This review is concerned with the MP (multipactor) phenomena of the diplexer for RFDU DM of next generation satellite. The MP discharge is serious problems to design RF components in space applications such ase damage of physical structure, performance degradation, and mission failure of the satellite. In this work, we employed the 3D finite element method (FEM) to calculate the critical gap points and adopted ESTEC curve, MP susceptibility zone, to analyze the maximum handling RF power in the diplexer. And this work also recommends that one should design the tx filter of the diplexer which is more wider bandwidth upto the points to escape the ears of the group delay especially the cavity type of RF components in space applications.

The land surface reflectance is a key parameter influencing the climate near the surface. Therefore, it must be determined with sufficient accuracy for climate change research. In particular, the characteristics of the bidirectional reflectance distribution function (BRDF) when using earth observation system (EOS) are important for normalizing the reflected solar radiation from the earth's surface. Also, wide swath satellites like SPOT/VGT (VEGETATION) permit sufficient angular sampling, but high resolution satellites are impossible to obtain sufficient angular sampling over a pixel during short period because of their narrow swath scanning. This gives a difficulty to BRDF model based reflectance normalization of high resolution satellites. The principal objective of the study is to add BRDF modeling of high resolution satellites and to supply insufficient angular sampling through identifying BRDF components from SPOT/VGT. This study is performed as the preliminary data for apply to high-resolution satellite. The study provides surface parameters by eliminating BRD effect when calculated biophysical index of plant by BRDF model. We use semi-empirical BRDF model to identify the BRD components. This study uses SPOT/VGT satellite data acquired in the S1 (daily) data. Modeled reflectance values show a good agreement with measured reflectance values from SPOT satellite. This study analyzes BRD effect components by using the NDVI(Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) and the angle components such as solar zenith angle, satellite zenith angle and relative azimuth angle. Geometric scattering kernel mainly depends on the azimuth angle variation and volumetric scattering kernel is less dependent on the azimuth angle variation. Also, forest from land cover shows the wider distribution of value than cropland, overall tendency is similar. Forest shows relatively larger value of geometric term ($K_1{\cdot}f_1$) than cropland, When performed comparison between cropland and forest. Angle and NDVI value are closely related.
The bifurcation point where a satellite component buds from another component is characterized by the existence of the common tangent line between the two osculating components appearing in the degree-n bifurcation set. We investigate the existence, location and number of bifurcation points for satellite components budding from the main component in the degree-n bifurcation set as well as a parametric boundary equation of the main component of the degree-n bifurcation set. Cusp points are also located on the boundary of the main component. Typical degree-n bifurcation sets and their components are illustrated with some computational results.
An integrated multi-beam satellite and multi-cell terrestrial system is an attractive means for highly efficient communication due to the fact that the two components (satellite and terrestrial) make the most of each other's resources. In this paper, a terrestrial component reuses a satellite's resources under the control of the satellite's network management system. This allows the resource allocation for the satellite and terrestrial components to be coordinated to optimize spectral efficiency and increase overall system capacity. In such a system, the satellite resources reused in the terrestrial component may bring about severe interference, which is one of the main factors affecting system capacity. Under this consideration, the objective of this paper is to achieve an optimized resource allocation in both components in such a way as to minimize any resulting inter-component interference. The objective of the proposed scheme is to mitigate this inter-component interference by optimizing the total transmission power - the result of which can lead to an increase in capacity. The simulation results in this paper illustrate that the proposed scheme affords a more energy-efficient system to be implemented, compared to a conventional power management scheme, by allocating the bandwidth uniformly regardless of the amount of interference or traffic demand.
The real-time reception and recording of down-link mission data from a satellite requires the highest reliability because the data lost in receiving process cannot be recovered. The data receiving and recording system has moved from a set of dedicated hardware and software components to commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) components in order to reduce the system cost as well as to upgrade the system easily for handling other satellite data. The use of COTS hardware and middleware components prevents the system developer from correcting or modifying the internal operations of the COTS components, and hence, instant performance degradation of the COTS components which affects the reliable data acquisition must be covered by a software algorithm. This paper introduces the instant performance problem of a COTS data recording device which leads to the data loss in the real-time data reception and recording process. As a result, the requirement of the modification of the conventional data read/write technique is issued. In order to overcome the data loss problem due to the use of COTS components and the conventional software technique, a new algorithm called a software buffering technique is proposed. The experiments show that the application of the proposed technique results in reliable real-time reception and recording of high speed serial data.

