1. Objectives We introduced a case of postoperation stomach cancer patient with metastasis to peritoneum and colon who suffered from repetitive diarrhea and abdominal pain. 2. Methods Stomach cancet is the most common cancer in Korea. Eventhough the 5-year survival rate of stomach cancer is increasing recently, metastasized stomach cancer does not show good prognosis, especially when the surgical operation is not applicable. After partial resection of stomach, most of patients experienced gastrointestinal disorders like dyspepsia, reduced meal size, abdominal discomfort, loose stool, and constipation. 3. Results and Conclusions Taeumjowi-tang, a Sasang Constitutional Medicine, improved the diarrhea and abdominal pain.

1. Objectives Besides Diabetes Mellitus, its complications are matter of concerns as well. Its following complications are cardiovascular disease, glomerulopathy, retinopathy, neuropathy and diabetic gangrene. These complications can cause overall damage in major organs. In traditional oriental medicine it has been perceived that gangrene is mainly caused by "hwa(火)" but under sasang constitutional medicine its has been diagnosed as Taeumin superficial-disease(太陰人 表病) and Taeumin Jowiseungchung-tang(調胃升淸湯) was prescribed. As a result, significal improvments was noted and thefore we report the outcome. 2. Methods We have given Taeumin Jowiseungchung-tang(太陰人 調胃升淸湯) to a patient for treating diabetes complications. 3. Results This patient was treated with Sasang Constitional Medicine and acupuncture for about three weeks. After treatment, ulcer and whole body edema were improved considerbly. 4. Conclusions We have dianosed the patient as Taeumin superficial-disease(太陰人 表病) by undergoing several diagnostic method used in sasang constutional medicine. Therefore we have given Taeumin Jowiseungchung-tang(太陰人 調胃升淸湯) to the patient and has obtained satisfactory results in curing several diabetic complications especially ulcer due to diabetes.

Objectives : A human being is classified into 4 constitutions(Taeyangin, Soyangin, Taeumin, and Souemin) and each constitution has the different incidence, treatment and prevention of disease in Sasang Constutional Medicine[SCM], The purpose of this study is to find relative risk(RR)s of each risk factors including Sasang Constitution[SC] for incidence of ischemic stroke. Methods : In 344-case patients with ischemic stroke and 1446 healthy control subjects without ischemic stroke, we evaluated sex, age. height, weight, BMI, ECG abnormality, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, blood lipid level and SC. These data were statistically analysed to investigate the relations between risk factors and the incidence of ischemic stroke by chi-square test. And then significant factors were analysed to get each adjusted odds ratio[OR] by binary logistic regression analysis. Results : ECG abnormality, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, HDL(high density lipoprotein) cholesterol, and SC were significantly related to the incidence of ischemic stroke, while age, sex and BMI were adjusted in a binary logistic regression analysis. Especially in SC, the incidence of ischemic stoke in Tae-eumin and Soyangin were higher than that in Soeumin (Tae-eumin OR=11.68[95% CI: 6.26-21.80], Soyangin OR=4.64[95% CI: 2.66-8.10]). Conclusions : These results suggested that SC may be one of important risk factors for ischemic stroke and it should be a useful data for prediction of incidence of ischemic stroke.
