analysis were performed using Textom. Results: The most frequently and frequency-inverse document frequently key words were 'dental hygienist', 'oral health', 'elderly', 'periodontal disease', 'dental hygiene'. N-gram of key words show that 'dental hygienist-emotional labor', 'dental hygienist-elderly', 'dental hygienist-job performance', 'oral health-quality of life', 'oral health-periodontal disease' etc. were frequently. Key words with high degree centrality were 'dental hygienist (0.317)', 'oral health (0.239)', 'elderly (0.127)', 'job satisfaction (0.057)', 'dental care (0.049)'. Extracted topics were 5 by topic modeling. Conclusions: Results from the current study could be available to know research trends in dental hygiene and it is necessary to improve more detailed and qualitative analysis in follow-up study.

간호사와 치과위생사의 행동유형에 따른 직무만족과 조직몰입, 직무스트레스에 관한 연구 (The Study of DISC Behavioral Patterns on Job Satisfaction, Organization Commitment and Job Stress in Nurses and Dental Hygienist)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of the DISC behavioral patterns of health care workers on their job satisfaction, organization Commitment and job stress in a bid to suggest an ideal behavioral pattern of Nurses and Dental hygienist. The subjects were 184 health care workers who worked in general hospitals and clinics in Busan and Ulsan for a year or more. The collected data were analyzed using ANOVA and linear regression. As a result of analyzing the relationship of their DISC behavioral patterns to job stress, organizational satisfaction and organizational commitment, there were significant differences in job stress according to their DISC behavioral patterns(p=0.015). In regard to relationship between their DISC behavioral patterns and the subfactors of job stress, there were significant gaps in role conflicts(p=.007), conflicts with subordinates(p=0.001) and conflicts over underpayment(p=0.015) according to their DISC behavioral patterns. As a result of investigating the influential factors of job stress, factors produced significant results(p<.001). The findings of the study illustrated that out of the DISC behavioral patterns, type I was most prevailing among the health care workers, which indicated that the weight of this type was highest among the behavioral styles. There were no significant gaps in job satisfaction and organizational commitment according to their DISC behavioral patterns.

일 대학 치기공과 재학생의 중도탈락 의도에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구 (Factors affecting the dropout intention in the dental technology students of D College)

  • Purpose: This study aims to analyze the factors affecting the dropout intentions of the dental technology students of a college. Methods: The subject of this study was 76 freshmen and 74 sophomores of dental technician major in an anonymous college. Results from the questionnaire called K-vision diagnosis program were computed by means of t-test, One-Way ANOVA, and correlation analysis. Results: 1. Total points of the drop out intention came to 782.14 points. Of the five categories concerned with the drop out intention, complain in college satisfaction(50.12points) was the highest and department satisfaction(47.51points) was the lowest. Of 16 subcategories, complaining in administrative supporting system proved the highest as 50.80 points and Inquiry to Professor the lowest(45.56 points). 2. Among the general characteristic gender (p<. 01), student group (p<.01), and credit (p<.05) made a meaningful statistical difference; no statistical significance was found in grade, admission, and dwellings. 3. Of the five categories, statistical significance was shown as follows; Department satisfaction (p<.01), College satisfaction (p<.05) under gender, Department satisfaction (p<.05) in grade, Academic integration (p<.01), Department satisfaction (p<.01) in credit. No statistical meaning was found in admission and dwellings. 4. Statistical significance was found under 16 subcategories as follows: Career identification(p<.01), Academic support system(p<.01), Social activity II(p<.05) in gender area, Inquiry to professor(p<.01), Learning(p<.05), Understanding learning I(p<.05) in grade area, Learning(p<.001), Career identification(p<.001), Understanding learning I(p<.01), Understanding learning II(p<.01), Inquiry to professor (p<.01), Learning ability (p<.05), Occupation (p<.05), Social Activity II(p<.05), Administrative support system (p<.05) in student group area, Credit (p<.001), Career identification (p<.01), Understanding learning I(p<.05) in credit area; admission and dwellings was statistically meaningless. 5. Of the 5 categories academic integration (r=.766) was most relevant to the dropout intention of the subjects and followed by department satisfaction (r=.735), college satisfaction (r=.554), service acceptability (r=.373), and statistical significance was shown as p<.01. Conclusion: Considering the results of this study, we are in a pressing need for the introduction of policies and programmes aiming at preventing the dropout rates of the dental technician majors at college. In tandem with this, qualitative and viable human resource management of the dental technicians should be implemented.

  • 의료관광은 의료서비스와 관광을 동시에 제공받기 위해 해외로 방문하는 것을 의미한다. 즉, 의료서비스와 다양한 문화 활동, 레저, 쇼핑 등을 접목한 관광 활동이라고 할 수 있다. 이처럼 의료관광이란 단순한 의료서비스에 국한하지 않고 관광 서비스와 융합되어 새로운 수익을 창출하는 신 고부가가치 산업으로 많은 국가들이 해외 관광객 유치를 통해 자국의 관광산업을 육성하기 위하여 지속적인 노력을 기울이고 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 우리나라의 의료관광산업 중 치과의료서비스에 있어서 경쟁력을 확보하기 위해서 치과의사의 진료, 병원의 시설, 치과의 스텝, 환자의 만족도 사이에 어떠한 연관성이 있는지를 살펴보고자 하였다. 그 결과 치과의사의 진료는 병원의 시설 치과의 스텝, 환자의 만족 모두에 긍정적인 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다.