The impulse between launch vehicle and atmosphere can generate a lot of noise and vibration during the process of launching a satellite. Structurally, the electronic equipment of a satellite consists of an aluminum case containing PCB. Each PCB has resistors and IC. Noise and vibration of the wide frequency band are transferred to the inside of fairing, subsequently creating vibration of the electronic equipment of the satellite. In this situation, random vibration can cause malfunctioning of the electronic equipment of the device. Furthermore, when the frequency of random vibration meets with natural frequency of PCB, fatigue fracture may occur in the part of solder joint. The launching environment, thus, needs to be carefully considered when designing the electronic equipment of a satellite. In general, the safety of the electronic equipment is supposed to be related to the natural frequency, shapes of mode and dynamic deflection of PCB in the electronic equipment. Structural vibration analysis of PCB and its electronic components can be performed using either FEM or vibration test. In this study, the natural frequency and dynamic deflection of PCB are measured by FEM, and the safety of the electronic components of PCB is evaluated according to the results. This study presents a unique method for finite element modeling and analysis of PCB and its electronic components. The results of FEA are verified by vibration test. The method proposed herein may be applicable to various designs ranging from the electronic equipments of a satellite to home electronics.

This paper discusses the prediction and validation of design loads of satellite components using modal mass acceleration curve (Modal MAC). To calculate the acceleration upper bound of the satellite components subjected to the launch environment by the Modal MAC, the parameters of SpaceX Falcon 9 launch vehicle were used, and the acceleration upper bound curve in the modal domain was derived. After that, the maximum acceleration loads applied to the satellite components were predicted by combining Modal MAC with the spacecraft interface loads of the satellite/launch vehicle and modal information of the satellite. In addition, the accuracy of the Modal MAC was validated through comparison with the results of the coupled loads analysis using a simple satellite and launch vehicle model.

The development of a low earth orbit microsatellite is recognized as a good means of enhancing the technological capability, to gain experience and to train engineers to acquire knowledge and experience in space systems. Most developed countries in space technology do not allow the transfer of critical space technologies such as technology involved in attitude determination and control systems. And the export of critical components and equipment such as high precision attitude sensors is tightly controlled. Therefore it is inevitable to independently acquire self-design and manufacturing capability to implement a satellite mission. The KITSAT-3 program was aimed at verifying the capability to design, develop and operate an indigenous microsatellite system, which includes such critical technologies and associated components and equipment, as well as train engineers. KITSAT-3 was launched on May 26, 1999 using the Indian launcher PSLV-C2. The operations team has successfully performed a full functional checkout during the launch and early operations phase and the satellite is presently in a normal operations mode. This paper introduces the KITSAT-3 program and the results of the initial operations.
In the department of mobile communication technology and satellite communication technology, wireless communication technology division is very important by transmitting and receiving the signals in wireless link environment. Most of all, the components which comprises the transmitter and receiver can decide the RF(Radio Frequency) system performances. Therefore to assure the reliability in the satellite communication field, it is essential to acquire the competitiveness by developing the highly integrated and compact components by means of MMIC(Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuit) technology. MMIC is the designing and fabricating technology for the RF components. This paper introduces the MMIC technology and describes the technological trend and prospect in the satellite application.
High-resolution satellite image processing software should be able to ensure accurate, fast, compact data processing in offline or online environment. In this paper, component software for high-resolution satellite image processing is developed using OpenGIS components and real-time data processing architecture. The developed component software is composed of three major packages, which are data provide package, user interface package, and fast data processing package. The data provider package encodes and decodes diverse image/vector data formats and give identical data access methods to developers. The user interface package supports menus, toolbars, dialogs, and events to use easier. The fast data processing package follows the OpenGIS's data processing standards, which can deal with several processors as components with standard procedural functionalities.