Effectiveness and patient satisfaction of dental emergencies in Pitié Salpêtrière Hospital, Paris, during the COVID 19 pandemic

  • Background: A previous study reported the effectiveness and patient satisfaction in the dental emergency unit (DEU) of the Pitie Salpetrière Hospital in Paris before coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The same methodology was used during the COVID-19 pandemic to compare pain, anxiety, and patient satisfaction during the two periods. Methods: This prospective study was conducted in 2020 (NCT04354272) on adult patients. Data were collected on day zero (D0) on site and then by phone during the daytime on day one (D1), day three (D3), and day seven (D7). The primary objective was to assess the pain intensity at D1. Secondary objectives were to assess pain intensity at D3 and D7, anxiety intensity at D1, D3, and D7, and patient satisfaction. Patients were evaluated on a 0-10 numeric scale on D1, D3, and D7; mean scores were compared with non-parametric statistics (ANOVA, Dunn's). Results: A total of 445 patients were given the opportunity to participate in the study, and 370 patients consented. Seventy-one were lost during follow-up. Ultimately, 299 patients completed all the questionnaires and were included in the analysis. In the final sample (60% men, 40% women, aged 39 ± 14 years), 94% had health insurance. The mean pain scores were: D0, 6.1 ± 0.14; D1, 3.29 ± 0.16; D3, 2.08 ± 0.16; and D7, 1.07 ± 0.35. This indicates a significant decrease of 46%, 67%, and 82% at D1, D3, and D7, respectively, when compared to D0 (P < 0.0001). The mean anxiety scores were D0, 4.7 ± 0.19; D1, 2.6 ± 0.16; D3, 1.9 ± 0.61; and D7, 1.4 ± 0.15. This decrease was significant between D0 and D7 (ANOVA, P < 0.001). Perception of general health improved between D1 and D7. The overall satisfaction was 9.3 ± 0.06. Conclusion: DEU enabled a significant reduction in pain and anxiety with high overall satisfaction during COVID-19, which was very similar to levels observed pre-COVID-19 pandemic.

대학생의 사회봉사활동 경험특성에 따른 전공만족도 및 학업성취도에 관한 융합연구 (Convergence Study on Major Satisfaction and Academic Achievement Depending on the Characteristics of Community Service Experience in University students)

  • 본 연구는 대학생의 전공만족도 및 학업성취수준을 봉사활동 특성과 융합적으로 규명하여 대학의 사회봉사활동의 올바른 정착과 함께 전공학문과의 연계에 필요한 프로그램의 운영 및 개발에 필요한 기초자료를 제공하고자 한다. 연구방법은 2014년 12월 1일부터 2015년 2월1일까지 부산 경남지역에 거주하는 대학생들을 대상으로 온라인 설문 패널을 이용하여 자율적으로 연구에 참여한 대학생 401명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 최종분석에 사용하였고 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 봉사활동 경험이 있을수록 봉사활동 참여도가 높을수록 전공만족도와 학업성취수준이 높았고, 특히 봉사활동이 전공과 관련성이 있는 경우 전공만족도가 높았다. 또한 봉사활동 만족도가 높을수록 봉사활동 필요성이 높을수록 전공만족도가 높았고, 보건계열이 비 보건계열에 비하여 전공만족도가 높았다. 따라서 전공 관련된 체계적인 봉사활동을 경험 할 수 있는 기회를 제공하여 봉사활동의 필요성과 참여도를 높이고 봉사활동이 보다 지속적으로 활성화될 수 있는 효과적인 프로그램 개발이 필요할 것으로 판단된다.

J지역 치과위생사의 직무만족 관련요인 분석 (A Study on Factors Related to the Job Satisfaction of Dental Hygienists in J Region)

  • J지역사회 치과위생사의 효과적인 업무수행을 위해 직무만족에 영향을 미치는 관련요인을 분석하고자 2006년 7월 24일부터 9월 24일까지 전라북도에서 근무하는 치과위생사 156명을 대상으로 설문조사를 조사하였으며, SPSS(Ver. 12.0) 프로그램을 이용하여 통계 분석한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. 치과위생사의 직무만족도의 전체평균은 5점 만점에서 2.83으로 낮은 정도를 나타냈으며, 각 요인별 직무만족도는 동료관계요인이 3.21으로 가장 높은 만족수준을 나타냈고, 장래성요인은 3.10, 자율성요인 3.07, 환경요인 2.99, 보수요인은 2.55이었고, 업무량요인은 2.03으로 가장 낮은 만족수준을 나타냈다. 2. 치과위생사의 일반적 특성에 따른 직무만족도에 유의하게 영향을 주는 요인은 연령별에서는 자율성요인(p < 0.001)이었고, 결혼여부에서는 자율성요인(p < 0.001), 보수요인 (p < 0.05)이었으며, 미혼보다 기혼이 만족도가 높게 나타났다. 근무지별로는 장래성요인과 동료관계요인(p < 0.001)이었고, 치과대학(부속)병원에서 만족도가 높게 나타났다. 근무경력에서는 자율성요인(p < 0.001)과 환경요인(p < 0.05)이었고, 근무경력이 높을수록 만족도가 높았다. 최종학력별로는 자율성요인(p < 0.001), 업무량요인과 환경요인(p <0.05)이었고, 학력이 높을수록 만족도가 높았다. 월평균 소득별로는 자율성요인과 보수요인(p < 0.001), 장래성요인(p < 0.05)이었고, 170-189만원의 경우가 만족도가 높게 나타났다. 3. 전반적인 만족도와 만족도에 영향을 미치는 요인간의 상관관계분석에서 전반적인 만족도는 자율성요인(r = 0.485),장래성요인(r = 0.222), 보수요인(r = 0.355), 동료관계요인(r = 0.280), 환경요인(r = 0.380)들에 의해 영향을 받고 있었으며, 만족요인들의 만족도가 높을수록 전반적인 만족도도 높게 나타났고, 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있었다(p < 0.01). 4. 직무만족 요인에 각 요인들이 어느 정도의 설명력을 가지고 있는지 알아보기 위해 다중회귀분석을 실시한 결과, 자율성요인이 가장 크게 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 다음으로 보수요인, 장래성요인, 환경요인, 업무량요인의 순으로 나타났고, 만족 요인이 만족도 점수에 미치는 영향에 대한 설명력은 40.2%였다.

  • This study analyzed and investigated of positivism to set up a hypothesis with a model of study based on a theoretical consideration to analyze a structural empowerment, a psychological empowerment, an immersion of duty, and a devotion of organization. which made the dental hygienists an object of study of investigation and analyzation in order to understand relation to elements that have an effect on a business result, effect and degree in a dental hygienist's organization. The results of positive analysis in the study are as follows. A psychological empowerment is influenced by a level of satisfaction for their duty, educational level, and types of main duty. A structural empowerment is influenced by a level of satisfaction for their duty, total years of work, a level of salary, type of work place. Organizational devotion is influenced by the structural empowerment, total year of work, type of workplace, and a level of satisfaction for their duty. Devotion for their duty is influenced by the psychological empowerment, total year of work, type of main duty, main duty that they want in the future, and specialization for amin duty.

치과 의료 인력과 치과기공사의 업무협력에 대한 인식 - 치과기공사 중심으로 - (Perception of Dental Personnel and Dental Technicians on Interprofessional Collaboration - Focus on Dental Technicians -)

  • Purpose: This study has been carried out to help to enhance the measures of interprofessional collaboration between Dental personnel and dental technicians, and between dental technicians themselves through the analysis of recognition of interprofessional collaboration between dental technicians. Methods: The subjects in this study were 130 dental technicians who were self-written questionnaire. The results were analyzed by SPSS 12.0. The collected data was analyzed by frequency and Correlation. Results: As a result of examining the correlation analysis of each question to explore the factors that affect interprofessional collaboration recognition of dental technicians, the group which received criticism from dental personnel showed negative (-) correlation in the interprofessional collaboration recognition (p<0.05). The following groups showed positive (+) correlations in the recognition of interprofessional collaboration : the group who replied that they can utilize information on the patients associated with the prosthesis production (p<0.01); the group who thinks that they are sharing common goals (P<0.01); and the group who replied that Dental personnel are familiar with patients (p<0.01). The following groups also showed higher positive (+) correlations in the recognition of interprofessional collaboration : the group who replied that they frequently discuss patient's information with Dental personnel (p<0.01); the group who thinks they have mutual confidence in one another (p<0.01); the group who thinks that cooperation among their colleagues in dental technique laboratories are being done well (p<0.01); and the group that has high job satisfaction (p<0.01). Conclusion: Effective communication and team work between human resources for providing medical service of the facility are essential for safe and high-quality medical service to patients. Further, such elements are directly connected to efficiency of the entire team. The reliability between dental technician and Dental personnel for cooperation should not be neglected therefore continuous interests in inter-cooperative partnership is required.

치과의사의 태도가 환자 만족에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Dentist's Attitudes on Patient Satisfaction)

  • 본 연구는 치과의사의 태도가 환자 만족에 미치는 영향을 규명하고자 수행되었다. 본 연구에서 활용한 자료는 한국보건사회연구원에서 전국 규모로 수행한 2020 의료서비스경험조사이다. 본 연구에서는 치과 의료기관을 방문한 총 560명의 환자들을 연구대상자로 선정하였으며, 모든 통계처리는 SPSS 26.0 통계 패키지를 활용하여 분석하였다. 본 연구의 주요 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 회귀분석 결과 치과의사의 태도 중 환자만족도에 유의한 영향을 미친 변수들은 '예의', '불안 공감', '충분한 대화', 그리고 '알기 쉬운 설명'으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 치과를 방문한 환자들의 만족도와 치과의료기관의 서비스 질 향상을 위한 기초자료를 제공하였다는 의의가 있다.
